when a jw is told thier whole lives that this is the truth, the true religion of god and that all others are false and other do not use or even own bibles etc. pretty soon one believe all the crap and doesnt even bother to check and see. Its just old fashion brainwashing and i'm just my self seeing how the brainwashing really is. And when they do get a new drop of new light they, some just eat it up like its something so special, all the while not knowing a thing. Its really so sad, but on another note they may get through judgment do to ingnoreance but the leaders well thats a whole different situation. I don't want to be by any leader when Jesus is doing the judging.

How IGNORANT can you be and still be a Jehovah's Witness in GOOD standing?
by Terry inas i have said many times, i did not really study jw teachings in depth until i went to prison.. i had a period from 1959 to 1967 when i---sort of----could explain things to a shallow depth.
once i entered that profound place in my head (while in federal prison) when everything got serious.....i entered a secret room, so to speak, where.
all the mysteries were hidden!.

Most-Ignored Scriptures by JWs
by Mad Sweeney inthe watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

We have been taught that preaching the good news is all that matters and we all must do our part as ministers so they ignore these 2 scriptures.
James 1;27 Pure religion before god, is to look after orphans and widows.
james 3:1 not many should become teachers knowing they will recieve a stricter judgement.
And then this is a big one, when did satan get cast down out of heaven 1914?
luke 10:18 And Jesus said 'I say satan fall like lighten from heaven.

Lot's of talk on the July Watchtower?
by noonehome inso i've heard lots of talk from within about the 'new light' in this watchtower...i'm yet to look at it in any detail.
i'm kind of surprised actually...i first heard about it here before it was even available but close to the time it did come out people started bringing it up - even our co.. some say things like "have you heard about this?
" or "big changes," or "allot of things they said we believed, i didn't realize,"(lots of that) or "brain-overload" or " too much information, but i've never felt more pumped up" or "it's soo exciting to see jehovah's spirit lead his organization..." or "it requires time to sink in, but it's a good feeling!

here it is all in a nut shell, the GB must see themselves as kings ruling with christ since they believe Jesus started his kingdom in 1914, all of the new testament bible was written just for the anointed. The great crowd is nothing but a buch of loosers here to help them, that why Rutherford called us Jonandabs origanally and we could not partake of the emblems, get baptized or even attend the memorial celebration. With this understanding started by Rutherford they now see themselves as our leaders and we have to follow them loyaly in order to get access to the kingdom since Jesus is not our mediator (just thiers) and the new covenant is only for them.
This new magazine is more of that just slapping everyone in the face with thier exalted selves. Trying to get even more loyalty out of the rank and file as were approaching the 100 years of then 1914 lie. They really do look like the 'man of lawlessness'
Whats really sick, is because the rank and file are so stupid, most do not understand any of this and are commiting Idolitry.

Where else to go.I sticking up for the WTS.
by joe134cd innow i am going to do a rear thing here and i am going to stick up for the wts.
i realise that the wts hasn't got the best of track record, and sure they have made mistakes.
but if i was to go to another church wouldn't they still have the same issues.

I'm with problemaddic, the fact that their so arragant and unwilling to let any one discuss anything contrary to thier views is sickening. Their policies with shunning and thier blood doctrine are also a big problem. I would quit tomorrow over thier blood doctrine if it were not for family.

READ YOUR BIBLE OR BIBLES study topics on this site and site like 2001translation.com paridisecafeforum etc. the more you learn from ex jw's and other ones that have bible knowledge the better your faith will be. Also educate youself enough so you dont go of and just start believing some other christian doctrine, learn to be a borean, your faith then will grow.

James 2:26 - "faith without works is dead"
by leaving_quietly ini was contemplating this verse this morning... what did james mean by "works"?
and it hit me like a bolt of lightning.. now, wts would have us believe these "works" are preaching and meetings.
however, could that be what james was referring to?

You know it Lisarose, and they so indactrinate you that the congregation does in deed judge one another. it all about staying busy preaching the word never mind that we do little for the sick or the poor. If one is a pioneer then thier special but if another is a regular meeting goer and makes it out in service maybe a couple times a month thier judged as being a lesser person even though behind every ones noses this person maybe contributing a $1000 per month to the worldwide work.

Here here, leaving_quietly you hit the nail on the head about being a JW. Its all about works with the JW's. My wife and i have been JW's for 40 years and recently we have had some marriage problems. Instead of her staying home more and working with me on our issues, when she thought i was leaving her she just went out in service more. Everything about the religion is slavery.

nice post Villagegirl, i like his site and the fact that hes willing to discuss concerns about the JW religion and really put alot of biblical thought to it. But hes still growing so in time.
