What do you tell your children about god or his lack of existance? I know I have a long time before I have to deal with this but my jw mom did ask me what I will teach my son about god. I have no plans to tell him god is real. I know he will have some exposure to Christianty because his father is a non practicing Christian and his parents are religious. "God" will not play a factor in our lives since I don't believe in a particular god. I know there may come a time he might want to go to church and explore and I will certainly enourage that. I've been thinking about this a lot lately for some reason. I've seen my brothers kids and my sister in law is a believer and they pray to Jesus and all that. My little nephew believes that god or angels will protect him and all that. I think believing that kind of stuff makes him feel safer in a way but I don't believe in that. I can't see teaching my son that. What do you tell your children?

I've dealt with this recently. My ex BF came to town recently for a visit and asked me to show him around. We went all over the place and had dinner. NOTHING romantic happened. Anyway the guy I am involved with ripped into me. I underwent what felt like an interrogation. I have never seen him so angry. To me I consider my ex to be a dear friend and that is it. I did not consider him any different from any of my other guy friends because we broke up so long ago.
I know he is friends with some of his exes and I could care less if he has dinner with them. As long as he does not hide it. I had no qualms about telling him. It was totally innocent. He called me asked me how my day went and I mentioned one of my friends was in town and I was showing him around and it all went downhill from there. He actually forbade me to see him again. I told him he did not pick my friends and not to give me an ultamatium. He backed down but he is still pissed about it though. In a way to get back at me I assume he called me and told me he was going to dinner with his ex GF and that he was so looking forward to it. I told him to grow up and have a good time. I don't play those bullshit games. I think my one mistake in this was not telling him first that I was seeing an ex BF. Still his reaction was totally out of line.

Whenever I have dealt with dubs on a fishing expedition they are looking for info. My mom has sent dubs I know to ask me questions about my sister who is df'd. Ashame she can't ask herself. Does your ex wife need proof that she is free to remarry? That could be it.

family disowning you!!
by awol inafter 8 yrs not being a jw (not dfd just left)... my b.i.l has decided for the good of his family that they are not to associate with me!
my sis was like my best friend, and now .... after they had marital difficulties (which he knows only the half of, cos she has kept her mouth shut) he has now become a mini man!!
he has told my sis and my beautiful nieces and nephews that they cannot associate or speak to me at all.

My BIL hated me since being with my sis too... and yep, this was his opportunity to get her away from me! using the witnesses as a good excuse.... told him that too!
That is what I was thinking that your bil viewed you as some kind of threat ie that you have influence in her life. He seems desperate to hold on to her and he has to know that all is not well in their marriage. He probably knows deep down that she cheated but is in denial. He might even hold you responsible for some of her actions because he knows you have a close relationship and know her activites and did not say anything. A marriage like that won't last long. Your sister will get ansty again and go back to partying. It will be a matter of time before your bil will have to come out of denial and/or your sister is caught. Guess who your sister will coming running to when that happens? You!!

Johnny I love reading your posts. I would feel almost sorry for those witnesses who cross your path but they don't deserve to be felt sorry for. I really admire how you take them head on and take no shit from them. I know some people on this board don't approve of your methods but I say keep it up.

Your going to the meetings whether you like it or not!
by Atlantis inyour going to the meetings whether you like it or not!
thousands of jehovah's witness children have heard those threatening words backed-up with spankings, whippings, or even severe beatings.
but what if they are too small to understand?

When I would go to sleep my at the KH my mom would pull my hair, ear or pinch me and I would get the most nasty look. Then when we got home she would make me sit in a on a hard wooden chair for an hour. It did not matter if it was late at night or even a school night. I guess I was one of the fortunate ones. I told my dad what was happening and he had his lawyer send her a letter threatening to take her to court so she had no choice but to quit. That was one of several letters dads lawyer sent mom to keep her in line.
When I was about 12 she said that I could not go with her to NY to visit Bethel because of my bad attitude. I gave her a big smile and jumped in the air and went YES thank you Jehovah for not making me endure a boring ass trip to Bethel!!! I know she wanted to smack me in the face but that would have landed her in court so she controlled herself. I cannot believe she gets upset that she is not allowed to take the grandchildren to KH. I've confronted her on how she treated my brothers and I when we were little and she says she does not remember. What a lame ass excuse.

I went back home to visit my family. I stayed at my moms house a couple of days. She has some other relatives there who are jw's. On Friday night I went out and when I left they were playing these bible charades. The next morning (Saturday) I hear them getting up at around 7:00 a.m. to get ready for FS. I could hear it in their voices how tired they were and did not want to go out. I got out of bed around noon. When they got back I was laying around in my pjs watching a movie. Then they ate lunch and started studying the WT for Sunday. That is around the time I left. I went out had fun with my family and friends. The next morning the same thing happened again. I slept in and they had to drag themselves to the KH. They were not happy but I certainly was.
