quote from "christianity today" - february 2nd 2001:.
witness leaders accused of shielding molesters.
former and current jehovah witnesses question a policy they say discourages leaders from reporting abuse.. by corrie cutrer | posted 2/2/01 .
[J.R.] Brown said he is aware that numerous cases have been posted on Internet sites such as www.silentlambs.org or www.freeminds.org detailing pedophilia within the Jehovah's Witnesses church.
Well, if he's seen freeminds.org, then he's seen this forum since freeminds links this forum at the Netsoup.
I wonder how JR Brown not have a conscience after reading the abuse stories, the false prophecies, doctrinal changes, etc.
He amazes me.

i just read an article about a baby born at prematurely at 26 weeks and the doctor who tried to save him.
the question was asked, should this baby be saved?
the child was born at 26 weeks, (14 weeks early) with one kidney missing, a partial esophagus, no anus, tracheal hole, malformed, exposed spinal cord, multiple abnormalities of the heart.
Yes many do.
My mother was a victim of one. The doctor "questioned" my mother's age and questioned whether she was valuable enough to adminster blood to save my mother's life. They seemed to think that the blood transfusion would be a waste of material on account of my mother's age. (She was 67)
She died from a cardiac arrest.
A friend who researched this problem with doctors and found that they are 500 times more dangerous than a handgun.
Too many idiot doctors are out there misdynosing(s?) patients or adminstering wrong medications.
My friend's father-in-law died on the operating table because they administered the wrong medication on him. He had a natural low blood pressure, so before they could perform his heart operation, they needed to raise his BP first. Well, they administered the wrong medication that lowered his BP even more, causing him to have a heart attack and body functions to shut down, i.e. kidney, etc. The last shutdown was his brain. The family lost a very good man in his 50s.
I know tons more medical nightmare stories, but I'll leave this one at that.

Thanks guys,
I will be checking into the unemployment office Monday.
I don't know if talking to someone above him will help since Wal-Mart has a bad history with employees and customers.
I've looked at this website today and I see all this...
So, I'm having doubts if any from Wal-Mart would help me. Unless someone knows better if someone please let me know.
I'm very very worried about my landlord when he finds out I don't have a job or the bank on my mortgage too.
I hope I find a new job FAST! Otherwise, well, you know what could happen. Something I rather not think about.

Jesika - Ps. Why don't you check back with the company that was calling wanting references?? They at least sound interested. You could maybe let them know what happened and that you are in need of a job now if they have a postion open for you.
I just did, checked my email after I calmed down from crying and got this from them...

He called me into his office via one of the Customer Service Manager (CSM) who asked me to follow her. He wrote down some questions asking me if I was happy at Wal-Mart, asked me why I am looking for another job. I told him that since the store has cut everyone's hours except for the salaried people down to 20+ hours a week, it's hurting me financially and I cannot live on this. I told him I needed at least 40 hours a week, plus I needed better pay since I was making $7.25 an hour. I also said I would be more happier if I had more hours.
So he handed me a green sheet of paper that had the words, "Exit Counseling" and the written explaination was "unsatisfactory performance". I knew that wasn't true since he's pissed off that I am not showing any loyalty to Wal-Mart which is what my impression was from him was all about. I told him I am not signing it since the reason was not true. So, he fired me instead. I asked why am I being fired? He said, "for insubordination". I asked what did I just insubordinate about? He wouldn't answer that question. So I guess he means that I had insubordinated him for refusing to sign the paper.
So, now I am out of a job and I'm in a panic and still need a better job. I've had 3 interviews already and none called back. I'm very very sick in my stomach from all this and feeling downright depressed.
This sucks.
I hope I find a new job REAL SOON or I'm dead.

following the deaths by shooting of 2 teenage girls last week, the uk government is speeding through even tighter gun controls than ever before.. already, high court judges have been told to impose a minimum 5 year jail sentence to anyone found in possesssion of a hand-gun in a public place.
also, consideration is being given to outlawing replica firearms as well as air powered weapons.
much is being made of the violent lyrics sometimes contained in rap - music which appears to often endorse gun culture.. see:http://news.bbc.co.uk/ for full story.. englishman..
"Shot up" by ... 1.5% ? Given stats in other countries, that seems quite a modest rise. Of course the difficulty is that you never know what would have happened without the changes - it could have been better ... or much worse. There is also the 'after effect' of legislation where people sell things that are no longer allowed, thus causing a blib in the number of guns in circulation (perhaps a possibility in the UK after the botched Dunblaine legislation?)
Just imagine what happens when and if the US were to suddenly have a new law that disarms the law abiding citizens of this country where it is illegal to own any type of weapon as a means of self defense. What percentage of crime do you think will go up as a result of the new law?
Quoting extreme examples like Hitler and Stalin is a poor argument IMHO.
It's a fine example for what happens when the citizens of Germany allows their Government to disarm the people of personal firearms or any kind of weapon that is used as a means of self defense during the period of 1938 to 1945. Then suddently the German police got replaced by German Soliders and the Gestapo.
How many innocent people have died because they had nothing to defend themselves because some asshat didn't like them for whatever reason it may be, may it be a Jew, homosexual, JW, Gypsy, black, mentally challanged, physically challanged, etc?
What makes you think it could not happen here in the US? It's not happening now, but what about 50 years from now? 100 years from now?
It took one crafty man in Germany to change the entire government to his liking. One day, it could happen to the US the same. We may have a crafty person in politics that could change the entire government from what we know now to something that could be a major nightmare to every citizen in the US. Which is why the US consitution is in place to prevent what your King had done to our country over 200 years ago.
We want to make sure it never happens again. But the liberals are forgetting what our country stands for and what we are trying to prevent from ever happening again. Like the old saying goes, "If man forgets the past, man is forever destined to repeat it". We may wind up losing our freedom one day if we allowed some crafty man to rule over our country just as Germany once did. I hope to God it doesn't, but we can never know nor can we forsee the future.
I think the real problem is not 'having gun control' but how do you get there after allowing everyone to have guns? I don't think the USA could ever change even if it wanted to and needed to.
We won't as long as there's folks like us making a stand for our rights to bear arms. The only way for the anti-firearm nut to change that is to kill us all. Good luck if they can pull it off. We will not back down for our rights for self defense of family and property.
Making it illegal to carry guns is a change. here's why:
Before: Guy stopped in the street carrying a gun. Not caught 'committing a crime' as such so goes free. Hard to catch actually pulling the trigger.
After: Guy stopped in the street carrying a gun. 5 Years. Ah ... much better.
That's what makes it all so scary. It will put good people in prisons just as much as the bad people. I'm talking about good people who care about their families, themselves, other good people, property, etc.
The problem the UK faces is that replica guns are so easy to purchase and convert into *real* guns but legislating against a replica is difficult - where do you draw the line ... PS2 games, cap-guns, water pistols etc ...
Ha ha, yeah, can you convert a PS2 game console to go out and actually kill real people??? Gimme a break!

Simon - I think the best mix is: police can carry guns, other people can't.
Funny Hitler and Stalon said the same thing.
Guns cause violence, which is why there are so many mass killings at gun shows.
Yeah, guns at the hands of citizens causes them to be violent, but Hitler's army wasn't violent. Great logic.

In Australia where all forms of weapons have been banned in the hands of everyone except criminals who ignore the laws. With the exception of sporting use. You can't own a weapon in the home and sporting weapons must be kept locked at the sporting facility at all times when not in use.
Since the law was passed several years ago, crime shot up in all time high....here's the stats from 1997 to 1998
VIOLENT CRIME | 1997 | 1998 | TREND |
Murder | 321 | 284 | -11.5% |
Attempted Murder | 318 | 382 | +20.1% |
Manslaughter | 39 | 49 | +25.6% |
Assault | 124,500 | 132,967 | +6.8% |
Sexual Assault | 14,353 | 14,568 | +1.5% |
Kidnaping/abduction | 562 | 662 | +17.8% |
Armed Robbery | 9,054 | 10,850 | +19.8% |
Unarmed Robbery | 12,251 | 12,928 | +5.5% |
TOTAL | 161,398 | 172,690 | +7.0% |
*from the Australia Bureau of Statistics
As you can see, there's a 7.0% increase in crime in one year's time.
The number of women being raped shot up by 1.5% because criminals now love it that it's against the law to have weapons in their homes.
Look at Unarmed Robbery, clerks behind the counter can't have a weapon with them, so they just come in, demand money knowing the clerk doesn't have squat to defend themselves, even a fist is considered a weapon the land of the Aussies, you beat up a thug, you go to jail.
Banning weapons from the hands of law abiding citizens is not a solution, it makes the crime problem worse.
So instead we need tougher behavioral laws on criminals.
