Former DO comments on Overlapping Generations
by James Jack inbrother richard (dick) morlan, a former co & do for many years, now lives in gadsden alabama, usa.
he is 77 years old.
i saw him at a recent assembly in dekalb county alabama and ask him about the prospects of him dying in this "system of things".. his reply was, "i am going to make it till armageddon, but if i should die before then, then the governing body is going to have to add another overlapping generation to another overlapping generations"!.

I remember so many beloved JW's of old while I was a child growing up in the 80's. They all basically said the same thing, that The End just HAS to come before they die. They were sure. Positive. It was imminent, because the WT Society said so. Guess what? They're all DEAD. ALL of them. My grandparents and parents too. They live now, only my memories. -

Lame and werid sample presentations at the meeting
by purrpurr inthey used to let bro's and sis's do the sample presentation and give them the leeway to put it in their own words thereby making it more natural.
not so anymore!
these days the sample presentations are beamed from mother website.. they seem to have been written by someone who has no experience of how people talk in real life.

Can we see these presentations? Has anyone uploaded them on Youtube? If someone could post a link, that would be great (and comical) - Thanks!

For some reason, this young "Sailor" reminds me more of young Joseph Smith, AKA: The founder of Mormonism.

The GB's answer (like in the past): Just bribe more Mexican officials to look the other way. Theocratic Warfare and all. -

Last Night I was surrounded by Jehovah's Witnesses . . .
by Terry inlast night was the "body viewing" at the funeral home for the jw whose friendship and influence resulted in my getting baptised in 1963. we weren't just friends.
we had a david & jonathan bromance :) no seriously, we loved each other dearly.. it's only in the last 2 years he shunned me.
before that, he would sneak behind the curtain of stealth, so to speak, and we'd sit for hours each and every week chatting, reminiscing and sometimes arguing about the truth about the "truth.".

Those same people that gave you such "warm fuzzies" at the funeral, if you saw them again next week would shun you like you are a rapid apostate dog. They are in a cult, plain and simple.

Breaking news - from reliable insider source - GB member Sanderson to wed
by sir82 innot only that, but apparently it is to a transgender female.. new light wt article regarding "born that way" transgenders as a "conscience matter" to be released in the august 15 wt.. more details here..

Sanderson would have to desire intimacy with another human being before he could be wed. This would mean he'd have to break it off with his hand, or possibly TOMO III's hand. So sad. -

Out on Facebook
by disillusioned 2 ini am just venting because my sister has put on facebook that i am no longer "in the truth"!
i have kept a very low profile for years and have silently faded.
many witnesses i have bumped into are very friendly towards me, some from other congregations may not even be aware that i dont go anymore.

Right on Facebook, I'd ask her for "Two Witnesses" to your supposed lack of faith, then also speak up against her slanderous remarks, which could be cause for "stumbling you out of the Truth."
OMG, I would sooooooo turn this behaviour back on her. I throw out about how she is showing a lack of "Christian love", and not showing a true "fruitage of the spirit."
In short, I would make her look like the total ASS that she so obviously IS.
What a C*nt!

1958 Convention Program. 8 days from 9am till 9pm. Anyone attend?
by StopTheTears inhow in the world did they justify this torture?
imagine the children forced to sit in the summer heat at yankee stadium for 12 hours a day.
for 8 days.

I remember the early 19-8ooooooo's. Back then, District Conventions were like 4-5 days. It was HELL. Especially if you were assigned to the concrete monster known as Veterans Stadium, in Philadelphia, PA. I was hyperactive as a child. I could have jumped out of my skin I was so bored, and the echo in that acoustically retarded stadium made listening nearly impossible.
As a grown adult, I often wonder about the sanity of my parents, that would drag a young child and their elderly (65+) yr old mother along to the stifling heat of the Vet in June or July. Pass me a grape Shasta, before I pass out!

Is the 'growth™' still being hyped?
by punkofnice inwhen i was a member of watchtower corporation, i regularly heard how it must be the true religion because of the growth™.
(phenomenal, apparently).. i wonder if they still hang onto this?
has it been boasted about at meetings recently?
-

"Growth" is always hyped, because it's positive. "Decline" would be negative, and might send up a red flag for anyone with half a brain.
Scientology does the exact same thing; perpetually peddling "growth" as proof of their Org.
Funny, Scientology was always referring to themselves in "Organizational" terms, and now it seems the WatchTower has done the same. It's the Org this, and the Org that. Really sickening and creepy, especially if you studied anything about Scientology. (in relation to it being a cult)
