Yeah that is a good question. But from someone who has only just recently faded, for most of the dubbies it wouldnt even cross there minds to ask where it is.

How long before they back track on the internet
by joe134cd ini was just thinking today.
how long will it be before the watchtower back tracks on its internet bashing, and finally allows it's publishers to set up internet sites.
how long before the wt joins up with the likes of face book /twitter.

I was just thinking today. How long will it be before the watchtower back tracks on its internet bashing, and finally allows it's publishers to set up internet sites. How long before the WT joins up with the likes of face book /twitter. How long before they have a space on the publisher report card for time spent in service internet witnessing. there is just much bad publicity on the net about them eventually they will be forced to. Thoughts please.

Yet another problem with GB = FDS
by leaving_quietly ini was pondering this teaching yesterday.
the claim is that jesus and jehovah came and inspected all the religions and in 1919, chose rutherford as the fds.
today, the claim is that the governing body is the fds.

So what you are saying is "dose jehovah do audit checks on them." Hehe but an interesting thought.

The eldaaaars again!!
by ILoveTTATT inafter two months of not coming to my house, today about two hours ago, one of the elders that came two months ago came to my house.
he was in serve-us with other brothers from the spanish cong and came into my house with a friend of mine (not another elder).
he said he wanted to talk to me, and he said it in front of my mom and my dad (both were there).. what was interesting is that it seems like it will be a one-on-one for half-hour.

I sort of don't know why, but my fade has been the exact opposite. In the whole time I've had no visit from elders, and only 2 people could be bothered to come around and see me. To be honest I don't know if I'm insulted or happy.

WT ain't going out of business.
by joe134cd ini've heard this said in other posts, so now i'm going to combine it in one post.. the $28 million awarded to conti is only drop in the bucket for what they are worth.. there would have to be 100 s of successful sex abuse law suites before they would feel it.
quite frankly i don't reckon there would be enough with the right circumstances to have a successful case against wt.
having a dozen or so cases isn't going to break the bank.

Losing it= as for the dubbies in this country. I would say almost none of them have heard about it. Or if they have no one is talking. As for myself I never knew that there was a problem with child sex abuse and to the extent it was until I stumbled on this site. I just can't believe how in the dark I was. Btw I was in for just under 40 years.

I really can't believe this. So far this hasn't come to this country yet. Just a total scam.

The searcher= it's a story of old money invested wisely will see them well into the future. If they can generate income off the real estate sales by wise investments, this will see them through the hard times. i strongly suspect the money is been used for anything but the preaching work, hence no mention of what it's been used for. The containment of this information e.g mags on demonic media & speculation.
i honestly believe the sex abuse cases there might be a couple dozen at the most. This won't topple them, and it certainly won't be like the Catholic Church. I believe the sex abuse is different to that of the catholic church in that the priests were paid employees of an organisation, where as with the witnesses it was a matter of terrible mismanagement / lousy advise / and confidentiality with congregation members. Although it is quite likely that sex abuse is rampent with in the organization trying to make that organization accountable for it is quite another matter. Well thats my view of it.

If I was the GB the money loss would be insignificant to the damage done to their credibility and reputation.
Sure they are cutting back and down sizing but if they play their cards right the billions that they have got stored up will last them well into the future. Put it this way they will out live me. They are far from financial ruin. I'm guessing soon 1st world countries will go totally electronic, and printed page for the 3rd world.

2014 DC: Fewer, but larger venues in the U.S.
by doinmypart inin the u.s. there are fewer venues this year, but they will be held in larger facilities.
as long as i can remember my family travelled no more than 2 hours to attend and in the last few years the dc was local (within a few minutes travel).
this year my family is driving 6 hours to a major u.s. city.

I could never understand why they down sized the conventions in the first place. I remember back in the day when there were only 3 conventions in this country. Then it went to 5 smaller ones. I remember been told the reason they downsized was problems with apostates Coming onto the grounds. I also remember attending a convention around this time when this was the case. So It sort of made sense at the time. Looking at it from the GB/R&F perspective I can see a number of problems.
*although it going to save the Org money. I would say the true cost to the R&F will be much more e.g transport costs, extra day off work to travel etc.
*It will be much harder to control and know what is going on with a bigger group than a smaller one e.g infiltration by apostates, unruly individuals.
*the minute the moteleir knows theres a major event and accommodation is in short supply you watch the prices shoot up.
so lovingly the GB has saved them selves a few bucks but probably cost the R&F well in excess of the savings.
