  HOW MANY JW KIDS LIKE SATURDAYS

  think about it.. we were the only kids that hated weekends, all the other kids got to stay at home and watch cartoons, we had to pound the pavement and get up early sunday for the boring meetings.. any thoughts.

  To think that we put our own children through the same thing.........

  I was brought up as a JW, and having to get up when it was cold.......aaarrrggghhh, but we did it because we did not want to lose favour with brother so and so or whoever it was that my mam wanted us to impress - i remember one brother who use to walk along looking really stupid, as he use to hide his briefcase under his coat, and looked an even bigger prat for doing so .... mind you that did give us some light relief.....oh the relief that we no longer have to do that...... and my children are alot happier than ever because we do not have to worry anymore about getting up early, and the cartoon channel can stay on all morning if so desired......YIPPEEE ........I have to admit our children are alot happier being non JWs that before..... so we must be doing something right.....

  My husband doesn't understand this...

  my husband does not understand what my attraction is to this board.

  i come and go on the boards, i'm not a regular by any means, but i find that the boards are a catharsis for me.

  my hubby was never in the borg, and he doesn't understand how talking about it, and comparing experiences, and poking fun at the craziness of it all, can interest me.

  Funny that this post is here, because our kids keep laughing when either Chris or I are on this site....oh why do you want to keep up with people who were JWs? Trying to explain to them that these things are very theraputic as to the healing process of once being a JW, is a little beyond them, as fortunately, our two younger children were born as JWs (yuk what a terrible expression), both have been young enough but on the other hand old enough to see the hurt and the hypocrisy that has affected our daily lives by being JWs...and we Chris and I both think of the restraints that we especially put on our two older children, it is an awful burden to bear some days - despite both of our older sons have done really well for themselves - that is why this site is so necessary for healing - because it is like women can speak to each other about all sorts of things, where men are more closed - well being ex JWs are little like women, we all can speak openly about the traumas that have been our lives whilst in the 'organisation'.

  We can learn that we are not alone with the problems that we faced by being shunned, as I have experienced this evening as I had to take our eldest son to A&E, and sat waiting was a 'sister' she looked straight through me, now she was someone who whenever she saw me, greeted with a hug, but tonight she ignored me, but I learnt later from my son that she smiled and waved at him as we walked by, so that is why we need this site and to know that others are being treated the same way throughout the whole world.

  So thanks to the clever clogs Simon who created this site for people just like us!!!!

  Lots of regards to you and keep posting we all need each other to keep going, and to keep smiling...BIG GRIN

  Just to add a little more info.

  Every one is welcome into our home,No matter the race,my sons have all different races & cultures as friends

  we have WHITE, BLACK ,YELLOW, IRISH ,SCOTTISH , WELSH, SCOUSERS * COCKNEYS NORTHERNERS AND SOUTHERNERS, ALLSO MUSLIM AND PAKISTANI ,INDIAN ,CHINESE VIETNAMESE Last but not least bloody crappy mcdonalds * MC DONALDS ,made in U.S.A

  This happens when you live in a multi cultural society,as in London England,i feel sorry for those of you whom have lost out on furthering your backward education,in the fact that you want to try something else but your conditioning wont let you ,but we all can make choices,guess what in england i have met & know many many white people that have rotten teeth ,they smell ,stink and dont wash themselves,there homes are so filthy you could slide on the shiny filthy dirt covering everything from ,the carpets to the furniture ,especialy coated with animal hair from the cat which is presented to you when offering you a good old cup of tea, In america the cross breeding with the hillbillys marrying there sisters mothers cousins in fact even the pigs i have heard about is shamefull, developing all sorts of disabilities into there family members which brings its own problems,NO I WOULDNOT MARRY A YANK even if i could

  Would i marry a hillbilly or red neck if i was able to NO There,one and the same i beleive but please correct me,the strengths of there genes added to someone else whom was supperior in thought and proffesionalismn would be lowering yourself & standards,i have been in some poor black peoples houses but being poor they are clean ,same difference,persona;ly now that i have got your backs up.

  now that i have slagged you americans of,i wouldnot marry an american ,as i am English ,and i feel that we English are far superior to you yanks.

  there i was sitting down thinking about nothing then a lump appeared in my trousers,ow no i mouthed no,.

  just then i heard in the distance a brother say and now the song number will be ???????

  i was in agony, no no i pleaded with myself nice thoughts nice thoughts,i squeezed him but he wouldnot go down, i pinched my hands and still no luck,everyone else was watching me ,as i was the only one sitting with my hands claspedacross my lap,.

  Well all I know is that it went unnoticed by me, but then again I was sat beside him, I just use to think that he could not be bothered to stand - now I know different!!!!!!!

  At least us women can hide, but typical man, just have to show off no matter where you may be!!! LOL

  did being a jw stifle your ambition?

  did not needing to plan for the future affect your career choices and your consequent wealth?.

  i'm not simply talking about following the advice to not take up an education which has been discused many times, but i'm going further to say that those brought up in "the truth" had their whole philosophy moulded and shaped in a way which never searched for more or wanted more; a non-materialistic outlook.. now some may still say materialism is evil, or that being brought up this way leads to a more content life.. the cynics, like myself, will say that keeping people 'happy but poor' is the genius of the rich.. i've had some success after leaving the org, after taking up education and so on, but it has taken time.

  No as i joined later in life but still i was allways determined that my children would get a good education and a trade between there hands,in england most brothers end up as window cleaners or cleaners no ambition,as this is knocked out of them very subtly ,most of the kids are fed information and encouraged to aim for bethel & only special brothers end up there,so sad on the rest of the youngsters ,as they feel that there not good enough or cant make the grade ,i could cry for most of them.

  but there parents are responsible for the familys beliefs WHAT A WAST of so many lives.

  Well said , rebel i guess you have allready decided what road you are traveling on , may yours be the road to wisdom and life

  ,unfortunatly there are many heading along the broad and spaciouse road leading to destruction,yes as you say there are many many good loving honest hearted people all over the world,whom act better than supposedly christians,we can travel through time and & the past to see the anarchy & death supposedly christians have meterd out to there fellow man, all in gods name as per the crusades ,but today as in comparison with those evil doers of old ,we see by there actions whom real lovers of god are have the modern day christians changed much , i dont think so refering to god,i choose to call him or her the creator, this way i cant go wrong in getting the name right,as you say it doesnot matter generaly what name you use ,just direct your prayers to the true god,

  some times you can see a written statement & read it over and over even every day of your life and get it wrong,once your mind has been cleared of all the smog & smoke screens you get a clearer picture as to what is true,i havenot tried to twist the scripture mentioned but read it with an open mind,

  What an interesting question - my husband and I are of different races - I am from Venus and he is from Mars.

  Men and women are so different in so many ways, we may aswell be from different planets - no doubt many of you would agree??????

  As for being married - well life is usually boring without colour, so a little bit of this and a little bit of that mixes rather nicely thank you.

  Nightwarrior and I are very colourful, and so are our children, and what a wonderful bunch we are - really good looking!!!!!

  People can make choices in life and be stuck with them, but Jehovah is not partial, so neither am I....
