I have one helluva hard time believing membership is ANYWHERE NEAR 9 million. No fuggin' way! Probably more around 3 million.

for those still in the organization what is your meeting attendance like these days?.
when i left in 2017 there were around 80 publishers and the average meeting attendance was 70..
While PIMO, I had the assignment of counting the attendance. I noted that 2/3 of the cong were 50+ in age. I also saw a photo of an elders school. All of them were grey headed. This was 11 years ago. I’d hate to think what it’s like now

Nothing beats face to face contact. Even with my aged PIMI father I literally push him out the door to physically attend the meetings. This is the best course of action both physically and mentally for him Humans are designed to interact in person.
about a month ago, some unknown poster who looked like one of those guys with a tin foil hat posted on a youtube video that north korea soldiers were landing on russia, during the night, armed to the teeth.
he was making these crazy comments that north korea had committed to help russia fight against nato and that they were getting ready to use nukes against nato countries if nato started using them first.
in less the an hour the video was taken down.
I’m probably going to get shot (no pun intended) for saying this, and I have no doubt this has been discussed before. But I fully support what Putin did, and in hindsight I probably would have done the same thing. This was never about Russia wanting to take over or dominate Ukraine. This was about missiles been built in Ukraine that left the Russian borders vulnerable to attack. The exact same thing happened in the Cold War between Cuba/ USA. I bet if it were the drug gangs in Mexico, building atomic weaponry in Tijuana, something would have been done about it pretty quickly. The Ukrainian government could have not decided to join natio, and this whole thing would have never happened. A terrorist can be very subjective, depending on what side of the line you are on.

I remember, years ago they released renditions of kingdom songs been sung by members of the GB/Bethel family. I was an orthodox PIMI at the time, and I remember openly commenting about how bad they all sounded, and that I was embarrassed listening to it. I just wished it had been the thing to have woken me up. Would have saved me decades.
not sure if anyone really remembers this case, it was huge at the time.
the very interesting point though about this was that at the time the parents were known to be very active in the jw religion.
i also believe that the father may have been an elder(i could be mistaken, though).
I remember watching a mini series about this. I don’t recall this ever been brought out in the movie. In fact this is the first time I’ve heard of it. I’d have to assume, that them been JWs was not the case.
on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

when i grew up in the cult they had a real sense of urgency and would do an hour minimum, these days it’s not even ten mins before coffee break.. same goes for everything else, it’s half hearted .
I have seen this happen with my very PIMI JW parent. Even with the advent of Zoom, and him been fully dressed, to now only been dressed to the point where the camera can see. I’m actually the one who pushes him to go to the physical meetings, because I think that physical contact is good for him. A few weeks back was his district assembly. On the Sunday of the convention, he suddenly decides he won’t go as he has previously seen it on zoom. So we went shopping in the convention city in stead. I all my days I never thought I would ever witness this. I thought this might be an awakened moment for him, but alas this wasn’t to be. Lol. Before the tick the box for FS, he was writing letters. As this could be a measure of his reliance on Jehovah AKA Watchtower. After the tick the box for FS he barely does that. It must be months since he last physically went out in FS. I sort of don’t mind this really as he’s advanced in years. At least with letter writing, and standing aimlessly at a cart, it keeps his mind ticking over, and gives him exercise delivering his letters.
