  Have you ever felt this way?

  do any of you ever feel for some odd reason that this could really be the "truth"?

  i see what's going on in the world today and the stuff my mother usually spews is starting to make sense.

  i feel like i'm being sucked back in.

  Rick,

  I know what you're saying. I have felt the same way, but I finally got to the point (many points) when I realized that I would not want to survive Armageddon and live a new world where God refused to resurrect my Father because he heard the "truth" and did'nt accept it, even though it was presented to him by a couple of half retarded, drooling, book bag toters, who did'nt know their arse from a hole in the ground. C'mon, do you really believe God would judge a person worhty or unworthy based on this criteria?, and would you really want to live in a "paradise earth" where only witnesses survive?, and the whole place is run based on the restrictions of the watchtower? If God (Jehovah) were really this militaristic,vengeful God as depicted by the Jw's, do you really want to be "In" anyway? I believe in God, but not the one the Jw's try to sell to us.

  An Elder Visited Me Today At Work

  a very nice elder came by to invite me to the circuit overseer's visit, which will be next week.

  i was told that i was very missed by him and many others and he got teary eyed.

  i told him that i truly appreciated his concern and always liked him as a fine person.

  The circuit overseers' visit to me, was always like "Who cares?" What was so special about his visit that anybody should get all excited about? All it ever was was "DO MORE, DO MORE" in service, and then the obligatory B.S about us being close to the end.. blah,blah,blah. Why would witnesses even encourage Bible studies to go see him? You tell the Bible study; "You need to come here this special speaker who is going to talk about how to convert people, just like I am trying to convert you. Does'nt that sound like fun?" I would be scared to spoil the ruse by inviting "interested ones" to see the C.O.

  Militant Apostates

  i'm wondering if there are many truly militant apostates out there....... some real god hating watchtower bashing hard guys....i just read the "bill bowen update" thread and feel that all opposition is good opposition, and knowing that the wt society can see any posts we make, also feel its a shame they can see squabbles among their enemies.

  in my year and a half as a member of a couple ex-jw forums i have seen what i perceive to be a massive error on both my part and the part of others.

  the mistake is this: judgeing someone simply from their on-line personality and statements.

  Passing the time at boring meetings

  i was doing some cleaning this weekend and ran across a drawer with a few of my old calculators, including my very first one.

  today they have ones that are credit-card sized that do more.

  but i remember getting it when i was about 12 and in 6th or 7th grade and at that time in the late 70's a calculator this size was still sort of a gadget.. for some reason the first thing that bounced into my mind when i pulled it out and looked at it was my old hall at the time.

  i'm testing my hypothosis here.... the question is this.... "does the wt org.

  get special revelations from god today.".

  if they answer "yes," then they are going against the bible which says that all scripture is complete.. if the say "no," then we can say, "then why do you say we should follow you.".

  i went to a party last night.

  as i stood there enjoying the gratifying numbness of a bourban, i couldn't help but feel a vast disconnect between myself and the scene at hand: ridiculously loud music with the bass at three times it's normal level, sweaty bodies smoking with abandon the filthy weeds between their fingers, people coming in the door shouting a barbaric "what up!
