Viv, I have been looking back, I am sure I will find it. It was '88/89.
I found the entry in my diary LOL on 24th Oct 1988 I wrote "Can talk to disassociated ones now, I spoke to Glenn". I vaguely recall the talk so there must have been an article around that time with more...who ever has a good library might be able to look it up.

you only live once right **grin**.. i am from sydney australia - was brought up as a jw and have been disfellowshipped once...when i was 21 yo currently 29. i only came back in because i am terrified of armageddon.....living in fear is not good for the mind!!.

Yes I do know that fear only too well. It can be a painful process to face and overcome it. I hope you are coping with it well.

i've got the mother of all headaches thats lasted for a few days now.....you know the type of one that makes you think brain tumour/meningitis/encephalitis/ i'm about to have a stroke, what if i die in the night and they find me 2 days later etc etc........reckon it must be stress.
why do i always think the worse when i get something like this?...it always gives rise to feelings of panic/anxiety and they are the worst feelings ever.

laudanum was an opiate that had been imported from overseas.

the gossip had gotten around that i no longer "went to my meetings like i should.
" i've been inactive for a year and haven't been to a meeting for several months.

When the rules changed and you could talk to DA'd people, I went and visited her, she had moved on from her WT life but it was good to talk to her. Now I am happy for her to have found the truth about The Truth.
during a recent talk our district overseer made this statement:.
"for some lying becomes habitual, for others its coerced.
very very few individuals are truthful under any circumstances.
It must be a "conscience" call as to who gets the best truth and who gets mediocre truth...or maybe there will be an article on how to be truth-worthy in a future WT.

I am glad that you are indeed alive, and that I may better get to know you. If only to share funny kid stories :) and try to support each other in our "death".
i was never df'd or da'd.
i am curious if you ever were and were reinstated, what was it like to be shunned and treated as a non-person while sitting in the rear of the hall?
i can only imagine it to be the utmost humiliation on top of a public disfellowshipping and can't imagine having to go through it.
At the time, it is like some weird mental self-mutilation that you go through. It is almost like you want to feel bad and loathesome because you turned you back on Jehovah so the worse you feel the "better" if you follow me. The agony of it can be exquisite...and going to meetings really served to heighten that destructive mindset. It becomes a self-perpetuating attitude.
Being reinstated didn't regain me any self-worth. It only served to further highlight how "bad" I had been in the eyes of my congregation and how undeserving I was of forgiveness. Heck, the sister that was appointed to study with me when I was reinstated even told me there was no way Jehovah would let me through Armageddon, I was so lucky just be able to associate with his people now, I should be very grateful for that and accept it. (Now that's encouraging and uplifting isn't it?!)
