what is the society's current view on medical marijuana?
obviously smoking is a no-no, but what about edibles, or oils (think they're called tinctures)??.
.
You'd have to be smoking something to believe any of the horsesh*t that is coming out of Bethel nowadays. In fact, with all of the changes, flops, and wild-eyed Governing Body videos we've been seeing lately, I'm starting to wonder if THEY aren't smoking something in the super-secret GB Board Room.

Confession time. No one goes on to Youtube to see Mike. (ok, unless you're into guys) It's Kim and her sexy Brit accent that draw me in like some sort of siren song every time. That hair....those lucious lips.....that creamy skin.....then she talks with that accent and I'm putty. Except I'm not really. (lol)

These people need to stay back in their own county, with their Dark Ages barbaric religion. However I will say this: You don't extend your hand to shake in the arab world. I forget which hand anymore, but one of them is typically used to wipe one's buttocks after defacating. So it is considered a rude gesture to shake with that hand in the arab world. However, when coming to terms over a deal, using the other hand and shaking until a price is agreed upon is proper. So it's part religious, and part cultural barrier and ignorance.

so i'm having a pint and talking to the owner and his gf.. she's talking about her line of work - leads to my family history - and that my wife is in a strange religion.. the owner snorts, and says very disdainfully that his ex was a jehovah's witness.
i said bingo.. then the barmaid pipes in about her grandma and all of her aunts and uncles were witnesses, and were all out.
but the grandma has witness siblings, so went back after 20 years.
More EX-JW's than current JW's.....sounds good to me!
I was never baptized, my parents are deceased, so hence I am untouchable. F*ck you, WatchTurd Cult.

just interested in experiences any of you have had working for other witnesses or companies owned by witnesses.
i heard mutterings occassionally from other witnesses they would never work for another witness.
regardless of anything i said, the owner was adamant in his refusal to believe i had ever done anything more than being a delivery driver.
@ Rebel8: I would have literally kicked the sh*t out of that Elder's daughter for being such an underhanded piece of sh*t! Imagine, taking food out of you and your families mouth to feed their JW friends at a weekend BBQ!! I would have immediately quit, then kicked their azzes! That is just appaulling behavior. Screw them!
I've heard too many horror stories myself.....I would NEVER work for a JW - EVER!!

question fit for blondie types.. happiness book:.
"19 one tactic that he has used is by encouraging the view that there is no devil or satan.
he is like a criminal who spreads the idea that a crime syndicate does not exist, thus lulling persons into a false security.".

Was Jesus foretelling that there would be an evil slave class in the last days? No. Granted, some individuals have manifested a spirit similar to that of the evil slave described by Jesus. We would call them apostates, whether they were of the anointed or of the “great crowd.” (Rev. 7:9) But such ones do not make up an evil slave class. Jesus did not say that he would appoint an evil slave . His words here are actually a warning directed to the faithful and discreet slave.
Wow, what a set-up this line of reasoning is, and clever to boot. With this line of reasoning, they can very cleverly say that Ray Franz (and other Governing Body member thinking of a coup) can be immediately dismissed as being part of the Evil Slave Class and everything they say dismissed as heracy, no matter what spiritual backing and logic these present. Brilliant! Well played JW.org spin-docters, well played.

what was the most outrageous comment you ever heard during a wt study?.
.
please share your experiences..
@ Millie210:
It's hard to not be angry and bitter. I was born into this cult in 1979. My parents were exposed to the JW literature thru their youth due to accepting some publications throughout their youth. It helps to do research on the history of this cult, it's failed prophecies, etc. Reading books on psychology and how manipulators and pschopaths operate also helps, as it teaches you how to see and recognize how you were decieved, used, and manipulated, and controlled for so long. That has helped me immensely to get over this farce of a religion, and also helped me to see and weed out other abusive, toxic people in my life.
I'd say the only thing I really feel, is resentment for the fact that the WTBTS Cult stole my childhood, my prospects for education, etc. You can't get those things back. All those Assemblies and Conventions, spent sitting still as a child miserable listening to now what is considered "Old Light", and for what? I am now middle-aged with no prospect of even a Great Tribulation in sight, much less Armaggedon!!!! So much time lost to this cult, when instead my parents and I could have been at a park having a picnic, having fun at an amusement park or some other vacation. I never even went to an amusement park or even a movie theater until I was 15-16 years old!!!! How insane is that??? SAD.

to cut my long story short, having left the religion in 2006, my marriage with 2 young kids involved went through a fairly difficult time.
for a few years.
as i rebelled against the belief system i was astonished that having pointed out reasonable & logical objections, my wife just stood by the religion.
Short answer? Divorce. How do you feel about being in the exact same position 8 years from now, with kids 8 years older (and possibly baptized), and drinking the kool-aide? AND, you'll be 8 years OLDER and more miserable. Cut your losses, and save yourself and your childen.

howdy....well, what do you think?
of everything?
is it all crazy?
I now live with my first born daughter, two grandsons and my son-in-law. I help them pay off their mortgage so they can fulfill their lifelong dream of . . .
ugh! MOVING TO ALASKA and living in some god-forsaken wilderness in a cabin they build for themselves.
I kid you not. Can you imagine?
Actually, I think this dream is great. If you build your home right, it can be efficient and completely off the grid. Imagine having no gas, water, or electric bills? Have a simple 4WD Jeep to get into town. You wake up every morning, and look out onto nature's incredible scenery from the security of your chalet. No nosey neighbors (except curious bears and animals). Sounds like a slice of "Paradise" if you ask me. Also, I've heard Alaska's taxes or very low to non-existant. I wouldn't live up above the Arctic Circle, but Fairbanks, Jeunoa, or similar parts would be fine. I'd also settle for areas of Oregon and Washington state.
