If JWs disappeared, nothing would change appreciably in the world. They are a tiny drop in the bucket of world population.
They just hold outsize influence in their own minds.
and joined your ranks.... this means...youre talking about a people, that currently are pushing no sex till marriage.
that would end and join into the messages you currently push regarding youths and sex.
that would be sex, with condoms.

are they fearful that they are mistaken, so they must argue with everyone, and try to prove all otehr religions wrong, but their's right?.
i'm not talking about the well-known jw persistence, in which we all once shared.. i'm talking about nearly all brands of christianity, the witnesses and their other branded counterparts.
here are two incidents to demonstrate.. a week or so back, i read in a chinese newspaper of a complaint by two tibetan buddhist women in the city of xining, qinghai province, in western china.
I think I would've called that lady on her rudeness, FTS.
I remember feeling uncomfortable preaching and now I know I was uncomfortable because I was being rude.
I wish people had been honest and would've just told me I was being rude.
an athist made this casual statememt on another thread:.
this would suggest to me that there are at least some atheists that do have consistant beliefs.. .
as an atheist, how could he possibly trust the reason that suggests this to himself?
"Hello? Perry? Perry? Hello?"
The line has gone dead...
christians, should i attend kingdom hall meetings to discreetly "preach" to jws about the real jesus and the lies of the watchtower?.
.
i plan to go undercover and plant seeds into them.. .
The reason this man thought you were attacking him is that Witnesses have poor boundaries and a permeable sense of self.
In their eyes, God and their Organization are the same. They also sometimes mix themselves in there as "servants of God's Organization."
They also have poor boundaries with other JWs since they are all servants of Jehovah. Then this extends to those that the preach to.
Watch. You may have to defend your personal boundaries. Personally, I think that asking a perfect stranger to give you their phone number is a boundary violation.
so i am the weird case that i still believe in the jehovah's organization.
there are a couple of things that stop me from going.
is there anyone else out there that still believes?
True, they're not perfect, but the rub is that they claim they are. They claim they are the only true religion because only they are doing everything right.
You can't claim to be the only true religion whose leaders are inspired by God (a high standard) and then in the next breath claim imperfection as the reason they got things wrong. And, oops, sorry about that, folks
So, if they admit to being imperfect, then there's nothing inspired coming from them that needs to be obeyed at all costs!

Yes, keep us posted.
FaithfulWitness documented her personal bible study with 2 Witness ladies in several different threads on this forum. It was extremely interesting and had quite a few views.
You may want to look these up.
i can recall sometime ago in the 60`s 70`s or theirabouts,it when they first printed their own songbook must have been before the org.copyrighted their material, and the reason they did that is because some brothers were stealing the tunes ?
maybe modifying them and passing them off as their own for commercial gain?
( i know some of you are going to say wtf ?
Welcome, Calvin. You sound like you've just about had enough!
It's great to hear from folks who personally remember some of this stuff.
I remember the magenta songbook. The absolute worst song was, "Firm and determined in this time of the end, something something the good news to defend," and then something about faces...
It sounded absolutely evil.
who'd have thought it possible?
but that's a headline this morning in the canberra times.. us-cuba diplomatic breakthrough: obama and castro agree to thaw relations after prisoner exchange.
date: december 18, 2014 - 5:37am.
Yes, just watching this on the news. Apparently Obama still needs some type of approval from Congress, though not too sure about those details.
i listen to one of these all time in our hall.
she brings it up constantly about how they would do this or that but he has to work that saturday.
i think she should get a job and then he could find a lower paying 9 to 5 job..
Years ago you could support a family on one income. Now you can't in most cases.
if you are/were an active jw, you are now here on jwn so, for whatever your reasons, you woke up to some degree- hopefully a great degree.
so what i am saying may not apply to you.. i know that if i had not already left, i would have stormed out on the day they studied "overlapping generation.
" i am quite confident i couldn't have stayed for such an obvious switcharoo just to make the end seem imminent and try to explain how wts was wrong, but not entirely wrong in the past.. but i had to wonder how that change (or others) didn't cause most jw's to walk out.
This is a great comparison, OTWO. In real life, I don't know many adults who actually believe magic is real. They might go to a magic show just to be amazed at the slipperiness of the human mind or at the incapacity to see that things might be working differently than they at first seem. But, they don't believe it is actual "magic."
Children might be fooled. They don't have enough life experience to know what they don't know. Likewise, Witnesses don't have enough exposure to the real world to realize they might have been fooled. Children grow up and gain experience, but Witnesses stay in their own world without much exposure to critical thinking.
Like some have said, some people's minds are more predisposed to doing the critical thinking necessary to deconstruct the circular logic, and those are the ones who escape. But, those who just aren't critical thinkers and who like to be followers have a much more difficult time thinking outside of the Watchtower magic box.
