  thanks gold, you gave me what exactly I was looking for and it worked he says he will eat pork now. I told him not to put to much faith in those preachers on tv. They are there for only one thing and thats your pocket book. Anyway thanks everyone for your comments and your help. Bless you all

  No he is not a Muslim but he listens to a show on Televiosion called the Shepards chapel and he says that the Shepard says that eating pork and he is going on the old testement where Moses set laws for the Isrealites. I cannot seem to get it into his head the meaning of Christ coming but he cant seem to put what I am saying together. I dont know if I am teaching him wrong or is his head so far up that he cannot hear anyone?

  the improper handling of my daughters abuse by the leaders (elders).

  being required to shun family members or you will be disassociated.

  Can we really find a single religion that does not have at least one thing we do not agree with? No because of imperfection in man its impossible. I have learned that it is better to worry about my own salvation than it is to worry about everyone elses. Everyone has there comfort and if it feels good to them then so be it. You are you for you and I am I for me. I think the most important thing to remember is to always be comfortable within yourself in whatever fits best no matter what we all decide to believe in.   Do we come here to "convince" ourselves?

  ok...so the other day my husband(he is still an active witness) starts questioning me about why i come to x-jw sites.. he said the reason people come to these types of sites,is to convince themselves that they made the right decision to leave the"truth".i told him i come here to get support from others who feel they were tricked into believing something that wasn't true.he knows i feel my life has been taken away from me because i wasted so many years following their doctrines.i told him it helps me to know i am not alone in my feelings.he is still convinced that people are afraid they are wrong,and just come here to keep finding reasons to stay away from the "truth".he doesn't understand that we know what the real truth is.. i was just curious what everyone else thought about this.do you feel we are "convincing" ourselves that we made the right decision to leave?
