i have recently been studying the myths and legends of other pre- jewish cultures.

these stories and beliefs are all pre dating the writing of the jewish torah and the new testament.

I would read the book I mentioned above first, its great for setting of the table and will help show that the Jews just copied these stories then changed them to suit their own agenda. Then I would read The Bible Unearthed, by Israel Finkelstein. This book is an archaeology's understanding of what the real Israel and that area was all about and who the people of that area were really. Another one to get is the Egyptian book of the dead by Dr. Ogden Goelet and Dr. Raymondo Faulkner. This book has some of the best illustrations of the scroll and if you study it well you'll see that most of what we are taught in the NT about ones spirit going to heaven, our hearts conditions being judged and they idea of living in a paradise all come from this much older religion.

In response to Brotherblues, its important to bring out to any JW that your talking to that these stories could be said to just be repeated orally down through Noah until finally written down by the Moses etc. Yet there is one major problem all the stories involved multiple gods and not just one and his adversary Satan. In fact this adversary we know as Satan is in fact the very God that saves Noah, is the creator with help of mankind and is the father of Adam. He is also the one who confuses the language, so you may want to ask the JW "Who's god are you really worshipping?"

I am currently reading the book, The Chaldean account of Genesis by George Smith. really good book and it goes over all the myths in the bible that were found to be written thousands of years before the Jews even existed. The creation myth of Ziusudra is the most fascinating to me because it covers and talk about the Watchers which were the gods that came down and mated with woman to create "great men of renown" (the nephilim) of the bible as well as some other good stuff I have not found written in any other book. Its also amazing to discover the Evolution of the god the Sumerians first called Hea and as time went on he became known as Ea, Enki, El, Cronos, Satan, and is part of the personality of the god we all know as Jehovah.

Is Prophecy important?

i have recently been studying the prophecy's, and i was wondering if they are of any importance at all?

To answer your question, is prophecy important I would say yes. The fact that I can think of six off the top of my head that did not come true shows me that the bible is not a holy book written by god. The six I speak of are the destruction of Trye by the Babylonians they were unsuccessful and it was later rebuilt after Alexander a Greek destroyed it. 2. Damascus to be destroyed and be a pile or just a heap again didn't happen after the verse was written in Isaiah. 3 the Babylonians were to conquer Egypt again didn't happen. 4 Egyptian's were to find themselves speaking Hebrew or some other Semitic language again didn't happen. 5 Jesus told his followers that some of them would not die before he returned, again didn't happen.

6 the Davidic line would always rule, again if there was even a Davidic line it stopped after the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem in 587 B.C.E.. Yes some will argue that a kingly line did still exist and one even was present after they returned from Babylon (if you believe the Bible) but the Persians did not allow a king on the throne at Jerusalem and no Davidic king was again on the throne until Jesus supposedly showed up over 400 years later.

I'm sure there is more prophecies that I don't mention like the one in the last chapter of the bible where 5 times its says Jesus would be back very soon, but hey whose counting.

We really need to get these type of videos out there. I posted another one on this site from a girl from the UK. If more of these get out there and we help to get them going viral like this one is the JWs will be in big trouble. Sure they probably won't see it, but imagine when they are out in field service when they go to talk to people they get and ear full back from people who have seen these type of videos, awesome.

Getting married when you are spiritually out

i met this amazing girl about 6years ago at my local congregation.

i was 100% in back then.

about 3years ago i woke up spiritually and kept it undercover till a few months ago.. this girl is still very in (but she doesnt really do the things a reaaal jw should do.

She probably loves you, so use this to your advantage. Share with her some TTaTT a little at a time maybe even have to plant some seeds or ask some leading questions. She will want to please you and this will allow you the advantage of pushing her a little farther then maybe most. Make sure she is awake before you marry her. If she is not or unwilling then I would suggest you move on and find another girl. As hard as that seems your life with a JW Zombie is not worth it especially if kids get in to the mix later. As a last straw tell her if she's not willing to look at some TTaTT with you then how can she respect you as her spiritual head and how will she ever know when the Man of Lawlessness takes over like it says in the bible, if she will not even do what the bible says and keep watch?

this includes judicial meetings and so-called shepherding calls.elders have even been warned at their elder training classes that if they allow themselves to be recorded the watchtower society will not defend him in court if they are sued.elders fear being recorded because they do not want to be held accountable and responsible for their words and actions.

no elder has ever given me a cogent reason for refusing people their rights to record interactions with elders.what this creates is a unfair power balance between the elders and anyone they are talking to or judicially dealing with.

Being lied to by parents

i mean pretty much all parents lie to their children at some point about something and usually it was to protect them or just wasn't something important and it normally doesn't affect the relationship between them and their child.

but how does a person reconcile and recover their appreciation for their parents after finding out almost everything they taught them was an evil lie?

i don't mean going back to the same relationship as i know that is gone, especially if the parents are still deceived.

I was very pissed off to find out ttatt and realize my mother got us into a religion that ruined my childhood. Then after some time I realized that she didn't know any better and was fooled her self. In the end your parents my not of lied by they themselves were deceived.

As he continues to bring out the sources also seam to believe that they bought both main properties in the Warwick area for less the 20 million. So are they lieing or is the GB going to spend 980,000,000 in developing the property? Even if the sources are wrong and the GB spent more on these new properties how much realistically would they have spent, since we know from their tract record that they buy steal of a deal properties even toxic cleanup sites which is what this property is.

when you look at the society's literature, it is pretty comical to see how important they believed they were.

it seems to be not as bad under the new regime but they certainly believe they are a special people.
