The only thing I can think of now in both your cases is Jesus came, not for the righteous but for the sinners and not for the rich but for the poor. Who is anyone that can say 'You can not get into God's Kingdom because you smoke or some other reason thats not explicitly mentioned in Paul's tyrade in Thessalonianas about fonicators, idolitors etc. Who are we to Judge. Show your father Romans chapter 2 were it says that those who judge will get it back at them more.

by hotspur inmy favourite uncle died about two years ago (non-witness) and my mother couldn't tell me .
earlier today i went round to the cathedral square of the city where i work for some lunch and i had the misfortune to sit near to an ol'boy witnessing to some people who were too polite to respond.
he kept going on about truth.

i mean yeah, knockin on their doors and showing up and taking books from the kh is fun and all, but kinda gettin stale.
my next big one is gonna be at the next memorial, where im gonna wear a big wool jacket and top hat as i chug the wine and eat the bread, then stand up and yell "praise the lord im healed!

It seems to me that Rutherford sent a letter trying to budy up to Hitler saying we are not against you and we hate jews too, but when thay didnt get the responce he wanted then Rutherford started publicly and through writings saying all sorts of bad things about hitler. So did not Rutherford seal the fate of the JW's in Germany? If nothing was said and Rutherford stayed out of the political arena like Jesus said to do, then maybe the JW's would not have suffered as bad as they did. Am I wrong on this?????

after reviewing the chapter as a whole and asking appropriate questions, i went back up to verse 11 and sincerely asked, .
"by the way, how are comparative verses like romans 14:11, isaiah 45:23 and phillippians 2:9-11 interpreted in your faith with the same language being attributed to the father in the ot and jesus in the nt?

Jesus never took credit for himself and always referred everything to his father even prayer. Also If Jesus was God or part of God then Satan would have never tempted him they way he did when jesus was in the wilderness 40 days. The Hebrews were monotheists, but around them were many nations that were into trinities. Just a study of history alone, one can see how and why the trinity became part of the christian ideas later on after christ died. Wordyword, unfortunately there's not much you can do except read your bible and take comfort in Christ message. Jesus is the 'way the truth and the light' not some man made ORG. The JW religion denies people the kingdom because they say that only 144K can partake of the Emblems and the bible says in John chapter 6 that 'anyone' can and will receive life. You may say to your parents that you wish to come back but need him to help you regain your faith in the ORG. and that you hope he can help you with some of your doubts. Then put together some nice questions as well as some scriptures that blows up the ORG's thinking and ask away. Maybe in time you can put enough doubt that he will loosen up on you. While you're doing this remember to continue to show him what Jesus did and preached 'Love your enemies' maybe this will help too.
