  The lost congregation, or something else?

  while i have seen on many occasions the benefit of sharing our past problems, or life, with others who have been through the same.

  i am very curious as to what the real benefit would be, to leaving a religion of such control and segregated thinking, only to venture online or in person to others who are basically a lost congregation of the religion.

  does it benefit a person to seek out former jehovah's witnesses?

  Not sure of your age bracket but you describe most of those of college/university age I know - is a lack of purpose involved - no, not 'religious', but personal - what is your motivation for studying, is it personal need, necessity, desire to learn, career planning or whatever

  Sadly also your symptoms describe many I know who have left the "mother" organisation with its micro-management allowing no space for free choice. Yes - some do leave and go of positively recharged - but some have had so much kicked out of them it hurts for a long time.

  One thing I did learn from leaving the WT - nothing is "normal" or "right" for everyone - are you trying to compare yourself to how others cope/plan/work ? Only positive advice I can offer is NEVER to read Self Help books as they invariably make one feel worse. Be yourself - are you the real you - or is it someone else? Can you change ? Why should you and do you want to? Some of greatest achievers in life have manifested your current symptoms.

  For myself I understand deep depression well and wish you to be happy content in whatever way you progress - lots of us thinking of you Regards

  hey all, time for me to say goodbye to you for the time being.

  as some of you know, i moved to ohio 4 months ago with my boyfriend of 3 years, who pretty much ignored me the second we got here.

  well, we broke up a while back, had an awkward on and off thing going, and now it's finally done for good.

  I'm kinda lost right now, gave up my whole life, good job and all my friends to move out here so he would be happy, only to realize that he didn't want me, he just wanted to be back in Ohio with his family and his brother.

  makes me ashamed to be a man - what kind of a schmuk is he?.....whatever you do now...put yourself first - look afteryourself - hope you are back here soon

  Concorde

  just seen the last scheduled commercial flight of concorde take off from jfk going to lhr -- 7.37am edt which is 12.37 pm bst.

  what a machine -- end of an era - -of course in the new system -- which is just around the corner -- we will all be back in the stone age.

  British Airways cocked up their marketing, Sir Richard Branson is willing to take over, but British Airways say no because they want to keep him from making a success of it.

  That way they don't lose their passengers to Virgin Atlantic.

  Now normally I think Englishman talks sense (with a funny accent) but this time...Concorde was scheduled to cost £100m (in the next year acording to a BBC reporter, to keep in the air flying less than half full - with the payload of the plane even running at 100% capacity the losses would be huge - only answer to keeping the flag flying is state subsidy and why should the taxpayer shell out so pop-stars and millionaires can reach the US faster? - Sorry - the plane is uneconomic. Branson cannot increase the number of passengers Concorde can carry therefore he cannot cut costs or increase revenue - his attempts to "take over" Concorde are just self publicity.

  Multiple boards/Multiple personalities?

  going from board to board i notice how certain people who post will be so different on other board, while some don't change their style.. do you change your personality or style when you post on other boards and try to fit in and be accepted there, or do remain yourself no matter where you post?

  For some I think this is all about....."lights,..cameras,...action" - give some people a box and they turn it into a soapbox, get out a camera and they smile - are these the people who rushed to volunteer when a speaker was missing, filled in at the TMS at short notice, worked with the CO door to door?

  first, you maintain good relations with the 'good old boys" - er - i mean the elders.

  As ever -the common factor here is the fickle finger of local elders who "interpret" guidance instructions incorrectly regularly - take sides and move things in favour of the "friend" - if they did what they were told to virtually none of the posted happenings would have been approved - yet no action from COs DOs GB to correct the situation - those playing false to elders claim to be in truth so should realise that in their book they are playing false to the Holy Spirit - does it bother them ? No way

  Never fails to amaze me that from my experience the ratio of "strange" divorce/remarriage situations is far higher than among the "worldlings"

  divorce/get DFd/do your time/get married/come back/all is forgiven - not much difference to confession to a priest really

  Can an empathetic person be a racist - why yes - most racists are not members of the KKK or British National Party - they appear normal - but hold prejudices/dislikes/opinions which most of us would be appalled at, yet they do not kick dogs, mug old ladys or parade around shouting obscenities - the dangerous racist is the "ordinary" person who (as world history shows) can be whipped up by a charismatic leader into acts of racism which are physically manifest - the (former) policemen on this TV show are nutters but most racists are not nutters - see info from the (UK) Race Relations Board and you will understand that racism is not clearly manifest - it is largely our of sight

  Etan - excellent research - however the WT is a closed society and operates by a rule book (from the GB) and as a club or society they make their own rules - they do NOT use the the Bible as areference point so sadly your excellent and relevant scriptures will make no difference to them - they use the scriptures like a conjuror uses his shirt sleeves - a bit here, a bit there, now you see it, now you don't. Get out , stay out, start living within your own limits, not those imposed by others.
