I saw a picture of a piece of amber where in side it was a spider about to eat or kill a flying insect. I think it may have been a bee. Anyway this piece of amber is basically a fossil meaning it several 100 thousand of years old. This one fossil completely blows up thier animals only eating one another just about 4000 years ago.

With up to 70% of young ones leaving what's the future of the jw's?
by karter inthey wlll always have new people coming in but the majority of the congro's are getting older particularly the inner city ones were it is expensive to live.
they are struggling to get men to be elders and m.s's and this can only get worse as very few young ones stay around.

All those that leave a certain percentage still believe in it so some always come back. I think with all the problems With the cult and the internet more people will wake up when out but again theres always those that stil believe and come back. -

Why are JWs so sensitive to criticism?
by Half banana ini remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.

Thier brains are turned off and they like that thier ears have been tickled to think thier in gods organization. Reality kills thier pathetic lives so don't criticize.

Numbers for 2016, it not over yet, plus they lie about everything else why do you think thier numbers are accurate? The evidence seems to point to less the 8 million members probably more like 3-4 million baptised.

What Comes After the Watchtower Collapse?
by schnell ini was going to put this in my thread about pyramid schemes, but i thought it's discreet enough to warrant its own.
1) there are many faithful jws.
2) there are many men and women who could take control and fill the void if the watchtower collapses.

They stopped serving food am I correct? If this is so then that's huge!!!! Maybe they will go bye bye or turn into something small very soon. I mean thier already small almost non significant but hopefully much smaller sooner.
Not serving food is huge to me!!!

Yep my mom started studying with the jws after they taught her that Christmas was a pagan holiday. Yep left a decent Christian church started studying with them and the world wide church of God. Both groups were teaching the end was going to come in 1975. My mom and dad denied they ever thought the end was going to come and this was being pushed in 75 but ironically my mom got her mother in the cult and she was baptised in the summer of 1975 .
I think the reality was that with her studying with two groups pushing the same message that she surely New about 1975 and was in a hurry to get her mom in. Then when nothing happened her memory just got all bad and she can't recall.

Why Is it the Girls who Hang in There?
by snugglebunny inhaving seen many, many people leave the org over the years, i have to say that, when it comes to married couples, it's almost always the man who makes the first move to leave.
conversely, when it comes to being converted into the witnesses, more often than not it's the wife who joins up first.
although that wasn't the case with my own parents, my father became converted and my mother followed very reluctantly..

I think if it wasn't for woman there would of never been an organized religious group, ever.

"The G.B. is neither inspired nor infallible"
by smiddy inthat admission in the feb.17 ,study edition of the watchtower , " who is leading gods people today ?
" "the governing body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it (they/we) can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction .".
have the many jehovahs witnesses past and present who have lost their lives by refusing blood transfusions due to the prohibition on blood tranfusions by jehovahs witnesses really got the sense of this statement ?.

I think they print these statements every so often to protect themselves and the Borg from someone suing them or possible criminal charges when someone following them dies. They then can show these statements to the court and say "see we never" . These statements are thier get out of jail and or lawsuits documents.

I have met and spoke to RL on several occasions. After he left they asked him to work on a project for several more years and he did so even though he was no longer a believer in thier doctrine. This project became the insight books replacing Ray Franz Aid book.
He RL has studied Ancient Greek and Hebrew and maybe one if not the smartest man that ever worked in the writing department at bethel. I think he maybe even was considered to be a GB member if only he had started partaking. He got rapped up in to the chaos that was going on at bethel because he had helping Ray Franz with the Aid book. In the end he was able to escape the purge.
He still is a bible believer and like most bible believers when you ask him pointed questions on certain bible verses that seem to condemn the book his mind has a way of explaining it away even if his explanation makes no sense, cognitive dissonance I would think.
All in all very nice humble guy and his take on the Bible is very much more Christian then the Borgs. If some how him and Ray could of ended up in charge of the cult, all of us would be happily in the religion instead of out of it.
