I would love to have another buddy or buddies in my life who also are taking care of themselves.
I have a buddy here. We call when not wanting to do it. And if not home we leave a mesage. Thus far working.

jehovah's witness elders .
abused my 4 year old
when my son matt was three years old, he was molested by his 26 year old aunt (my sister in law).
My response to Cathy. "And to stand by your son who is gay. Is a testament in the relationship. I apllaud you."
Most definitely a compliment. The reality for GLBT is famlies is they cut off the relationship with the child. Whether they are jw's, exjws or others are in the world. I as a lesbian don't have the support from my family who are not jw's. I am touched when I hear a mother or a father stand by their children.
Attending Gay Pride last month. In the parade their were 2 blocks long of parents, family and friends . Who are supportive. They had a standing ovation all the way down the avenue. And every year I cry when they go by. Wishing my family be among them.
I was surprised by the response. I do struggle with articulating sentences and gammar. What I do know it comes from the heart.

I want to say that I admire your whole family. The courage and strength to stand up for your son. I think its important to honor those places in life that brought so much pain. And to measure as individuals where you stand today and to be able to mark those changes as well.
I too, the only reason I left was abuse.
My children are adults and to watch them bloom and grow over the years. They know as a mother I will stand behind them still.
And to stand by your son who is gay . Is a testament in the relationship. I applaud you.

like my mother before me, im a martyr.
i am almost unable to make a choice based on what is best for me.
and of course this has over time made me a depressed, bitter person who, much to my horror, explodes with rage from time to time.
Yes, I wore the martyr robe quite well. I was a martyr before becoming a jw. My mother is a role model for martyrdom. So I was quite groomed into the jw-dom.
So it has taken me years to reclaim myself. Fortunately over the years I choose to be around other women who are taking care of themselves and extensive therapy.
I can say I am a happier person today.
I support you in taking care of yourself in whatever way it makes you comfortable with self.

Sounds exciting. What a beautiful spot on your ankle. I like the rose image.
There is a woman here in Minneapolis is a tattoo artist. Her spirituality is with the process of tattooing. I plan on receiving a crow feather on my upper arm.
Hope to hear how it goes for you?

My condolences goes out to you in these times of the loss of your Grandmother. She sounds special to you.
I support you in taking care of yourself surounding this unhealthy energy. I am glad their are non-jws to get support from during this time.
I am also from Minnesota.
Interesting that one post here sharing about Ron and Mavis Frye. I use to be in the same congregation in the middle 1970's. Small world.

when you post here, do you feel that you that you can make a positive difference in someone's life?
or is this place just a spot to hang with your friends?
I think so. It certainly has opened many doors for myself in my healing process. I can see my growth has changed sense being on this board. Hopefully will make a difference to others who are on their journey. And to know each one of us are not alone.
