As a dyed-in-the-wool New Englander, I must select the Bucs. (Gotta hate those Raiders)

How far back can you go?
by JH in.
we all remember certain things and events when we were young, but do you remember certain events in your life when you were only 3 or 4 years old?
how far back can your memory go?.

Pretty sure many won't believe. But I can only guess that the arrival of my new baby sister was quite traumatic for me. Because I have a blurry, black and white memory of my grandmother driving my mother home from the hospital with my new sister - I was 18 month old.

Strange utterances of C T Russell

I wonder what critics outside Russel's new group of Bible Students were saying back then. I can just picture someone saying, "Bah, there've been crackpots crying out for the return of Christ ever since he left." - stuff like that.
Notwithstanding the technology of the time, I have a sense that people of the late 19th century were every bit as cynical as we.

The Truth About "New Light"
by Farkel inah!
new light!
what dub worth his salt doesn't eagerly anticipate each district assembly or watchtower magazine to "glean" any "new light" that might be presented?
-

Farkel,
The WTS has a dynamic duo of dogma. Along with the concept of 'New Light', they have that delightful standard of not 'running ahead of Jehovah'.
The 'New Light' is how they say, "We don't believe that anymore". The 'running ahead of Jehovah' is how they say, "We don't believe that yet". Or, with a bit more 'tude, "You might be right, but that isn't what we teach today, so shut the eff up and get back in line."
Those two concepts are how they convince the great unwashed crowd that they must accept what they teach now - not what they taught yesterday, not what they'll teach tomorrow.
I still can't believe I ever tolerated that crap.

I was in all the AP classes but I was the class clown. First day of every class every year I got, "Mr. Smith, right here please" with a point to the chair closest to the teacher. But being a dubbie, I was so sure that this school thing was just something to look down at - because of course it would all be gone within a year or two.
I had to stay after school so often that one year my mother thought the late bus was the time I got home from school. She never did put together the fact that my sisters (same school) got home an hour before me. Some days, on the rare occasion that I didn't have detention, I would stay late anyway so as not to blow my cover.
At lunch and other breaks, I hung with the other dubbies (there was a bunch of us) and talked about motorcycles - we all had dirt bikes - besides, conversations couldn't get much deeper with them 'they of the remedial math class'.

Getting over the "Imperfect Org" defe...
by confuzcious in.
hey guys,.
i was wondering if you have a response when you present stuff about pedo, un, rutherford, etc, and a jw says, "well they are imperfect people.. the last respons i got was, only jesus was ever the perfect channel of god - which of course i agree.. but it's like if you ever bring up anything about anything, the stock response is, "we'll it's an imperfect organization.... your response???.
-
Buster
Admitting to being an imperfect org. is just lip service. They are lying.
If they really understood that they were imperfect, they would not expect to be treated as though they were perfect. Everything they say and do is expected to be believed and followed as though it were a direct edict from God himself. That is a claim of perfection.
The WTS/FDS lies, the individual JWs lie.
I have high hopes for Ahahahaha ... his zeal is likely to manifest itself in abject horror when he realizes the lies he's been swallowing.

There is nothing cooler than watching gorgeous women conive and otherwise throw themselves at a guy that would need a week's pay to buy her a scarf.
Joe Millionaire is the best show on the air (I'm waiting for the promised twist)
