a question for what its worth.. could ones postings here @ jwd (or else where) be used as attestation in a judicial hearing ?.
Any content which allows the 'poster' to be identified, and which is seen by WT as 'apostate' could be used as 'two witnesses' in a judicial hearing. Written and signed (provable as to the authorship) documents have been used in the past as a sole evidence base for df action. Bill Bowen had a letter he had written used as the only evidence against him.
The question to ask any elders if this happens is "and what were YOU doing looking at questionable sites?"

this time around you would have learned that jws are cleaner and less profane when using a public facility (stadium) than a pack of rabid football fans... what a revelation!

The British branch had for many years a 'Deposit and Loan' Fund in which Congregations / circuits could deposit money at either no interest or at a low interest rate. the money was able to be reclaimed within 7 days. Over time, the branch has 'persuaded' congregations to drop the interest on loans and also to 'donate' ""surplus"" funds.
Also the British branch had a KH building fund, but over a year ago, had to ask congregations to pass a Resolution allowing it to spend the money outside the UK, as charity law restricted the use of the funds to the UK. Other society accounts were 'restricted' by charity regulations and the society have sought to have the terms of the charity requirements widened so the money can be used outside the UK.
No reports are ever made to congregations regarding the Societys finances or how much money from UK funds is transferred outside the country.
For a movement that used to promote the slogan 'seats free...no collections' the WTS has moved into the now you donate it - now you dont see it movement effortlessly.
Regarding lavish Assembly halls and the urging to be 'modest' - visit the Briotish branch to see how 'modest' the KH facilities (and others ) are there

sorry that i haven't posted for a while, been moving house and congregation over the last few weeks.. just thought that i will mention, the comments made by our co at the elders meeting on the friday of his visit.. with the elders starting the visits on the inactive in jan and feb, it was suggested by the society to start a week or so earlier to see how many have inactive ones have christmas decorations and so-on.. it was also suggested that if such ones are celebrating a pagan festival, it could be classed as false worship.
which is classified as a "self-disassociation offence" and hence an announcement could be made to the congregation.. my question is this, is it just our co taking things in to his own hands or is this now national or international policy.

why were neither n. knorr nor f.franz reproved for their obvious vocal dissension with the governing body?
if any r/f member had acted the way they had, they would have been df'd.
Knorr and Franz had no one to check them and any thoughts / commewnts they made were not judged by others - For most of Knorrs term he WAS the GB so no one would check him anyway
a few months back we had the usual elders/ms meeting with the circuit overseer during his visit.
there was a point that the co had emphasized and it brought me sick to my stomach anyone didn't put the effort to make such placements, that these publishers were in need of spiritual help and that we (elders/ms) should help such ones to do so.
talk about the pressure!

At too many CO visit elders / MS meetings I sat silently listening to drivel which indicated that the person who was spiritually weak was the CO...but I never had the courage to tell them soo.
How Jehovah must be sad to see his people not placing Books - Why some of them even consider that showing love for the brothers is more important than keeping the factories busy! How very sad that we dont all rush out now and place some books...well I have....I have just cleared my library to the dustbin as the most appropriate place and I wish I had a CO at hand to tell him exactly what a hypocrite he is and that he is welcome to join my books in the bin together with his demeaning, unchristian and destructive comments..
something that has been alarming to my jw family is the amount of teens ("young ones") that have bailed out of the organisation, never to return.. they use the excuse, as would most jw's that "satan is getting them - he knows young ones are vulnerable.".
if you want my opinion, young people are getting far more educated - they are becoming far more broad minded than they were say 10 or 20 years ago.
because of the slow yet sturdy slackening of the "no college" rule, many more young jw's are attending university or college than ever before, and with further education comes more knowledge, more interaction with reasonable and intelligent conversations with educated people and most importantly -use of the internet ("satans latest tool, as put by a jw i talked to recently).
Young one activities. special arrangements cost money, young ones do not contribute much so why bother? Cynical maybe but true

i have contributed financially to the cause of silentlambs.org and have, to a smaller extent, even promoted the website.
it is difficult enough to fathom the depth of hurt heaped on humankind, but impossible for me to understand how such suffering can be compounded with injustice, as i read experiences on silentlambs.org.
many fine points from those who are close to those involved..I do not know personally either RF or BB but would like to make some points
BB is a 'single issue' campaigner who from my understanding wants to be accepted as a JW and who fought his disfellowshipping etc. I am unaware of any doubts he has over the whole thrust of WT teaching.
RF is not a 'campaigner' but has dismissed Wt teaching in its entirety and presumably has no desire ever to be back in the fold.
Silentlambs as a concept is excellent but cannot continue as a 'one person' organisation - it needs to broaden its impact by having a structure - but then if it does is it not in danger of becoming another 'organisation' like the WT?
The WT must love the fallout from this whole sorry mess - people attacking either RF or BB should remember who/what the enemy is and it is not two men with differing opinions on some things.
I would like to see the Silentlambs Organisation serve as a focus and information point re the WT and its disgraceful history/ and continuing disgrace in protecting children. For BB I wonder how long this can go on?....does he want to be reinstated? if the WT changed certain points re child abuse would BB return? Silentlambs must become 'de-personalised' to be effective and that means BB must step back from the limelight.
In essence - if Silentlambs won all the concessions it demands the WT make what would be the position of BB and its supporters? Do they agree with the spirit appointed status of the FDS, for example? If not then they should examine the motives for focussing on the single issue involved - WT abuses everyone - not just children.
I am well aware from personal experience of how children are sexually abused and damaged by the present system - chiefly because of the 'trust' drummed in to children - trust in brothers who you would not want to know if you were not in the truth. This is what gives abusers access to humble innocent victims. Many who were abused as children in the organisation would never have been harmed but for coming into 'the truth' - the best we can do to protect others is to stop them falling into the same trap
after reading some posts on this forum, it is easy to see that some people here are extremely gifted.

remember how embarrassing it was to show up at someone's door on a holiday?when i was a teenager i went out with a very zealous pioneer sister on christmas day.we worked an upscale neighborhood of town and of course all the servants were off so they would answer the door themselves.i rang one doorbell and a lady came to the door and i could see her family inside sitting in chairs in a circle opening gifts.they all looked at me to see who in the world was calling on christmas,i suppose.i gave my presentation with a red face and she just looked at me and said"don't you know today is christmas?
"how embarrassing is that?so glad i don't have to do that anymore.
Only if it was a CO visit to force us out.....many did however with complete disregard for the householders, and the farce of Service Meetings were people came up with ways not to say "And You Too" if some one wished you "A Happy Christmas" - as if they were casting evil spells on you...what a mealy-mouthed waste of time
