  "they", as in governing body dweeb Geof Jackson... Yes, in that video he explains why he proudly displays in his executive office an old book published by WT. He omits explaining that the book displays is a revised edition, not a first print volume, which contains some outrageous (anti-Jewish) commentary and other WT rhetoric.

  i was asking the above question because a pomo friend of my family told me about an incident involving her and a couple of dubs who were physically abusive in the past.. a single sister who was running around from one cong to another cong looking for a husband.

  she was visiting my friend's cong for less than a year.

  there was a commuter bethellite bro who was very friendly towards my friend (which i'll call her "q") and her fam members.

  UK Contaminated Blood Scandal

  up to 30,000 people contracted hiv and hepatitis c in the 1970s and 80s after being given blood treatments or transfusions on the nhs.. thousands have since died.. it just goes to show there is no such thing as a sure thing.. the wts may be wrong about their blood doctrine, and their bible interpretation to justify it, and how they enforced the rules about it, but ultimately may be correct in claiming that "bloodless surgery" was a safer option medically.. canada also had a contaminated blood scandal, where 30,000 were infected with hepatitis c and hiv.. in other news, paying for blood from high-risk donors is a bad idea.

  Here is a WT official explanation of its "revision" to the NWT of 2013. This basic explanation cites only a few relatively benign "adjustments". Deeper research is required to identify the more biased additions/omissions which conveniently favor JW dogma.

  Intro:

  "OVER the years, the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures has been revised a number of times, but the 2013 revision was by far the most extensive. For example, there are now about 10 percent fewer English words in the translation. Some key Biblical terms were revised. Certain chapters were changed to poetic format, and clarifying footnotes were added to the regular edition. It would be impossible in this article to discuss all the changes, but let us consider a few of the main adjustments."

  i've been out for over 20 years and really can't keep up with the doctrinal and physical changes.

  there have been so many construction projects, property sell-offs, and whatnot.

  can someone clarify what exactly is in each city/town.

  Your list is a fair description.

  "Warwick" is a misnomer because the physical address of cult HQ is 40 Kings Drive Tuxedo Park, NY.

  Map driving directions from the town of Warwick NY to the HQ address in Tuxedo Park NY... you will see two distinct places separated by distance.

  Cult HQ is approximately 20mi/32km drive from Warwick proper.

  The proposed "Ramapo" media production site is just 2mi/3km east of HQ.

  the study edition of september has 2 question from readers.. one about what happens arround 1000 years after armageddon.. they compare 2 class of people: permanent resident and temporary visitors.

  So, the future utopia system on earth, as taught by WT, will be run much like the wicked worldly systems of today.

  Imagine being resurrected to life into a JW paradise earth world, love-bombed and all-you-can-eat-fruit-buffeted every day, then eventually sat down before a committee of JW princes to be informed that you are not progressing good enough, therefore the JW princes will be recommending that your resurrection be terminated, and this judicial decision must be publicly announced to all other paradise dwellers.

  Oh, and until the terminatation of your resurrection is finalized by the GB in heaven, your fruit-buffet privileges are restricted because you are now shunned.

  i’ll go first.. in a previous congregation we had a pioneer couple that have since gone on to be gilead graduates and are now either in circuit work or translation.

  they checked all the boxes off the societies list so they were exemplary.

  A JW cannot be excommunicated for the sole act of taking another believer to court. At the very most, such a JW might lose their status of being viewed as "exemplary" which could lead to a loss of some special privilege titles, but would not result in excommunication. Though, the negative stigma of having 'taken a fellow JW believer to court' can linger for a very long time, as in for a lifetime.

  Regardless of the outcome from any court litigation, congregation elders are not obligated to recognise or critique decisions arising out of worldly courts, particularly those concerning private civil court disputes. Governing Body member David Splane ranted about this area of JW culture in his 2021 convention talk. JW officials want to render their own verdicts, which in some cases is to "do nothing"...

  A JW could win their case against a fellow JW in worldly court, but lose the same case if it were later brought before the local JW elders. Most bodies of elders will not dabble into private business disputes beyond providing some generic biblical counsel. If elders do become more deeply involved, as the OP mentions, there are likely other factors at work, such as favourtism, selfish ambition, or simply some plain jackass elders.

  To alleviate congregational angst resulting from such drama, JW literature and even their secret book for local elder's strongly emphasize formal written agreements for business matters between believers.

  But of what real benefit is a formal written agreement between believers if JW elders will not help enforce it, and JW culture then discourages pursuing litigation as a means to remedy breach of contractual agreements...

  In the end, the pressure from JW elders is to "let yourself be wronged" in order to avoid "bringing reproach upon the congregation's reputation" by believers disputing mere material things in a worldly public court of law.

  Odd how the WT legal department can threaten litigation and drag the name of Jehovah into courts whenever it might benefit WT, as with that Lego-gate scandal, but the average JW is cautioned against seeking justice from wordly courts in situations that might besmirch the good reputation of "Jehovah's name"

  JW business is tricky business.

  This was from about 20 years ago. It would generate two/three word themes as fast as you could click the generate button.

  It was humorous and most of the themes were very much like the stereotypical convention themes JWs have hyped up over the years as "the best one yet", but that old webpage was simply pairing two or three somewhat randomized words from the JW vocabulary... which only the cult could stretch out into a multi-day indoctrination convention program, for example:

  United Givers

  Everlasting Urgency

  Theocratic Truth

  Privilege Seekers

  Refined Light

  Submissive Sovereignty

  Prophetic Fear

  Godly Class

  Joyful Knockers

  i'm wondering if this is another step in wt branching out into attempting to profit through media production.

  last year they already registered their hollywood style company "jw studios" as an llc, unlike their other corporations which are non-profit.. ( more information on that here: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5740817149853696/jw-studios-llc-commercial-purposes ).

  now, i see this video of a wt spokesman.
