There is plenty enough of legitimate, well-documented reasons to criticize the WTS - we don't need the addled ramblings of attention seekers and conspiracy nuts added to the mix.
Amen

Could ''boredom'' at the Kingdom Hall be one reason why some members leave?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inyou'll find boredom where there is the absence of a good idea earl nightingale quotes (us motivational writer and author, 1921-1989).
let's forget that most members leave due to the wrong beliefs, doctrines and practices of the wts!.
i was bored out of my mind from the repetitive: talks, prayers, ministry school demonstrations, field service talks(peddle magazines),assemblies, special talks and watchtower magazine study articles.

I absolutely agree Brotherdan.
Their problem is they know their ground is so shaky absolutely no digging is allowed, or the whole thing will collapse.
They know that, we know that. but our poor deluded Witness friends and relatives don't

1. Do a question and answer session where the audience gets to ask the question that is on their mind. It can be anything from "Why do we hold to 607 as the date of Jerusalems destruction instead of 586/7, to why does Revelation talk about the Great Crowd being located in heaven to why does the society ban beards?
HA HA HA like they would ever do that.
It would stop the boredom, sure, but the ensuing ruckus would have more leave than even we could hope for.

Sad Family News.....
by AK - Jeff inon friday morning, sometime before noon, my former son-in-law [for lack of better term, for he and my daughter were never married], father and custodial parent of my middle granddaughter, was found dead of an overdose of pain-medication.
perhaps oxycontin, though i am unsure of the specific drug at the moment.. he was enduring pain from an accident with his moped [yes, he was lifetime license removed for drinking] that occurred a year or so back.
his shoulder was injured and he had a surgery scheduled soon.

Poor little kid. But if your family can cope, she may be better off with her siblings and the stable life you can give her.
That all kids had such loving grandparents.

Saw my JW father the other day
by Paralipomenon ini'm still a bit torn on the issue of associating with my parents.
they have made absolutely no effort to keep in touch and usually any contact results in a generic witness email reply.. i have been at the point that i really don't need or care for their influence in my life for a while but i keep flipping back and forth between cutting off all contact and being the bigger person and at least give them updates.. so, in light of their recent aniversary, i went to the store and tried to pick them out a card.
i never really realized how difficult that is if you're looking for a card to actually mean what you say.. unfortunately i didn't find a card that said "sorry you two are trapped in a loveless marriage and i could really care less about your opinions" so i settled for the least bit sappy i could find.. i put the kid's school pictures in and while out running errands dropped it off.

There is no "Armageddon," dear Yes (peace to you!). There is a war that is fought at the "place" called "Har-Mageddon." That war results when people... who have NOT learned love... come against the Holy City, New Jerusalem... which is Christ and His Body. These... Gog and Magog... will NEVER learn peace. That the Most Holy One of Israel ultimatelyl destroys these is due to the fact that the right... and privilege... of vengeance... is His alone. Not other spirits', not angels', not man's... not even Christ's.
While He is merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, He does reserve the RIGHT to avenge the blood of any He chooses... including and most particularly, the holy ones. He doesn't always act on that right... and He certainly doesn't act rashly, harshly, or quickly. But He can and does act... when it is His will to do so. It is His right.
Dear Shelby, I agree with you. I was trying to make the point ( as nugget first said) that the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses make no sense, and are not in accord with Bible teaching.

Are we not taught as JWs that Jehovah has the potential to forgive everyone. The fact that we are also taught he will destroy many at Armageddon must indicate that he does not choose to forgive all people.
Wow never thought of that. That's a keeper. Thank you.

Yours is a pure Christian attitude.
However as others have said, you must not beat yourself over it.
Don't fret, you sincerely believed you were doing what God required.

Dear Shelby,
It is not anything that has passed between Farkel and myself. It is the way he treats others.
The quotes were taken from his previous posts to others.
What I really don't understand is why he or anyone else thinks that sort of demeaning language is acceptable.
You would never talk to others that way.
Farkel is not God.
He makes mistakes and when they hurt others he needs it brought to his attention. Perhaps as his good friend, you could do that.
Your concern is abviously for him, as it should be. I am concerned about the new ones.,
It was his insulting remarks to Dontplaceliterature that brought on this whole sherbang. It wasn't in this thread but Dontplaceliterature was hurting and it came out. I then supported DPL. As I have said it was the final straw for me.
Thank you for your caring attitude,
I am sure Doug is delighted to have you for his friend.
and Peace to You.
