It's not haughty at all to make judgements based another persons comments; if you read the posts we are doing that all the time. If we didn't make judgements on other peoples comments nobody would say anything on this board.

You said "once he got what he wanted'. That makes it sound to me (imo) like you were suggesting that this guy jumped thru all those ridiculous JW hoops of courtship for the one time shot of going to bed with you. If you had said that he was only in the relationship for sex, it would sound a lot more reasonable.

Maybe that's what you meant. Maybe not.

Not a judgement, an observation. I merely stated what it sounded like.

I appreciate your story, but I find it hard to believe, and kind of haughty of you to assume any man would go through all the efforts of courtship, and everything that goes with it, just so he could have the pleasure of finally getting in your pants. Damn; are you some super model or something? Even if you were, NO MAN is going to go thru all that JW courtship crap just so he could finally get some action.

What's a JW's main motivator?

what's the main motivating force behind the average jw?.

i'd say it's a fear of their own death.

fear of dying.

I'd say the above WAS true, but I still maintain a good percentage of the Jw's still "in", are in because they are afraid of losing their friends and family.

I don't know what % exactly, but I know more than a few who are strictly going thru the motions, and really don't believe in it.

Juts my 2 cents worth.

What if you put an envelope in the box- "For the Lawsuits" ?

another thread made a similar suggestion, so i thought what if....?.

what would happen if you put an envelope in the donation box with a check, and on the .

envelope (also on the comments portion of the check) it said "for the child-abuse lawsuits".

Financially this is NOTHING to the WTS.

Think about it; All they have to do is announce at the meeting that they need one dollar from every publisher for a "special" fund and EVERYONE would comply; in fact, a lot of hapless dubs would actually put in more. Heck, everyone would even go along with 5 dollars per. That would generate close to 6 million right there, wirth just ONE announcement.

What a deal they got going on in Brooklyn.

i responce to this post .

i'll start it off, then someone else give them a different challenge if you can think of any.. please give definitive examples that by evolution, a species has changed into something else.

give two separate findings by scientists, and it can't include any comments like "so we believe", "so we conclude that", or "the evidence shows that there could have been".....the wts has those copyrighted.. try and give un-doctored photographic proof, where possible, etc.

I don't need a "picture" of something, to know it exists/existed.

if i had to be tied down i would say disfellowshipping.

totally unnecessary and i really think it spans itself into a lot of other wt policies/mindsets.

Our Watchtower Study On obedience & submission

yesterday we have a study of the watchtower about obedience and submission.

this study arose a lot of questions and heightened emotions in me and the interested retired judge sitting besides me.

we came accross the 9th pharagraph, page 28 of the april 1, 2007, where it says that: "it is easy to obey when everything is clear and we agree, but we will show that we are trully submissive if we yeild even when we do not personally understand the direction provided.
