5 years after leaving the JWs I started attending the Catholic Church. Best thing I ever could have done, in reconnecting my faith in God. As far as dealing with PIMI relatives, I’ve found the best approach is the less said the better things will turn out.

Covering up bathroom mirrors at the assemblies!!!
by nojudgement inthis was one of the craziest things i remember about the summer conventions.
i would go into the sister's bathrooms and the mirrors would all be taped up with brown paper so that we couldn't look at our reflections.
were were amish or something?

This is the, very first time I have ever heard of this, both as my time as a PIMI and as an apostate with devil horns. I’ve been contributing to apostate channels now for 11 years. I remember, as a PIMI, seeing long cues into female bathrooms, and I can also remember male toilets been assigned as female ones, and attendants placed outside to enforce it. But I can never recall in my lifetime of mirrors been taped up with brown paper.
Although I can appreciate the need, of doing this, to ease congestion. This could have been easily resolved, by getting in rental toilets for those that really needed to go. This is just a case of Wt been their narcissistic, cheap arses.

Funny thing with me. The Reverlation book, with the insert, and overlapping gen had no effect on me. It wasn’t until I got onto apostate web sites that I realised its significance. Looking back it blows my mind as to how sheepish and dozey I was. Almost embarrassing.

i just read that serena said both of them were jws.
but this wouldn't be the first time means 1) supports her beliefs and does them 2) supports her beliefs and doesn't interfered with but no where does it say he is a baptized witness.

Firstly, they never should have allowed her to get baptised so quickly. They should have at least waited a year or two, to test the waters. This has now created a P.R nightmare for them.
Isn’t it ironic that the very thing that is owned by Brother Williams, is the very thing that condemns them. Both sister Williams and the GB have to be looking and thinking WTF do I do next. I’m guessing she probably doesn’t even care what they think. Absolutely hilarious.

Skin: well if there was something on the news my relative didn’t see it. Btw I’m not implying that there wasn’t. As my relative put it, he heard about lake Ellis, Salvation Army, Catholic Church but never heard the JW word. I dear say if he looked harder perhaps he would have uncovered something.

Ok I just want to officially set the record straight about the report of CSA in New Zealand. I have a PIMO relative who lives in NZ. As far as public awareness, with regard to the JWs, it was basically a big nothing burger. According to my relative it featured twice on the 7pm news, over 2 nights, and the JWs weren’t even mentioned. This is not to say that an article didn’t appear in the National news paper, but my PIMO relative said that he couldn’t find an article that linked the goings on in the JWs to CSA. In my relatives opinion the PIMIs could be forgiven for not even realising the JWs were part of the investigation. Locally she has also commented there is silence in the congregation about this

A PIMO relative, who lives in New Zealand, mentioned to me that both in the papers ,and on the tv news stations, the Jehovah’s Witnesses didn’t even get mentioned. The local JWs, in his opinion, aren’t even aware that the JWs were even part of the investigation net alone the implications. WT lives another day.

I don’t know with regards to John Denver kicking JWs out. But from accounts I’ve heard about him he was a narcissistic, arse to begin with. Tbh giving Michael Jackson the flick when they did was the right move. Imagine the allegations laid against him combined with the 2 witness rule in JWland what a hornets nest they would have now.

it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.

By the comments here I’d say most would be in the over 50 bracket. That is why the conversation here, and subjects discussed, has so much more depth to it. Then say the likes of reddit. If there is something that I really want to know, this is by far, my first port of call. Love you all guys, you’re a huge source of support.

I’m no drug rehab expert, but to me his teeth look fine. I’ll wait for more evidence to surface before I start making accusations. It seems that scandal is never far from this guy. It’s a shame really, how things have ended, as his work was to a very high standard. I’ve noticed recently that he has missed, or been slow to responded to, some prime opportunities in watchtower land. He is also the only guy I know of who has been able to make a living on the back of watchtower, and I think in his prime, quite a successful one.
