  Maybe There's a Heaven...

  i don't often open up discussions on my beliefs or experiences in life, but i feel a need, so please excuse me if you feel it untoward.

  neither is this a poxy swan-song, i'm just opening up my heart a little.. today i had cause to reflect on a conversation i had with my [now ex-]wife shortly after my epithany.

  everything was so new and unknown.

  Interesting thread you got going here, Ross.

  May I suggest that there is that which is not alive, but rather is Life itself. There is that which is not loving or loved, but rather is Love itself. This actuality is the foundational reality of what we all are, what all existence IS. Sometimes it shines through the dense mind-generated life-story, and is quickly interpreted, labeled, flavored, colored and incorporated into the story.

  The tale may be that it was some separate thing or some individual that touched us; when actually and truly this indescribably immediate, intimate, pure and vast Unity/Oneness/Love, is what we are. It's you.

  i'm in my twenties and am raised as a jw by my parents.

  i've been reading this board for over a year.

  have read several books: crisis of consience, apocalypse delayed, who wrote the bible, the bible unearthed.

  What is in the mind? Thoughts, ideas, interpritations, facsimiles and representations. None of it real; as a thought of a tree -- is not a tree.

  The basis of your problem is simple: you seek truth in beliefs, when beliefs are inherently lies.

  Thoughts and beliefs have an important and practical use in day to day existence. However, when it comes to discovery of ultimate Truth, nothing the mind can offer is IT.

  When the mind is completely still and quiescent, what is here?

  Stop giving credence to beliefs and mind generated stories and drama. Let go and fall into the vast depths of the silent and actual reality of Being within your most intimate center, and see what can be found here. Look past the mind's facades and discover what is Real. Realize what you really are.

  The heart of the true believer.

  this is my first time posting.

  i read many of the comments provided by forum users and immediately started to experience once more the pain and hurt that i, my wife, and others feel who have been labeled and made to feel unworthy by, the organization.

  the way i cope in my life is to believe in god's own words, not man's.

  Thank you for your concern and good will.

  Continuing to study God's Word will solve your inner conflict.

  If you are referring to study of the Bible, it may be more common -- because of the contradictory and confusing nature of the Bible -- to become more perplexed and conflicted. That said, if it works for you, it works for you.

  Personally, much of my inner conflict was alleviated when I stopped reading the damn thing and stopped reducing the Divine to anthropomorphic tribal deities that required my appeasing.

  has anyone seen this documentary?

  i saw it on hbo and it is very enlightening and upsetting.. it is about how easily the voting machines in the u.s. can be hacked into and votes changed.

  there are many, many examples and proof shown about times it was done.

  Mulan, though I have not seen the film you mention I agree that the computerized voter machines are too easy to manipulate; and if they can be, they probably will be.

  The New Kadampa Tradition - Can anyone tell me about this?

  i have a question i hope those who are familiar with the practice of buddhism can help me with.

  after several years of reading about eastern religious philosophy, i've decided to go a step further and seek direct instruction in buddhist meditation and practice.

  i live too far away from a major city to regularly attend the many choices of meditation classes available there.

  like they knew the universal definition of the word or something,.. if i want something like a beer...is that "lust"?

  Have you ever had an encounter with a UFO?

  when i was about 16 years old, a group of us friends would go hiking a lot on the weekend.

  we would rough it to some degree, just a sleeping back and sleeping under the stars.

  one night, while hiking into a lake in northern california, we all were sleeping in a clearing just out of legal distance from a small mountain lake we liked to fish in.
