Like anything else, it depends. I can tolerate a bit, particularly if it is aimed at me. But if I need to step in for my wife or kids - especially the kids - I have a different 'tude. When my kids are involved, I get a case of Irish Alzheimers. That is to say, I can forget everything but the grudge.

Do you forgive easily?
by JH inare you the type to forgive easily, or do you keep a grudge for quite a while?.
i forgive very fast, and this could play a trick on me.
i would be the type to go back to the hall if everyone in the congregation became friendly with me all of a sudden.

Sexual abuse by my father covered up by JWs
by brandi ini was wondering if anyone else on this board had an experience similar to mine.
when i was 7-12 years old, i was sexually abused by my dad (also a witness) and i confided in another witness- a friend of the family's.
he also ended up walking in on the abuse at one point.

Brandi, Welcome!
Actually, in one sense, your story is a bit rare: You have two Witnesses! Almost all cases I've read about, here, at SilentLambs, other sites, other cases that I know of personally, are different. Usuallly, the victim is alone ... so alone. Unless the abuser admits the offense, then the dubbies will do nothing - unless the law requires a report.
But you have an actual witness to the actual event. It must feel like an extension of the abuse to have it covered up so. I'll tell you what, you have some serious crimes here, including obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and I'm sure others, in addition to the child molestation charge.
I hope to read more of your posts.

1975 recording "Stay Alive 'til '75"
by Pathofthorns inthis real audio recording of a district overseer in 1968 is one of the most disturbing things i came accross in my surfing.
it perfectly demonstrates the misleading nature of the "we never said 1975" statement.
while perhaps technically true, see if this talk doesn't make any loyal jw rethink what was really said about 1975.. download real audio if you don't already have it to listen to this talk.

I've long viewed this case to be the best example of evil in the org. When I first started going thru the web looking for interesting tidbits of JW history, I focused on the 'We never said that ... exactly'. I went poking around thru old Freddie quotes, Watchtower quotes, whatever I saw on the web. I said to myself, "Of course they said it, I was there, I remember."
Then it occured to me that, at least in one way, we (non- or ex-dubbies) are wrong: they did learn from the 1914, 1925, etc debacles! You see, I believe that Freddie knew exactly what he was doing. There is no way that he could by accident get soooo close to stating the '1975' prediction soooo many times, without actually saying it.
Freddie was a lying control nut that was saving some 'plauseable deniability' for himself. He had the foresight to save that deniability since, what, forever? since the forties?
Freddie didn't believe it, but he let everyone else believe it. The damage to too many people was irrecoverable. That cold, calculating, damaging lying and control is frightening - evil.

attention apostasy sucks.
by MOLHIE-NIGG inoh after my last posts i had great fun reading the response's that were posted.
i am just trying to figure out what is wrong with you people, your'e response's are predictable and indeed amusing in many cases.
the first hint a someone defending and apparently being a jw and the 3 camps come out of the woodwork with their charm and tact to help a the poor jw realize the truth for what it is.

Simon - this is the first time I've posted to disagree with you - and I know you can't spend forever making a decision.
But I didn't think this GINN person was too much of a troll. Yeah the language was a bit provoking, but not over the top. I reviewed the posting history and didn't see any vulgarity or any other particularly offensive wording.
Most important, I think his/her posts were on topic, and had a point.
Don't get me wrong, I have a hunch that the posts werre eventually going to go over the line, but I don't think they were there yet.

Onacruse-inForABrusin,
Actually I knew it was tongue-in-cheek when I read the title. But for those that took it seriously for a moment, and some may be at the next meetup - watch your back, chief.
BTW, had a great time Saturday. Next time, I'm gonna stay later.

My ex-student's letter of disassociation
by Titanic inhere is the letter of disassociation of one who was "my best" student when serving the borg.
we studied together for more than 2 years.
she got baptized and was doing pioneering hours slaving the borg.since my disassociation she has been scrutinizing the borg and she has been out for a while.now she is keen to disassociate herself from this cult.. so, here is her letter, and i hope that it can serve as an example for those who think about doing the same.. 1 march 2003. .

Who went through an 'Awakening' here? Still here?

okay, maybe not the brain. I just noticed the signature, "duo." DownUnderandOut, our Aussie friend?
But why did you start a new ID?
And all human eyes are the same size.
