  New here.. Scoobys cat and I'm confused...

  i'm "cooking fat" (at least my name sounds like that when he calls me in) scooby's cat, and whilst scoobs is away at the meeting,(you wouldn't see me dead in there) i thought i'd grab the chance to post in his absence.

  my problem is that he insists on feeding me kit-e-kat, when what i really want is whiskers supermeat.

  he reckons that only apostates feed their cats whiskers in this time of the end.... and i can't think why.

  Disfellowshipping as Viewed by the Watchtower Society

  can someone please direct me to the society's own comments regarding not shunning disfellowshipped ones.

  i looked for this through their website as well as through this one and i can't seem to locate it.

  could anyone help??

  The society is doing this now for fear of mass exodus. People JUST CAN'T LEAVE.....They now have to put in the added fear of being treated as a df'd one if you decide it's just not for you anymore. Before, you could leave and still keep your family(if there were no serious sins involved, or if they were'nt able to make up any to pin on you)...Maybe too many people took 'em up on this loophole, with all the negative press and what not. Heck, they have to do SOMETHING. Believe me folks, there's gonna be a lot more where this came from.

  Witness Numbers Going Down???

  I see NO DECLINE in jw numbers based on my personal observations. This does'nt mean they are not actually going down, it's just my personal observations. It does'nt mean that it's the truth either. The Catholics' numbers are pretty high, but I don't think they have the "truth" either. Just because the Watchtower says their numbers are rising, they could be lying, they've lied about a lot of other stuff, so why not their numbers.

  the public talk was on "loyalty"- ...speaker gave examples of loyalty in bible times...i.e: esau and jacob...esau sold his birthright for a bowl of stew...not loyal of him.

  david was loyal, even though he "erred" when he messed around with bathsheba, then plotted to murder her husband.

  we need to be loyal.

  I just read the section about the "Slave". And it is a crock of BS. Written in 1957. Do you know how many doctrines have changed since 1957? A lot. Is this doctrine still the same "truth" that Jah gave the slave in 57. God's direct channel huh? Bulls##t.

  given that your wts has frequently warned its members to stay away from the internet, and that bad association spoils useful habits, why is it that you persist in posting on this site, which is quite obviously populated by those that are disfelloshipped, disassociated, or, at the very least, spiritually weak?

  if you lived near one of the more vocal posters would you willingly be seen by your body of elders having a conversation with them?

  or, is it the ease of anonymity that allows you to be such a hypocrite and flaunt the rules of the organisation you pathetically claim to follow?

  I'm so sick and tired of hearing about Jehovah's "enemies", how he is going to exact "divine judgement", how those not following what the guys in Brooklyn say are going to be "destroyed". ETC ETC ETC. Do you really think God plays favorites? I don't. God wants us all to have peace. The old testament where God is killing everybody is not legitimate 'Holy Scripture". It is a record of Jewish society, and a collection of laws. Jw's will say at the podium to look up a scripture in Deuteronomy that prohibits some action, but neglect to follow the scripture that only a few verses later tells us to stone to death a women who is not a virgin or some thing. Let's just pick out the scriptures we like and avoid the others, is the way the watchtower does business. Even the name "sword of Jah" connotes military vengence. The old testament is a crock as far as the way God really wants us to live. Read the New Testament (greek scriptures) to see how Jesus lived, and try to follow His example. 0nly don't tell me God is going to get me , adjust your thinking in htis manner. I am of the "annointed". I just decided.

Our Spouses, and most importantly Jehovah and HIS VISIBLE ORGANIZATION. Again the fear of apostasy rears it's head Sunday. We were "admonished" to stay clear of those speaking "different things" in the Cong. 'Do we have a tendency to have doubts or look with a "critical eye" when we are counseled by Jehovah through His earthly channel, "The Faithful and Discreet Slave Class?". "We have been counseled by the Faithful Slave in the past to avoid the poisonous words of the enemies of Jehovah, have you been heeding this counsel?. Loyalty to Jehovah and HIS ORGANIZATION, will safeguard us if we are ever tempted to consider APOSTATE REASONINGS. Jehovah God values LOYALTY above all other things. He will exact divine judgement on those acting DISLOYALLY". .....The apostate stuff was only addressed for about the last 15 minutes of the talk...But it seemed as though all the boooooring Bible examples....Boaz, Dorcas, Jonah, Job, etc. were a lead in to the speakers last 15 minutes of warning us against being dis-loyal to the Org = Disagreeing with any directions from the FDS. Which leads me to a question..... at Matt. 24:45 it says.."Who really is the Faithful and discreet Slave?" You know, that's a good freaking question. How can the Watchtower base their whole foundation for control and manipulation on an un-answered question?

  Don't they interpret the Wheat as being true servants of God, and the Chaff being the rest of the evil world?

  i know some have posted similar topics like this, but i thought it might be kind of fun (for the new ones that are coming here in droves) and others, to give some examples of catch phrases etc, that are unique to the jw world.

  here's a few to start:.... "muster up boldness", "sound down into our hearts","satan's crafty acts", "paradisaic", "young ones"," discernment".....these are just a few of the more irritating.

  It's peer pressure.....You almost have to move out of town to get out. Some have done that.
