Just thought I'd put a few choice cuts from this new Watchtower article here:
What is Prejudice?
http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/wp20130601/prejudice-global-problem/Researchers struggle to define prejudice. Some say it is “a negative attitude or feeling toward an individual based solely on that individual’s membership in a certain group.” Others say that this attitude is based on “insufficient information,” which leads to the “prejudgment of members of [a] group.” Whatever the case, prejudices can be formed against another person because of his race, weight, gender, language, religion, or virtually any perceived difference.
(Nice to see another quote from the "disgusting thing"!)
On March 21, 2012, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stated: “There are many valuable treaties and tools—as well as a comprehensive global framework—to prevent and eradicate racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance. Nevertheless, racism continues to cause suffering for millions of people around the world.”Have you ever been a victim of discrimination? Have you ever been denied a request, refused a service, or otherwise treated with disdain because of your skin color, ethnic background, or social status? If so, you are far from alone. Here, though, is the good news: Such indignities, though commonplace on earth, are nonexistent in heaven. “God is not partial,” said the Christian apostle Peter with the utmost conviction. Peter spoke those words in a most unusual setting—in the home of a Gentile named Cornelius. Peter, born a Jew, lived at a time when Jews viewed Gentiles as unclean and thus unacceptable for any kind of fellowship.
“For a certainty,” said Peter, “I perceive that God is not partial.” (Acts 10:34) The Greek word rendered “partial” literally means “taker of faces.” (The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures) Regarding this term, one scholar explains: “It refers to a judge who looks at a man’s face and renders a verdict, not in accord with the merits of the case, but according as he likes or dislikes the man.” God does not favor one face over another because of race, nationality, social standing, or any other external factors. (just make sure your face doesn't have a goatee on it)
Thanks Watchtower for the fine spiritual food - goes well with the 'slaughter the apostates' watchtower.

Something better than Xmas
by zound insaw the title of this recent watchtower and it reminded me of the standard response to b'days and xmas celebrations:.
"we don't limit giftgiving to a specific day, we give gifts all year round!".
did anyone growing up a jw get gifts all year round?.

B'shit. Did anyone growing up a JW get gifts all year round?
I do remember that as a family for a while we had our own 'holiday' as such, called 'present day' - which was on the date of my parents wedding anniversary. It felt a little odd, and fizzled out before long.
I also remember when I first left JWs at the age of 21 - I had virtually no contact with JW's or my family. On my first birthday out of the org I recieved a sms from my mother - it said "Happy ****day."
It actually made me angry - the concept that blotting out part of the word made it okay. Obviously my mother just wanted an excuse to contact me and was most likely hurting from the arbitory rules of of the watchtower,
Every birthday since, I check my phone all day, hoping for even a censored sms from my mother - but nine birthdays have passed now and I haven't recieved another. =(

Do Not Calls is it about control?
by hoser inelders are supposed to call on do not calls once a year to get their ass chewed on by the householder.
why does the borg make them do this?
humiliate them and make them more loyal?.

Ultimately the JW's pick and choose who is getting the good news or not. If they don't feel like knocking on your door - they won't. If they feel like 'ghost knocking' (knocking so quietly that no one could hear it) because they don't particularly feel like being out in the field that day - tough shit, you're getting destroyed at armageddon.
I haven't had a knock on my door for 9 years. I'm not on a DNC list - there ain't nothing wrong with access to my door - just lazy ass JW's who aren't as thorough as they should be.

FAQ - from the official web site "Do You Shun Former Members of Your Religion"?
by therevealer inthose who were baptized as jehovah's witnesses but no longer preach to others, perhaps even drifting away from association with fellow believers, are not shunned.
in fact, we reach out to them and try to rekindle their spiritual interest..

The whole FAQ section is full of lies. In answer to "How do Jehovahs witnesses finacne their work?"
"Any donations that are forwarded to the branch offices of Jehovah’s Witnesses are used to relieve victims of natural disasters, to support our missionaries and traveling ministers, to help construct our houses of worship in developing countries, and to print and ship Bibles and other Christian publications."
Say's nothing about paying off child abuse victims.
The answer to "Do you believe you have the one true religion?" is also sickening - nowhere in the answer do they say "YES", but the answer amounts to that. Double talk.. a JW reads it and it reads yes - a critic reads it and it reads 'yes' but with enough wiggle room that if they were pinned down they could deny saying that.
"Are you tolerent of other religions?" Answer is also a total joke.
"Do you feel you are the only people that will be saved?" "No." - then bullshit that actually means yes.

2034 is going to be a huge letdown for the dubs
by wha happened? ini've seen a few postings of a possible "next date" for dubs of 2034. based on an article they published comparing the last days to the days of noah.
preaching for 120 years.
however, i noticed a little tidbit from wiki about age:.

GB 2.0 were probably pissed at GB 1.0 for setting an end date that would fall in GB 2.0's reigning period. They've passed on the problem to GB 3.0, who will in turn pass it on to GB 4.0 and on and on it goes.
They still want a close enough carrot on a stick to keep the rank and file malluable - but want it far enough away so they will be dead by the time the org needs another date shift. They just want a quiet and comfortable run in their old age.

Superimposed witnessing
by zound inlol, just noticed something.
the images that appear in a slideshow on jw.org homepage with the heading beneath "the good news will be preached in all the inhabited earth".
anyone who's familiar with photoshop can tell that in at least most of those images (if not all) the witnesses are superimposed into the scenes.

Also the music at the start and the shitty collage thing brought back horrible memories of cheesy JW videos.
His oversized suit and the strange camera angles don't help either - I guess that's what you get when your workforce is comprised of uneducated volunteers.
