And another thing, Jesus fed 5000 with 2 fishes and bread, You would think the JW's with all their money they've squeezed and bilked out of the elderly they could afford one measly soup kitchen

To " a friend in need" So if you take that literally then jesus said to only help the brothers? what about the sisters? JW's take everything out of context and twist it around to suit their religious dogma. Jesus said to" love one another" The Bible stresses love and charity and helping your neighbors, At least the Salvation Army helps those in destitute situations, The WT society is only in it for itself and to peddle their Bible contradicting magazines. Jim Jones caused the death of thousands people back in the 70's, however the watchtower society is blood guilty for ensnaring people into their no blood doctrine, many of them innocent children.

Does the Watchtower Society stunt personal development and growth
by truthseeker inwith so many "responsibilities" given to the witnesses by the "faithful and discreet slave", there is little time for them to do anything these days except sleep - and that is when they're not out preaching at unearthly hours in the morning.. .
the enormous pressure to perform, and to be under the watch of the elders to make sure you perform, is a draining experience.. .
a book i have on sociology says this regarding jehovah's witnesses, when discussing sects, that "they require intensive commitments and demonstrations of belief by members.

The watchtower society is a hypocritical, thieving organization that would tell everyone not to pursue any worldly careers or retirement benefits, however when someone dies thay will lick their lips when they reap the benefits of inheriting someone's 401k. I hope the federal govt someday wises up and cuts off all tax exemptions to the watchtower and makes them pay their fair share of taxes. what hypocrites to tell you that you cant work hard to better yourself, but sit on their lazy butts in new york with their hands stuck out for donations.

Hi Kevin, in answer to your question, I stopped going to any meetings in 1994, I was sure that armageddon was coming and it was pointless for me to try to live a witness life,i just figured i would be destroyed.3 years later after coming online I found out that in 1995 that the society changed its view on the 1914 generation and had even stricken the reference to it in the declaration page of the watchtower. From then on I knew it was a lie. their prophecy had failed to pass and now they were trying to revise it. But it was too late!!! I had many doubts about it when growing up, but when it finally occurred to me that they had revised their cornerstone doctrine because of failed prophecy, I knew that I could never look back. I was told and made to believe by my dad and the articles in the mags that armageddon would happen in the 20th century. The bible defines a generation as 70 maybe 80 years, however the 1914 generation is now 90 and nearly gone.

most worldly kids get 2 days of presents a year, birthdays and christmas.
some even get something on easter, valentine's day, and st. patrick's day!

I always wanted to puke when i heard that "we get presents all year" BS. My father had a decent paying factory job and I can count on my hand the times he ever bought us a toy. what a crock the society puts out

I finally did it !!
by Junction-Guy infor most of my adult life i have always been reluctant to mention that i was raised a jw, just out of pure embarassment, it has always been a source of shame for me.
last night i was finally able to tell people that i work with that my family are jw's.
the whole thing that started the conversation was another officer talking about an inmate in the hospital having a blood transfusion, that was my way in to the conversation.

To Undaunted Danny
by Junction-Guy ini enjoyed reading your webpage and all.
i know that many people many find you to be a little drastic and on the fringes, however, i, along with probably many others on this board have just as much anger and bitterness built up.
i must say it does take alot of "guts" to do what you do.

Actually there was no pun intended, I guess I should have said "balls" instead of "guts"

For most of my adult life I have always been reluctant to mention that I was raised a JW, just out of pure embarassment, It has always been a source of shame for me. Last night I was finally able to tell people that I work with that my family are JW's. The whole thing that started the conversation was another officer talking about an inmate in the hospital having a blood transfusion, that was my way in to the conversation. Me and several other officers sat around all night discussing the many different cults here in the US. We discussed everything from mormonism to freemasonry. One Officer asked me what I thought was so bad about the JW religion, I told him "there is so much I dont know where to begin" I started off by mentioning that the 1914 doctrine was the cornerstone of their religion and how this doctrine affected those growing up in the religion and persuaded many to forego a college education and a career. I explained the many different things that were forbidden to us such as holidays, birthdays, boy scouts and the list went on and on. It was a very interesting night for all of us, and I even got the email address of one of my fellow officers and promised him I would send him more info about the JW's. When I left this morning I just felt so good and that I accomplished so much by exposing the the JW's and other cults to them. I believe that this is my goal for the remainder of my life- to expose everyone I may come in contact with to the flawed doctrines of the WT society. I may even seek out college campuses and Churches to go and speak to groups
