  Is 2034 ''New Light''?

  bear with me.

  over the years jw have always strived after/prophesied (even though they deny this) a carrot ''date''.

  as dates come and go, we hear about ''new light'', but according to the wt :-a new view of truth never can contradict a former truth.

  There was a Watchtower study article that alluded to 2034...But did not actually come out and say to watch out for it. But interestingly, the watchtower conductor got a goofy smile on his face like he had just achieved a spiritual "orgasm", and speculated himself...saying; "Well friends, we can see here how the society is not saying that the end will come in 2034, but it clearly points out in this article that it may just be a year to look forward to". The conductor is a weird guy whos muscles twitch, and he constantly looks like he's receiving some sort of electric shock throughout his body. He lives with his mother, and has shunned the idea of marriage. You know, because the end is just around the corner. He always says "yessssh" not "yes". And sports this stupid smile to every point the watchtower brings out, as if it is some glorious, precious, spiritual nugget, sent from God himself. "Aren't we thankful friends that.......etc, etc, etc."

  as i was reading about conspiracies and whistle blowers i couldnt help but think of what is happening at wts and esp people like ray franz,barbara anderson and bill bowen and others.

  As to the "Holy Roller" play against the Chargers...It happened to be the 3rd game of the regular season...NOT the playoffs...AND the play was totally legal at the time. They changed the rule afterword. That pales in comparison to losing in the playoffs.

  Can someone explain Ezekiel 4:12-17. Did God approve of eating Human feces?

  my atheist cousin insist that the bible is full of contradictions, and lies and he uses ezekiel 4:12-17 to try and prove that jehovah is just as sick and demented as satan the devil.

  he showed me these scriptures where jehovah told ezekiel to bake cake using human feces but ezekiel refused to do it.

  1)The immaculate "deception" of Franco Harris against Oakland (in '74??) playoffs...You NEVER see him actually catch the ball. If that happened today, it would have been reviewed and the Raiders would have won. PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

  2)Rob Lytle 'NOT" fumbling agianst Oakland in the '78 AFC Championship game. It was "obviously" a fumble, NOBODY can dispute that.

  3)Pretty boy Tom Brady's so called "non fumble" in the playoffs against Oakland a few years back.

  Oakland has consistently been screwed by the NFL and it's officials who have had it in for Al Davis for over 30 years. And DESPITE everyone working against them..(the officials, the league, et al) they STILL managed to win 3 Superbowls, and appear in 5.

  I must say that the articles written for todays Awake, and a lot of the Watchtower articles, are dummied down a bit, but I'll tell you, some of that stuff from some of the older books, like; "Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God" and the like are pretty difficult for the layman to grasp. It could be because books like that were written in such a convoluted, confusing manner intentionally so they could say that only the "Special People" of the Faithful Slave Class could understand it, and thereby decipher it's "deep" meanings, so as to pass its glorious truths to the flock. Or it could just be a goobly mess of gobbely goop.

  What's the last good fantasy or scifi book that you could'nt put down?

  so what's the last fantasy/scifi book that you read that was just so good you could'nt put it down until you were done reading it?

  i need a few recommendations, i'm in the mood for a good book.. for me the last really good scifi book was orson scott card's "ender's game".

  for a long time i avoided this book because i thought it was aimed at a younger audience, but after hearing so many people praise it i finally took a chance on it.
