i know this may sound kind of dum to talk about but its been a pain for a long time now.
my big toe on my left leg has been hurting i think it to be caused by a ingrown nail but i don't see anything and i cut the nail stright accross.
the side of mmy nail is inflamed and if i really get mad at it and squeeze hard on my toe pus will come out i soak it in salt water at night and put neosporen on it and wear shoes that have room for my toe, though its just been the last few weeks that i have wised up and got a pair that fits.

kingdom melodies did it for me everytime.. i tired so hard not to have uncharitable thoughts about the ppl who wrote the tunes and words to the kingdom melodies.
there were about 2 that i could stomach.. the rest were so totally uninspiring and mechanical.. .i can say that apart from maybe 2 i didnt get any up lifting joy from them.. elders complained that ppl wern't learning the tunes and singing properly.they got realy irritated over it .but i really really hate the dam songs .
eveyone sounded totally joyless

a friend of mine in an undisclosed province of this great country canada is undergoing some duress -- it seems the elders from her old kh keep phoning her/leaving her messages with ultimatums and places they feel she should meet her, when really (and astonishly enough) she just wants to be left alone, having felt this way since a divorce in the spring of this year no longer attending meetings.
my query - is there any form of cease and desist order, or restraining oder she could get that would make any further attempts to contact her a breach of some sort, resulting in lawful punishment?.
oh and by the way, hello old friends, and happy birthday valis - you rawk
Why don't the elders worry about their own eternal salvation and stop worrying about everyone else's?.
coming out of the lurking mode to give you all a report on the 2 day ca that i attended this past weekend.
i always enjoy other reports that have been posted so i thought i would share my observations.
i attend with my jw hubby to keep him company so he doesn't have to go alone, that's the only reason that i go.. i didn't take any notes, so i'm doing this by memory.
My question still stands..; DID THE SPEAKER REALLY SAY THAT STUFF ABOUT THE UN SPECIFICALLY? My reason for placing such importance on this is that it could be key to really seperating 3 of my close relatives from the borg. My Mother was very disturbed by that UN connection and said that it is only a matter of new light from the Society, and the light keeps getting brighter...(blah,blah,blah) and the Society would never talk about the UN being 'bad" ever again in view of this new light. Incidentally, she does'nt buy the library card excuse either, which is a huge step. If anyone can help with this it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Congratulations.

Hapgood,
He brought out how disgusting it was for any Religion to have anything to do with the UN and promoting peace.
Did he REALLY say this, or is it just the gist you got, or your interpretation of, his talk?.

barbara anderson and joseph anderson vs watchtower society.
as you may remember the watchtower has petitioned the circuit court of manchester tennessee to dismiss the case against them filed by barbara and joe anderson.

I have to say that I hope that this case sets a precedent that the Watchtower can't get away with the crap they have been getting away with. I must also add that I am only cautiously optimistic. The tower has a LOT OF MONEY as we all know, and rest assured they will use ALL THEIR RESOURCES to fight this thing, Maybe that's why they are asking for more donations so much lately. My hope of course, is that justice will prevail. But I have to think it will be an uphill battle, but at least we have hope. If enough s#$t is thrown against the wall, some of it is bound to stick.

the dec. 1 watchtower is very remarkable - it is rare to read such a forthright article begging for money.. i don't recall any such appeal except when the society went into a panic over their 'voluntary donation arrangement'.
some years ago.. the article contains about 10 paragraphs concerning the need for more money ( "tithing", "material goods").
but only two about pioneering!
I wonder what my Aunt will say about this. She has always said that one of the key reason's for her leaving the Catholic Church was that they never passed around a collection plate at the Kingdom Hall.

it seems to me that jws in the workplace fall into three basic categories: (1) the matter-of-fact type who goes about his/her business, not hiding his/her religious afflililation and seldom if ever initiates conversations on religious topics, but who nonethless hews to the wtbs party line on involvement in non-business social events, i.e.
office holiday parties, etc.
handling any inquiries succinctly; (2) the aggressive type that seeks opportunity to ``give a witness" to workmates, who brings in and displays prominently wt literature and reads or studies his/her wt at lunchtime and at coffee breaks; or (3) the ``double lifer" easy-going type who's one of the boys/gals and who onlyreveals his/her religious affliliation reluctantly or under duress, yet away from work is a regular meeting attender and active in ``field service.".
I was a #3 most of the time. I would actually go out and have a smoke with my co-workers at times before I got baptized.

i was still a jw.
i came here looking for answers to my questions and doubts.
I think most of us on here mean no physical harm to witnesses. I personally care a lot for the witnesses, that's why I'm so ticked off at the management of the watchtower for deceiving the rank and file so badly, I think they do so intentionally, I really do. I guess I would just like to see them just go away, but emotions run high in this matter and people start to panic because we don't see the "end" to the Tower in sight, and some of us desire to expedite the process, and we start to "fantasize" about different ways to accomplish this end. Yes, some take it too far, and it's not right.
