people here post a lot of personl stories about things that happen to them with their witness family members.
but what about the timing of these activities..... i know a lot of people here have to be very careful of what they post.
they either have family they're trying to convince to leave or they're posting here just to keep sane while the jw lifestyle swirls around them.

Discretion is the Better Part of Valour as the saying is - for reasons to do with JW "hostages" emotional stress, cowardice, good judgement or whatever I sometimes hesitate in replying / giving details which would lead the WT to my door - I do keep a journal (writing everything down is part of my profession so it comes naturally - after all those years of notetaking I cannot stop!) and note important happenings/thoughts down and use the points when it is appropriate.

Some are now so plainly identifiable (even by picture?) that the history of posts and the details therein available to Borg monitors almost gives the DNA of the individual - yet it seems that they are taking no action - is there a reason for this? Are the Borg scared of taking action - experience tells me that that will never be the case - do they have some other cunning plan? If, as it seems, they are not following up on cases of "apostasy" why is this - have they got too much on their hands re Court Cases etc?

Yes Contribution Boxes at CBS are standard WT policy and have been for at least the last 20 years - Society example Accounting Sheets from the late 70s shows how to list CBS contributions - Congs encouraged to collect at every gathering - to be fair it is a scriptural arrangement to have the means of donating available for one to use as he/she wishes
what does it take to become a circuit overseer?.
the watchtower bible track society relies very heavily upon these men to make sure that they have a tight grip on each congregation.. the structure for control that the wt.
has in place needs it's eyes and ears to find out whether or not a congregation is following all the rules that the wt has laid out for it.
Seriously the drop out rate seems to be getting higher - last month -September - when circuits changed it seems a lot "came off" (what a strange phrase but how true - it is almost a drug) so more had to be trawled in with a probable lowering of qualities such as compassion etc and attention given to the creeps and crawlers - I have watched aspiring COs creeping in the most disgusting manner to anyone in authority now for decades and it makes the politics at work, in the UN, in the world, seem minor by comparison - some of these people DO ANYTHING to get themselves "promoted"
As circuits get used to the "new" (to them) CO has anyone had any new CO experiences yet? Are the majority almost complete heath freaks who are basket cases as to what they can eat/drink/do are there still a large number with "rare" and "unusual" conditions calling for extra care & attention (more money)?

i'm sure this must happen, brother faithful and sister subjection, spend their whole life in jw land, have an average/good living, have three kids, both pass on, leave it all (or most) to the watchtower, would you have a case or any legal grounds in getting your money back.. definitely a case for johnny cochrane.. i'm a little worried my parents might do something this stupid.. any experiences or ideas .................
In UK law a dependant may have a claim on the estate of a deceased person but generally Courts uphold legally drafted Wills - a dependant (wife / minor child or other person who is financially dependant on the deceased) can contest a Will unless the deceased has prepared a Family Provision Claim Form which clearly shows he/she has no desire to leave anything to the named person.
A child is not a dependant if living away from home and without clear financial support from the parent. In the case asked about in UK law the WT would likely get all the money
Canadian Law involved which is not in my area - however WT has the legal muscle to contest any claims against a Will and is likely to drag things out until other claimants die, give up, run out of funds to contest the Will.
Has anyone any detail of a Will / Bequest tothe WT which was contested by another person (relative/dependant)?
It would always be interesting to check after Probate who witnessed a Will and what involvement they have, as an elder for example could witness a Will of a cong member in which they leave a Bequest to the Society/ or the local Cong - a potential case for declaring the Will invalid as the signature witness has a probable material interest in the Will content.
i got 2 replies to my letters this morning.
one was from my local mp saying he had passed my letter to another minister and the foreign and commonwealth office are investigating to see if its an appropriate issue to raise, and the other was from the wbts of britain.
the letter reads as below, and i would appreciate your comments on it, and some good qoutes to include in a reply.. .

How do they protect children when they BAN any warning about proven abusers in congregations? Going so far as to DF anyone who does pass on such warnings.
As others have noted this case was all about precedent and striking financial fear into the hearts of others who have legitimate claims against the WT etc. Lets hope that in some way the publicity backfires on the stinking scum in the Service & Legal Departments who uphold and promote this charade of an image.
I have had to censor my reply as what can only be rage came over me when I read the letter from the Britain Branch Office.

This is an organization that insists it channels the true God in all its actions and pronouncements, and that His holy spirit guides the organization as He is their "husbandly owner." Further, appointed shepherds of this flock are said to be granted those positions by holy spirit.If all this were true, the number of perverts running around in the organization would be zero or, allowing for the occasional fallen angel, extremely low. The facts indicate holy spirit is largely absent from the picture. So, even if there were fewer than the average number of perverts at the KH, their mere presence brings these claims into question.
Just about answers the point of most threads here - paradise should have no deviants of any kind - spiritual paradise should hold no dangers for children women/vulnerable or anyone
Also parents will do all they can to protect children against any dangers yet the portrayal of the spiritual paradise is such that parents can let their guard down with trusted brothers/sisters in a way they would never do with "worldly people" - innocent children are vulnerable in this situation
How the WT deals with abuse (not just the 2 witness rule) shows the shallowness of the claims to "spirit direction" as all efforts seem to be directed at protecting Gods Name (meaning the WT name) and the welfare of abused, parents and others is a secondary concern with no structure to deal with in any meaningful manner. Yes the percentage of abusers may be no different than in, say, the Boys Scouts, yet the structure of the WT protects and affords paedophiles/ perverts/ financial con men/ network sales confidence tricksters or whatever an easy approach to their targets.
no doubt many of you are aware of the new project that society is taking on, regarding it's expansion of it's patterson complex, the sale or soon to be sale of its brooklyn building and the new printing presses that cost $50 million.. .
i haven't really thought about why they are doing this, but now i do, some questions come to mind.

Re cost of Cartage to docks etc - is this not handled by the society so has no "real cost" as if outside contractors were used?
Part of rationale of WT is growth / expansion / progress - downsizing can be made to look like upsizing if sold to the faithful as such - cost not an issue to the GB - appealing for massive funds feeds the growth myth and blinds the faithful to the actual fact that WT is wasting more money - the publishers money.
