What do you love about being a JW?

What did I like with JW:s?

Being a traveling man, I do remember that wherever I travelled, in Australia, Asia, Africa and the US, I always had the habit of visiting the nearest KH. And I immediately, had a bunch of new friends (brothers and sisters). Friends I kept in contact with long after my visits there. Some of them came to my place in Scandinavia, and my neighbors, always wondered why I always had all these colorful people coming to visit me. I´m kind of missing that part of being a JW., but It will never prevent me from informing of the TTATT. The last ten years none of them has been visiting me, I guess they know I´m Df. And an apostap.

I guess that I also liked the pacifistic idea, no violence to anyone.

the bible and its prophecies

i have been doing a lot of research on the bible and its roots so to speak and its becoming clearer that the jews like other races took gods and stories from others and made them their own.

its also become clear that many of the books were written later then stated, like daniel probably written about a hundred years before christ and some of it maybe even after.

but what i don't get is the prophecies.

I think that you should look up in Wikipedia the site ”Ashurbanipals library” specific the Gilgamesh epos. Archeologists have found 4000 years old clay plates with readable texts on it. These clay plates were written in original 4000-4500 hundred years ago, and they (specially the Gilgamesh epos) were talking about an ancient flood, that took place during the reign of the evil king Gilgamesh. Now observe that these texts still are readable in ORIGINAL.

All other texts we have are much younger and in fact only transcriptions of transcriptions of transcription, of older translations of transcriptions…..a.s.f. In fact as far I know the oldest peace of text taken from the Bible is the P54. (P stands for Papyrus) It is. a fragment of the size of your credit card, and it is dated to probably somewhere year 100 after Christ. What has happened with the original text during that time journey, we haven´t a clue. But those clay plates or cylinders are original documents, and they talk about ancient stories and scientists believe that even the Bible has got its story about the flood from these plates. Even the Plato story about Atlantis, fits the Gilgamesh epos rather good.

The fact that we can link many of the mentioned regents and the mentioned stories in a time schedule (the evil king Gilgamesh for instance), makes the Bible texts absolutely insane. The Bible is not more reliable than the scriptures of Plato and Aristotele. And we know for Shure that their vision of the creation, or the world , the physic world or the eventual the world of Gods is nothing but just ferry tales..

The Bible Says the wt says.. Who should we trust?

john 14:6 - 6 jesus said to him: i am the way and the truth and the life.

no one comes to the father except through me.. jeremiah 9:4,5 "everyone, be on guard against your neighbor, and do not trust even your brother.

I am sorry to say that neither the bible nor the watchtower are any reliable source to seek the truth. Both of them has again and again fooled and betrayed honest humans when seeking our origin and history. Even if you seek a creator or a salvation figure you’ll be disappointed looking into the Bible or any of those societies that claim they have a truth answer. This of course also goes for all other “wholly scriptures” that only have been used to empower evil man such as priests, mullahs, presidents and Kings.

The society is even more blameful. I appear very clearly, that they only use their devote members, as slaves to make the leading (GB/directors of the treasure dept), even more rich. (compare the fortunes of the Catholic church). Free labors are very god to build new buildings. KH, Assembly halls, churches, branch offices a.s.f. who easily could be sold for millions of dollars. This without any tax accounting, or statement of finances to their members.

A startling example of a JW ignoring evidence

i happen to work with my father, and today we got into another debate about the origin of life.

during the debate, while rebutting a lot of creationist canards, he said that mutations are always harmful to an organism.. .

after he left i sent him a quick email with a link to talk origins on the subject of mutations.

This is my experience to. I have often invited "old Friends" to go to an Evulotion Museum not far away from where I live. Everyone of them has rejected the idea, becouse the know they are only lying.

But what about if you bring up the qeustion of mutating viruses? Every year we have to find out new vaccines to protect us against, the next generation of viruses.

Do You Try To Avoid The Witnesses When You See Them?

i happen to see jws a lot while visiting my mom.

they don't go there with me, which works well for all concerned..

I dont try to avoid them, they try to avoide me!!! And when they accidently run into me, they look very uncomfortable.

What was the "logical straw" that broke your camel's back?

i had a bunch of tiny little nags that always bothered me about the bible/god/etc.

that eventually led to me drifting away, but this was my personal, singular issue that no one could address.

i think i mentioned it before here, but, for summation again:.

For me there were several things during a long period of time. But the straw of the camel´s back was one: The Philosophical logic fallacies that are obvious in two major issues.

1./ According to the Soc. Jehova God is loving, merciful, forgiving and kind. And he should never ever let his human child burn in a hell. But if you don’t become a JW soon, he will destroy you and all the rest of humans in a total disaster, the BIG A….soon…soon

2./ God sacrificed his one borne son Jesus Christ, so that everyone who believes in him should have eternal life. And the son of God comes down to earth, he is loving careful, merciful, and teach us how to live and how to behave against one another. And we kill him, betray him, humiliate him, put him on a cross, spit on him, and when he dies god takes him back again, and then suddenly everything is forgotten.

Most religious people are totally perplex, when you start to question on these matters

CO's & DO's age 70+ to be laid off on 9/1/14

in a private conversation with a c.o.

friend from north carolina, he told me yesterday that they just got a letter that all traveling overseers (do's & co's) age 70 & up are going to be laid off on 09/01/2014.

they will be asssigned to local congregations and further details are pending.. .

Well looking on it from the outside a “finance controller” couldn’t see all the events from any other point then bankruptcy.

The WTBTS are selling out all real assets, Brooklyn buildings, Kingdom Halls, Assembly halls, branch offices. And now they are dismissing all “the old” ones on the paying lists. They must know that all these acts are giving them terrible credits on moral chart.

All these events are the proof that WTBTS are on the edge of ruin. Wasn’t Russel who said that If this organization have the blessing from God we should never feel the need of asking people for money. He will provide…

But wastn´t the followers of Jesus supposed to give for free.? Wasn´t the followers of Jesus given away all their possesions to those who were in need?

What they did i Sweden anyway, since they sold ”our” assembly hall, was that they booked a complex Hotel center up north in the high mountain region (skiing resort) several weekends, during of season, and told the Hotel owner that they could fill the hotel complex with 800-1000 guest, each one individually paying for their rooms or foods in the restaurant. This for two nights. Guess if the Hotel owner gladly let them have for free all the “conference” facilities. And of course the speakers or those in charge of this conference had their rooms and food free.

This made several hundred cars and busses travel more than 300 km, turn and return. Forcing poor families to spend about $ 100 /night + rest. Food. Of course during the convention the speakers always demand the audience to give their contribute for all the arrangement that the society had provided for??!!

This kept on for a couple of years. But the brothers soon discovered that attendance figures dropped dramatically. And I guess The Hotel owners soon find another way of getting their guests.
