  Helping my husband wake up, need advice.

  my husband is dfed but he is a prime example of someone who was a puppet for the watchtower.

  i was able to wake him a little with the sex abuse scandal.

  he was an elder and is very familiar with those rules.

  May just want to show him the scripture where Jesus says where there is one or two there I will be also. Then going down that line show him john chapter 3 where he says all those who believe are saved and have eternal life. Show him this from many bibles or the Greek interlinear because it doesn’t say you have to do works like the WT says to be saved. John chapter 6 confirms this because they ask jesus what they have todo and he tells them, not works,. When he brings up James “faith without works is dead” show him Ephesians 2:8-9

  Then you can run down the list of people god used. Noah, Abraham, Joseph, and others but except the nation of Israel no organization. Jesus teachings again were against an organization or a temple etc.

  Anyone think Assemblies will stop?

  not completely but the expensive renting of halls or assembly hall ownership.

  maybe with streaming they could have assemblies at the kh and stream the program.

  i bet they cut costs in a lot of ways.

  Accounts report at Circuit Assemblies to go away

  i was at the regional convention and asked an elder why is that at the assemblies their is an accounts report but not at the conventions?

  he said, well actually they got a letter and in it said that in a little while they will do away with the accounts report stating how much the assembly costs for the weekend and just go to donation basis like at the conventions.. my first thought was, "they will donate even less now.".

  anybody else hear about such a thing?.

  i'd like to know why you no longer believe in an "invisible presence" (1874/1914), and who it is that is depicted as appearing in your summer convention video riding in from the clouds on a white horse (like christ) and with a bow and arrow like the first horsemen of the apocalypse (who rides alone, then followed by the other three horsemen) and the army from heaven clothed in white linen who are supposed to ride with the faithful and true (who carries a sword, and is not to be confused with the imposter) is, please.. video w/ lyrics and scripture as commentary: https://www.facebook.com/angelamarieglass/videos/10107996987100648/ the first horseman of apocalypse is clearly the person, as he's carrying a bow and arrow.

  however, why is he appearing as-if christ (with christ's "faithful, loyal, and chosen" accompanying him) with a bow and arrow to rescue you?.

  my mil came by to drop some pressure on my wife to go to the three day this weekend.

  she told her that she wants our baby to live forever and that she wants us to come back.

  apparently people would be “so happy” to see us return to the fold.

  this is my understanding on the generation doctrine.. and i actually think might be correct!.

  watch this video and see what you think.... i regret that the sound on this is pretty bad, but i’d be grateful if people considered the material presented here.

  Mathews chapter 1 lists several generations each generation is listed as the father or the son. The Bible also makes it clear that a generation is 40 except in some special circumstances like the mighty ones that may live to 70 or 80, well we’re well past 80 years for the generation that will not pass away!

  The original generation that was talked about by Rutherford was born about 1900.

  my dad died a couple years back (not how you thought this would start, i know).

  he was an elder, and a very emotionally abusive father, well before the point where he ever shunned me.

  he died pretty much penniless, and never would buy life insurance or anything.

  don’t know how i ended up here but no one who understands will listen, or any one who will listen doesn’t understand.

  i grew up in the “truth”, i was baptised at 17 as it was encouraged by the elders.

  i really didn’t understand what i was getting into.

  It’s a tough slow process and one of the best ways to deal with is make friends out side the cult and in time you can spend more time with them and very little with cult family.

  Has the Governing Body ever been right?

  i asked this question to a relative after mentioning several situations where teachings were changed or readjusted (new light) and they have two reasons.

  yes, they are correct because look at how the preaching work has grown through the decades and the advancements in witnessing and the second reason was the doctrine of the trinity and how the society opposes that.

  i didn’t really have a response, especially for the trinity doctrine.. does the governing body have the rejection of the trinity belief correct?.

  I have researched this and I can not find one decade in their history where they taught things that held true or didn’t have to be changed later because of it not being accurate.

  As far as their preaching work, you can look at 1 Corinthians chapter 15 and it explains in detail what the good news is. JWs don’t preach the good news.

  Point 2. The first three councils delt with the evolution of Christ finally saying he was both man and god part of a three personality. Yes thier are scriptures the seem to indicate jesus separate from his father, but I believe this is because the scriptures where written and changed over time to reflect the early Christians beliefs as they evolved over time. For example One can see changes about his birth and mother from gospel to gospel. Having a human mother was a later idea possible inserted after the council of Ephesus.

  i just had a thought of clarity regarding the jw explanation for this doctrine.

  they explain that satan challenged god regarding his right to rule.

  god failed to prove his right to rule.

  I don’t think it was just made up by WT. This is what many other Christian religions have had to teach otherwise god looks like a big dick just doing nothing all the while people suffer.
