what nationality were mary and joseph that they had such a fair skinned son
They were really caucasians living in Yonkers.
My, what a close shave Jesus has. He's obviously an Atra man.

i was talking with two brothers at the kingdom hall the other day.
one of them suggested seeing the new exodus movie.
the other brother says, "i heard it's really violent"!
My baaaaaaad
i don't understand the relevance of the first picture in this weeks study article?!?!.
wt week of december 15-21 "cherish your privilege of working with jehovah".
can someone post the pic?.
I like how they say," You will agree ", and then proceed to state their opinion on a subject.
I caught that one also, DD.
It's a redundant statement really, because a JW has no choice but to agree with WT, so demanding mindless compliance and agreement is a foregone conclusion.
for a while i have shaken my head after learning how jw's interpret (rather corrupt the meaning of) matthew 8:11. i thought it couldn't get any worse.
i was wrong.
the following is an extract of the march 2015 watchtower in pg 27. the writer is explaining the meaning of mathew 25:31-46. enjoy!.
Figurative sheep literally supporting the GB.
Only in WT Land.
This is classic WT editorializing based on cherry-picking, no different then claiming the "faithful slave" is literal while the "evil slave" is figurative, despite the fact they are discussed in the very same verse.
I love the heads-up, which every JW will miss, that what they are about to read is pure, unadulterated, fictitious bulls**t....
"In the illustration of the sheep and the goats, Jesus does not directly mention the preaching work" ... so we (the GB) will now expound on what we think Jesus shouild have said....

If armageddon is really 'right around the corner,' or as one brother likes to say 'staring us right in the face,' then why are JWs wasting all this time, effort and money building new facilities that will take them far into the future in 'this old system?'
I believe it was Stephen Lett who admitted they ( the GB) really don't know what Jehovah™ has in mind for Warwick, but the GB decided to forge ahead anyway. A very strange comment from a group of men who claim to be in on god's plans from the start, being his Faithful Slave and all.
Here's the hypocrisy of WT's message:
1. A JW wants to go to college for four years to get a degree: WT: don't do it, Armageddon is too close. You won't finish school. Preach and build for WT instead.
2. WT: embarks on a 4-6 year building project in Warwick: No problem... Armageddon probably is not that close. We'll finish it.
yes, this comment was just made by the speaker today!:.
"if you find that you are lacking in joy or experiencing problems in life, this is evidence that jehovah's spirit is lacking or being blocked in your life".
i sat there thinking "are you kidding me brother?...
Oh, great! Now, on top of everything else, you're telling me that God hates me!
God hates everyone. It's not just you.
The insidious nature of comments like this:
"If you find that you are lacking in JOY or experiencing PROBLEMS in life, this is evidence that Jehovah's spirit is lacking or being blocked in your life"
... is that life is problems! Even the best of lives still has problems.
Yet another way to guilt JWs into doing more for the Org. Problems = not doing enough for WT = do more for WT = god will make the problems go away. NOT ! Since problems never go away the JW is caught in a cycle of "what have you done for me today?" activity to earn god's smile of approval.
A classic example of a Fool's Errand.

So, a JW would not go see the Exodus movie because it is "violent", yet will probably have no problem reading a bedtime story to their children about David collecting not 100, but 200, Philistine foreskins and 24,000 Israelites being slaughtered for doinking Midianites, some having their genitals run through with spears?
You gotta love the dualistic sense of morality of a JW.

B The ex-B: How can anyone have much confidence in WT's "current truth" when the next issue will tell them contradictory "new light"?
WT has actually said this. Of course, they were attempting to condemn the Catholic Church (again) by pointing fingers at them (again) for something the WT was guilty for itself (again), and failed (again) to see how they, the kettle, were calling the pot black (again).
.
"Yes, millions of persons have been shocked to learn that things they were taught as being vital for salvation are now considered by their church to be wrong...
How can I believe in the Bible, in God, or have faith? Just ten years ago we Catholics had the absolute truth, we put all our faith in this. Now the pope and our priests are telling us this is not the way to believe any more, but we are to believe ‘new things.’ How do I know the ‘new things’ will be the truth in five years?"
... Not just a few Catholics have asked such questions. The change in teaching has shaken their confidence in the Church. Would you not feel the same way if what you had always been taught to be vital for salvation was suddenly considered unnecessary? Would you not be inclined to question other teachings of your church also?
... Thus, many truth-seekers are having their eyes opened to see that the Catholic Church has not been holding strictly to God’s Word. And they are wondering whether any religion that does not do so is worthy of their confidence and support." -- Asleep, 4-22-1970, pp. 8-10
.
Re-written, this can just as easily say:
Not just a few Jehovah's Witnesses have asked such questions. The numerous changes in teachings have shaken their confidence in the Organization. Would you not feel the same way if what you had always been taught to be vital for salvation was suddenly considered unnecessary, replaced by "New Light"? Would you not be inclined to question other teachings of the Watchtower also?
... Thus, many Jehovah's Witnesses are having their eyes opened to see that the Governing Body has not been holding strictly to God’s Word. And they are wondering whether any religion that does not do so is worthy of their confidence and support."
an athist made this casual statememt on another thread:.
this would suggest to me that there are at least some atheists that do have consistant beliefs.. .
as an atheist, how could he possibly trust the reason that suggests this to himself?
When a thread starts with the premise of telling other people what they believe, "Why Do Atheists Struggle So Much Against God", rather than asking if it's even true, it is bound to go off the rails rather quickly.
Then posting an hour-long video where responders are expected to carry all the water if a discussion is to take place, rather than the OP taking time to pick a few well-chosen points from said video to make his argument, and the deafening silence from the theist side of things when questions are asked, well... what could possibly go wrong?
And for good measure, add to the mix the all-too-predictable posts which accuse atheists of being outraged, intolerant and 'ganging up' on the OP for no other reason than the atheists are showing more interest in the topic than the nowhere-to-be-found, invisible OP does.
this is the message of hope in the bible.
why couldnt the the borg have left well enough alone, instead of ading on and adding on all the crap just like the pharasees.
i could expound but you get the point.. .
There is an axiom in the marketing industry: "Complicate to profit".
It works equally well in religion.
