What is your Favorite Scene from a Movie?
by Sweetp0985 ini thought about this topic last night for the board when watching one of my favorite movies.. 1. the man from snowy river- the part when they are going after the expensive colt and they get to the edge of the cliff and all the other riders stop and "jim" keeps going and leaps down the cliff after the wild horses.
i absolutely love that part of the movie...everytime its on i have to watch it, if not just to see this part only.. 2. love and basketball- when she tells him she will play for his heart...awwww first time i started crying.
and then the music they had playing in the background made it even worse.

upcoming JC - info needed
by mineralogist inafter some months they finally "invited" us on a jc for - even if they didn't say - apostasy.
i once read somewhere of an official letter (boe or something) that the elders should let people fade if they want and don't cause any trouble.
as this is what we carefully tried i'd wish if someone could verify this policy and hopefully could dircet to the writing.. i think of participating the jc (they want to call with 4(!

Had I not showed up they would not and could not have disfellowshipped me.
Why? Because I had not done anything! There was no evidence, testimony or fact against me.
Then of course there should not have been a JC at all - they must have skirted the "investigation and gathering witnesses" part

You are EX-JWs because you want to live an immoral life!
by Sirona inmany jehovah's witnesses believe what they've been told about ex-witnesses.
they say that exjws simply want to live an immoral life.
they say that exjws cannot live up to "jehovah's standards".

What would you do?
by FMZ inwell, i got done with my taichi class.
after driving around for a little while, seeing the sights etc.. i decided to head to work early, to get changed then head to the bar for a beer or two before my shift starts.. i filled up on gas, then as i was driving away, i noticed a poor gal (35ish) walking down the sidewalk slowly.. thumbing a lift.
obviously she had been drinking, though not to the point of totally stumbling all over.. i felt so sorry for the woman, i just had to pull over and give her a lift.

It is what I would have done up until the mid to late '80's
Now I would not. Too much risk.
I don't feel good about it, but for me wife, family, reputation is worth far more than my feelings of guilt.
( The world I knew and loved ended in 1914 - ha ha - that's a load of FeMZ ! )

Family Vacation ideas needed
by confusedjw inhey folks we are planning a family vacation for feb and wondered if you would share your experiences.
our best vacation was in st. john usvi a few years ago, but can't quite swing that this winter.
warm weather and good snorkeling are the goals, although the kids are interested in a cruise.

I didn't care for Cancun. Too commercial for my liking.
Ocho Rios Jamaica was great too !!
Tres:
Beaches Resorts (all inclusive) in Jamaica are wonderful. They keep the kids busy all day with activities so the parents can lay on the beach. And you don't have to worry about tipping like the cruise lines, and also the drinks are included at all inclusives, but not on cruises, where a beer can cost $10.00!
Nice info folks. We will be checking into Jamaica and Belize -- More suggestions and testimonials? -

CG - Next time you call the sheriff could you ask what the crime rate is down in the mid-americas?
They do sound good as when I was a diver they were popular spots.
