The way I see it (The org) is that it's run by Satan. He's in the lead and casts spells on innocent people that long to serve God. Just as the bible prophecies. By following the WT we're disobeying God and ignore His warnings. We also ignore His logical advice not to trust in men, simply because they're all liars. And when we refuse to do honest background research because these liars (Satan) tell us not to, we can't really say anymore "we didn't know" on the judgement day.

Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Brother Jeramy inallow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.
i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.
some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

It's a "lose / lose" situation!
by stuckinarut2 inso the org is on a big "beg for money" drive right?.
so either they are running out of money and will eventually cease to have as much influence, or, it is evidence of a lack of backing from "god", so they will eventually fade away?.
either way, it's a "lose / lose" situation for the org!.

I don't believe for a second they "need" more money, it's just a classic case of greed. "Much ($$$) wants more.
I think they're knee deep in the almighty dollar, probably already have more than they know what to do with. But humans have a hard time being in the lead without letting it get to their heads. Even the bible warns us from following men, because they're all liars.
This whole Watchtower-phenomenon stems from people not following the biblical advice, not even reading it properly. And all people have a strong urge to belong. To anything. It's just an instinct. And some people have figured out how to take advantage of that.

There's something wrong with this guy. His whole body language is weird, like he's a five year old kid wanting to jump in place because he's so exited about something (in adults eyes) trivial. I almost thought he was gonna really start jumping up and down.
i just couldn't watch for more than a few minutes. He makes me angry inside and I just want to throw my iPad out the window. :(
on the positive side, idiotic broadcasting with weirdos like this will be their downfall probably sooner than later. I think that's why God have helped them set this JW TV up, so he can expose the false prophets.

OMG once and for all, whats this idea of a three fold prophesy??
by sowhatnow inwell it happened again, i got annoyed at my mom telling me all about the co visit , and i couldn't help myself, i said' oh god mom its like the pope is visiting, all that info can be told with the regular elders you don't need 'special' people .. subjects ensue,.
she says 'your misled, your so wrong, no one else on the planet has the beliefs that we do, we are the only ones with the truth, i dont follow men, bla bla.. , 40 minuets... , misquotes all over the place, isaiah this and that, yada yada ' j"vah has to have an earthy organization to give us the proper food, bla bla.
i say ' no jesus is gods mediator, we don't need men and were told not to listen to men for they are imperfect.

Searcher, isn't that because Rutherford got out of jail that year?
But still, that doesn't prove that Jesus choose these fruit cakes to represent him on earth.

JW Personality used as an excuse....
by Anon_SA1 ini had a discussion with a current jw member of +- 30 years, we got chatting about how you can be sure your faith is right and what checks can be done.
i then suggested looking at ex members view points and literature.
her response was her "i am not someone who takes initiative to look online at stuff, i doesn't feel my personality needs me look at outside view points" in summary she was saying her personality type is not interested in looking at other views.

My fanatic-JW mom refuses to look up anything about anything I'm telling her about the falsehood of her "truth." She says everything is lies from apostates. Its like talking to a wall. And obviously it doesn't matter to her that the Bible tells us to research the prophets.
But honestly, I don't think she even would know how to do research and to look up stuff like the origins of quotes or the NGO membership of the UN. She's not very educated or have much experience in anything. I also think that it doesn't matter to her anyways. She would be lost and alone without her cult. It doesn't really matter to me, she can have her play-pretend-life. What makes me mad is when she goes on about how us worldly people will die, very soon, probably even like next week (heard that since the early '80s) since we reject Gods organization.

Am I the only one that think the guy (that drank the wine for the 1914 generation) seemed really drunk?
In the comments they said they were really nervous leading up to this so I'll bet he calmed his nerves with (a lot) of booze.

Why do I suddenly want to start reading JW literature and going to Kingdom Halls?
by yogosans14 inis good calling me back or am i just letting my emotions get the best of me?also i really want to be closer to my jw family.
btw i was never baptized and i consider myself a born again christian i go to a baptist church and wath televangelist and i have expirenced gods presence like never before but sometimes i get fearful and think "what if jws are right and i'm wrong" than i'm screwed!but if there wrong and i'm right it doesn't look to good for them.. i would prefer if nobody posted "god isn't real" type comments.
i truly believe he is real but i respect why some are atheists..

I think that reading through the Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures will open up your eyes and remove any and all doubts you're having.
The bible tells us that Jesus is our only mediator, not a small group of imperfect men with one false prophecy after another.

Danish crime series begins with apparent shunning of a young mother, returning home after two decades
by FatFreek 2005 ini began watching a well-reviewed crime series -- dicte -- in streaming netflix last night.
although it is compelling, the audio was in danish and was close-captioned into english.
i didn't complete the first episode because watching cc is too laborious for me.

I just saw the whole series on Netflix the other week. Someone in a Swedish ex-JW forum mentioned it (I'm a swede living in the US) and that it gave some negative comments about Jehovah's Witnesses. The combo crime + Scandinavian is irresistible to me so I had to watch it and I loved it. Very good. Even though I do understand a lot of Danish I was glad it had the English subtitles, some words and expressions are totally foreign to me.
And yes, the JWs didn't look too good in it. Dictes JW parents forced her to give up her baby she had when she was just a teenager. They hid her pregnancy and all for the elders just to hide the fact that their daughter was "immoral". But she could never forget her son and without telling too much she does get to meet him later in the series, as a grown young man.

Paranormal Witness
by Clambake indoes anyone watch this show?
it literally scares the hell of out of me..
does anyone here have an interest in the paranormal, demonology , ghosts or general weird stuff.
-
Virran
Never heard of that show but I'm terrified of paranormal things thanks to growing up with my JW mom who scared the crap out of us kids about the dangers of "the unknown". I still sleep with the bathroom light on when I'm all alone and I can't lay with my back towards the door, lol.
I do believe in the afterlife, I don't believe that you'll just die and everything disappears. But I still do not want contact with anyone on the other side. I believe it's mostly demons that you'll get a hold of when trying to communicate. When us humans die we go straight up to the heavens, I don't believe God let some of us "get stuck in between" forced to roam old empty buildings.
I see this show is on YouTube, I'm gonna check it out.
