i'm just going to ask 'since rutherford was the first Faithful and discreet slave his first meal was the finishmystery and the 1925 debacle were 80 percent of his followers left.' 'So how is this food working out and all the food since' 1941, 1975, 2000, THIS GENERATION WILL BY NO MEANS PASS AWAY, etc.

Is it common to,,,
by label licker inhave a local needs on apostasy, have everyone shun you, have no shepherding calls since you left for over a year, and now a jc tomorrow evening????????.
spoke to branch committee as well as co and they said to go and if we were treated unfairly then to call the co. don't get it.
the co would have known about the local needs talk on apostasy and says if we were treated unfairly to call him.

I would go in blazing with love that is showing how loving Jesus was and how the Good News was about Jesus and the 1969 Interlinear says right there in greek 'Lord' Not Jehovah, infact read the whole chapter them its obvious that its taking about Christ to his father. Read Acts chapter 9 where the whole chapter again talks about there following Jesus and not Jah. Kill them with all the wt literature thats wrong and ask if chosen after a 4 year inspection why did the holy spirit and Jesus feed the Faithful and Discreet Slave all wrong food? Show them in the King james bible luke 21:8 and ask 'if we are in the last days then isn't Jesus talking about us here?'
Hopefully when its over, you of course will be executed anyway but maybe you'll get through to one of the elders.
One final question to ask is 'If Jesus is the Good news and the bible tells us this over 100 times and we can know the father through him yet we don't preach this instead we preach about a kingdom and God and not much about Jesus, clearly a different message, doesn't that make us the Apostates?????

Can this logic be refuted?
by notsurewheretogo ini was an elder until march 2012 until i resigned.
i then stopped going to meetings in october 2012 and have enjoyed 9 months of freedom that i have found to be jouful!
i loved learning ttatt and sites like this and jwfacts.com have been excellent.. i told the elders that i needed a break and that they should not contact me unless it was a social visit and true to their word they have done that.

I threw out some of this very same logic and all they could say was Jehovah can fix it, Jehovah can resurrect, give Jehovah more time. Then they politely told me that I could quit at any time if I didn't think this was the truth.

I'm willing to bet that when a DA letter is sent to the elders that they don't really read it, maybe just scan through to find where you DA your self but thats it. They would not want to actually read the thing and read something that may pull the wool from their eyes. Maybe some of the ex elders on this forum can gives us more details.

WW I, the Gentile Times, and the Last days...the not so exact science of chronology
by Separation of Powers inessentially, the jw position regarding the end of the gentile times and the significance of 1914 revolve around a principal element, namely, that the "great war" (ww1) was an indication of the anger of the dragon, i.e satan, after being cast out of heaven per revelation 12:7-9 and the start of the sign of the last days.
this has always been a sticky point for the organization....why?.
because, based on their chronology, the gentile times ended in october 3/4 of 1914 with the last days commencing from that point on.

The whole argument is stupid, remember they used the great war originally to show that the tribulation started, but by 1960's they said the tribulation was now a future event. The end times talked about by jesus says wars and reports of wars no big deal and until the great tribulation breaks out any war is irrelevant. So with this in mind ask any JD next time you see them 'hey since the great tribulation did not break out in 1914 and Jesus said wars and reports of wars but not to worry then is there and relevance to WW1?' Watch them get all weirded out and then run away.

last friday i got a message on my classmates account from alice, a jw girl i hadn't seen in over 40 years.
i checked her profile and in her current photo she is wearing a native american necklace and earrings with tribal or religious symbols.

You should have known that when she asked this question that she was still a witness, no non witness would have asked you this.

Bible printing, a loss of money for the WTS
by oppostate inso i brought this up in another thread... but i think it needs its own discussion.. having had one of the new grey leatherette and silver edged bibles with the new appendixes in my hand.
i immediately thought of all the custom covered nwt bibles you see some publishers sporting at meetings.
also the fact that the co's and wives who'd been given one had to turn it back in seemed very off-putting.. .

Field Service Reports Count More than Showing Love - Ray Franz CF Book
by flipper ini've always suspected this was the wt society's view when i was in the jehovah's witness organization - but never knew the head of the writing committee karl adams had written a letter to nathan knorr ( then wt president ) recommending a change regarding reporting field service time as it wrongly emphasized jw members being seen as mainly being approved due to field service statistics - instead of emphasizing christian qualities of love, kindness, peace, etc.. karl adams had been personally handpicked by nathan knorr to be the head of the writing department.
in 1971 he wrote a letter to knorr which he wanted shared with the entire governing body as well .
i'll share the main parts of that letter.. on pg.

The person that posted about an elder beating his wife at home in private then getting a lot of hours in service and hes considered a fine guy, reminds me of someone similar. A man at my last hall had his first child and didn't want it, so his wife had to take on extra work to pay for raising the child because he would not do so. Obviously he a poor loser that could barely take care of himself, but hey he get the needed hours in service and bamb, hes appointed an elder. This guy is a dumb as they come and can not give a talk to save his life but hey he's probably doing JC meetings too.

Are You Interested In Religion Of Any Sort At This Point In Your Life?
by minimus inpersonally, i respect that everyone has choices to believe whatever they want to believe.
i have no interest in joining another religion....what about you?.
-
Crazyguy
I have a better understanding of the bible now and more interest in it, but yeah no religion per se. I do have a friend that was raised a JW and left when 13 and has gotten spiritual lately and he found a church where they worship seriously but they also know he doesn't believe every one of their traditions and their OK with it, so thats what i Like.
