  Truly loving two people (KInd of a response to the Soul Mate thing)

  i was reading the soul mate thread and wanted to ask: how many of you have truly loved and been in love with two people at the same time?.

  i have been married 30 years to a wonderful man.

  i do love him and he is crazy about me.

  Wow! I've been in love twice but it was not the soul mate kind of love. I've always wanted to experience that kind of love w/o a third party involved of course.

  I work for a family law attorney and I've heard stories like this before. The clients just spill their guts to me. I offer them no advice. There is one thing that always seems to happen. The divorces are very bitter and the children from the marriage grown or not seem to hate the guts of the cheating parent. It's heart breaking to watch. Building happiness on other peoples misery is not right in my opinion. I wish you luck with whatever you decide. You're going to need it.

  I Put a Curse on my Ex-fiance

  last night, me and my current fiance decided to go out and do some singing at a karaoke bar.

  we've both run into my ex-fiance a few times, but i hadn't seen her there in a while.

  i figured she finally got fired from the salisbury house close to there.. anyway, we get out of my truck and head toward the door.

  My ex behaved in a similar way when we would run into each other in public after I dumped his sorry butt. He loved to tug on those heart strings but kept it very casual. Eventually he started e-mailing me questions that he could have very easily found out from someone else. Then they got more personal and then the I'm sorry baby please take me back started. I miss you I can change blaw blaw.

  If she starts e-mailing you its a safe bet that she wants to get something started again. At the time I took real pleasure in rejecting him over and over again. I was happy that he realized what he lost and that he knew I was was happy to be rid of him. Believe it or not we are friends now. It took a long time though to reach that point.

  Is Anyone Here Going To Do The Thanksgiving Thing?

  not being familiar with this tradition at all, i've always found it fascinating (and on my to do list if i ever win the "big one" .

  nb we merge the family get together and meal with the present giving at christmas time.

  we also usually tend to have more than one christmas dinner - one, the hot one at lunch time with one set of relatives, then the other, cold christmas dinner leftovers in the evening with anohter set of relatives.

  I will be having Thanksgiving at my brothers house. There will be about 20+ people there. Usually we play touch football (american) in the morning. Watch football on TV, drink lots of liquor and feast on Turkey. The women are usually slaving in the kichen while the men sit on their asses talking about sports. That is usually how it goes in my family.

  uuuugh, i feel like i have one foot in the grave right now.

  i am soooo miserably sick it is unbelievable.

  i really thought i was going to die yesterday, i had this horrible raspy cough and a super high fever, you know the kind that makes you feel as if you're moving under water?

  I'm sick too. I've have a sore throat, lost my voice, and can't stop coughing. It sucks especially right before Thanksgiving.

  i have just imd my 11 year old daughter - -because of family commitments they are not going to meeting tonight.

  i asked "are you pleased you do not have to go to meeting tonight?

  " she replied --- "dad" all indignantly --- i then replied "what" and she said " dad , nobody likes going to meetings it is just something we have to do" so it appears waht has been said on this forum is truth.

  I remember one elder said giving a talk "Do your kids get as excited going to meetings as they do Wal-Mart? If they are not excited about going to meetings then there is something wrong". What an idiot.

  What Do You Plan On Buying For Christmas Presents?

  I'm lazy. I have my neices and nephews pick out what they want at the mall or I will let them order something online. I give gift certificates to the rest of the family and friends to their favorite store. I use to stress myself out every year trying to pick everybody out the perfect gift. I would spend hours shopping. I prefer letting them pick out what they want.

  Just lost our parents....

  well, the shunning begins.

  we finally had "the" discussion with my parents, that we no longer consider ourselves jw's, and a little bit of why we felt that way.

  of course, "dad the elder and po" and mom the pioneer dutifully informed us that not only will they be "loyal to the organization" and shun us completely, but that he would immediately let the other elders know, so that proper judicial action could be taken.. it was a heart wrenching discussion, with all of us, including my two young boys (9 and 10) all balling our eyes out.

  You are under no obligation to go to that Kangaroo Court. As soon as they get the scoop from your parents they will have already found you guilty. You might want to monitor closely how much contact the grandparents have with your boys.. They might try and indoctrinate them behind your back. Keep us posted on what happens.

  well after two months of silence i got a couple of phone calls from my "best jw friends".

  probably motivated by november watchtower instructions, they were nice asking about a family, kids etc, and then came "the" question: when are you going back to the meetings?

  i told them again reasons why not ,yet they tried to be sympathetic by warning: as long as you do not go around and bad-mouth the organization we can still be friends.

  part of that going all out means lots of booze.

  and if so, will they try to insist he drink?

  No!!

  He goes to A.A. almost everyday and has a sponsor. I don't know if he is in after care. Thanks for your advice. You have given me a lot to think about.
