By Him we cry Abba, Father...and the Spirit intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. All in Christ's name.

What about praying NOW???
by JNS2 innow that my decision to leave the organization is made, there is definitely a sense of relief.
i know i'm leaving a controlling organization, not my faith in god.
so i'm still praying at various times during the day, but it has become a very odd thing now.

Adam and Eve had DIRECT fellowship with God himself. Since God can't be in the presence of sin He was outey after the forbidden fruit. The entire old testament is about men trying to obey God well enough to get back into direct fellowship. Well, they failed. And nations were destroyed as God gave chance after chance. The old testament also consistently points to Jesus as the perfect way of salvation. The law system was used by God to prove to men that they had the need for a savior. So with Jesus' perfect life and sacrifice for ALL of us, on his ascent back to heaven the GIFT of the Holy Spirit was given. The undeserved GIFT of direct fellowship with God is ours because of Jesus. We are to honor Jesus JUST AS we honor God the Father. The Spirit IS God. The Son IS God.
Thank you Oh my Father, for giving us your Son...and leaving your spirit 'til the work on earth is done

Door to door work really being done?
by freedom96 inobviously the witnesses are going door to door, but is it as effective as could be?
in all my years as an adult, only once has any witness come to the door preaching "the good news.
" this is once in over 15 years.

I've actually NEVER had a JW knock on my door. I asked my family and they've had only a few that they ever remember. Maybe door to door is like the annointed, they're trickling off and soon will be none. Oh, happy day.
Ever since I "educated" myself on the WTS I've actually prepared for a visit, hoping to ask just the right questions and offer a little new light. But if I had my choice, they'd cease and desist all by themselves...the truth never changes and belief has nothing to do with it.

Is There Anything Left To Say?
by JH insince nearly 3 years, this site exists.
do you think that every possible topic has been covered?
do you have a hard time finding new topics to talk about, or is it easy for you to think about a new topic every day?.

With every new WT publication, there's new reason and topic to disgust, I mean discuss. The light here stays on, and doesn't change...that's the beauty of the truth...it's always interesting to those that didn't have it previously.

This really disturbs me. I want the WTS to fall face first but not at the expense of innocent children.
I wish the Attorney General could prosecute enough ALREADY existing cases to shut them down.

Are you looking for beliefs or truth?
by Pleasuredome inhere's an interesting quote i found on the net about why we need truth rather than beliefs.
belief has nothing to do with truth.
there is danger in belief: it makes you feel that you know the truth.

I agree, ever heard the expression "that's true for him"? Truth isn't something that can be molded and shaped, it just is. Unfortunately it's altogether common for people to confuse what they believe with what is ultimately true.

Obviously mankind can't agree on everything, that's when the one true religion kicks in. No self-professing Christian should allow themselves to judge others. If they don't like how some people praise and worship, then they shouldn't attend there. But they certainly shouldn't go around saying those people aren't saved or are bad unchristian people. The Bible emphasizes love above all things. It hopes and endures all things. I personally believe any sectarian (we're saved - you're not) churches are wrong to believe and teach that, so that's why I don't go there. Still should love them, even if they are our enemies.
Look at it this way, if everybody just did the same thing...then how would we ever improve? It takes differences to realize the importance of the Christian common ground.

So, where DID the 1914 timeline go awry?
by Xander inokay, i know that historical evidence is that jerusalem fell in 586/7 instead of 607 - as the wtbts would have.
however, that is not compelling enough to show a hypothetical jw.
they (generally) must not only be show that the opposition is correct, but that the wtbts is wrong.

Let's just remember that the WT uses "Bible Chronology". That has to be the standard here...but wait a sec, there are NO dates in the Bible. Including 1935 which compels JW's to happily tell me I can't go to heaven because it's full. Anyway, chronology has been accurately established by the reigns of kings spoken of in the Bible along with thousands of documents and records reflecting same. Secular historians establish Bible chronology, but doesn't it sound so much better that the WT uses the Bible? How great they aren't.

Who needed Psychological help?
by JH in.
did you ever need psychological help when you were in the "truth", or maybe after you left?
would you say that people who come here on this site are in need of psychological help, since they can't seem to get over their bad experience as a jehovah witness?
-
Gig
I suppose everybody could use a little psychological help, but the WT really creates the need. One explanation I can offer is that given the overwhelming amount of written info and reading required, the strict control of information, JW are obviously going to be limited in their mental stimulus. The problem that occurs is JW's attempt and often succeed in being someone that they are not. Everyone is born with a personality type, and no matter how much we learn and how much we change, that type remains the same. The WT influence makes people change themselves into what the WT describes Jah wants. Their personalities morph into the same JW type. All psychologists and psychiatrists agree that this un-natural change is dangerous. It causes all kinds of emotional trauma that comes out as depression, unusual and irrational fears, and a variety of basic anti-social behavior.
It's not what you think you are, it's what you THINK...you are.
