Being a lady and all, I NEVER did that...but it sure would have been a riot if I had! On a side note, didn't you hate it when someone let a SBD (silent but deadly) one go and the whole hall would reek of rotten eggs. All the kids would be giggling and holding their noses...ahhh the small joys!

..after you were baptised, and how did you feel?.
i went for a swim, having got baptised at orchard beach, new york.
i was disappointed that i didn't feel any sort of warm glow.. when my dad was baptised, it was at epsom circuit assembly, london.
I thought I was pretty darn special, I wandered around the convention at lunch sporting my wet hair like some sort of "badge of honour", and felt important when people congratulated me and called me "sister". But once my hair dryed out and we went home after the convention, nothing had changed and I still felt an outcast in my congregation.
at my hall, in the spring and summer, it would almost always be so stuffy in there that i couldn't breathe!
i swear the mugginess in there was stifling!
i don't know how many times i was there and couldn't take it anymore and left.....as soon as i'd open the door and go outside it was like a cold front just came through!
The fist hall I remember was not actually a KH just a community hall the cong had to hire. Its roof leaked when it rained, and the tin creaked in summer with the heat...you'd nearly pass out with it I was only 4, my little bro had to have been 2.5...not a great place for such little ones surely?

well actually it wasnt a meeting, it was my grandma's funeral but it may as well been the 'special talk' for the year with all the bullshit they were spewing.. the 'brother' giving the 'eulogy' (haha..) was an elder from my former congregation, my parents current congregation and to my knowledge (i'm 99% sure) has never met or seen my grandmother before that day.
neither had any of the other jw's that were there 'supporting' my family...well the jw family anyway, the rest of us dont need support since we are df'd.. i hadnt been to a meeting for almost 2 years now and i cant tell you how hard it was sitting through the twisting of scriptures and arrogance know it all attitude coming from the speaker.
my bf and i just looked at each other in disgust while scripture after scripture was read to prove the dead are just dead and their soul is dead and all we have to do is wait till the ressurection if we want to see them again.

Your grandmother sounded like a real character...she would have no doubt been very touched by her sister's kind words and your presence there.

well march and april passed, more witnessing, placing mags and going on calls.
