  25 year old farzana iqbal was stoned to death by a crowd led by her own father and two of her brothers outside the high court in lahore yesterday.. her crime was to reject her cousin, who her family had decided she should marry, and fall in love with a man of her own choosing.. thousands of women are murdered every year in so-called "honour killings" but convictions are very rare.

  pakistani law permits victim's families to forgive a murderer, but in these cases the killers are family members who are nominated to carry out the execution by the rest of the family.. this is what happens when you allow a mysogynistic religion to influence secular law.. reuters report...l.

  new hope: But can i possibly understand the cause of this killing? My instinct is not to blame religion but the pull of the crowd.

  .

  Without the religion telling them this is what god wants, how likely is it a parent's natural inclination, when their child does something they don't like, is to stone them to death? No normal, rational parent even thinks that way.

  This behavior is precisely what the Koran instructs its adherents to do. They act the way they do because of their religion; and, theit conscience is not a factor...it never is in matters of "faith".

  @ Johnamos: It’s sad to see the many here that have allowed the becoming aware of the WTS/GB’s lies and errors to cause you to no longer read and use the bible

  .

  The best method to expose the Bible's absurdity is to actually read it. What you fail to understand is that many here have come to certain conclusions because they've studied the Bible extensively, not inspite of it.

  And, it's statements like this one that prove the idiocy of the religious mindset when they argue for the Bible, god and Jesus:

  "None of that should change your view of Jehovah and Jesus and the bible!!! If anything it should strengthen your faith!!! WHY??? The scriptures state that those lies and errors (In fact a very BIG error) are part of Jehovah’s people."

  In other words, a person should just expect that god allows massive lies within his group and these should be accepted as a matter of fact??

  Unbelievably, WT laments the fact that it cannot do the same thing to its members that are done under Sharia Law:

  yesterday i was trying out the hobgoblin from the wychwood brewery, and today i'm enjoying a cold bishops finger.. .

  both are excellent, but i am a bit fond now of the hobgoblin ruby beer.

  any other recommendations?

  I can’t help but think the WTS leaders felt strongly that a window of time of almost 40 years in length would clearly show them finally as being true prophets.

  .

  And now WT has an "overlapping" generation...in essence, buying themselves another 40-50 years before they need to come up with a new ridiculous explanation as to why Armageddon is still not here.
