I just wonder why one doesn't land in Bank One Ballpark during a game and get it over with. Those buggers are so elusive.

Circuit assembly today.
by apocalypse inwe just got back from our circuit assembly.
in the final discussion, the district overseer went on about 'not having anything to do with organizations or any part or branches of organizations that would have objectives contrary to kingdom interests.
it was quite obvious to those in the know, that he was talking about the united nations scandal.

Man, to drone along, though. I can't imagine it. What kind of a life is that for you? With no insults intended, you are making yourself a hypocrite by acting like you still believe the BS. How can you choose hypocracy?

Don't Get Me Wrong Farkel
by Derrick ini am not by any stretch of the imagination a 'watchtower apologist.
' your recent assessment of me in this regard not only missed the bullseye but strayed so far off course it almost hit innocent onlookers.
then why am i giving the watchtower society unbiased treatment by (gulp) pointing out their positive aspects not just accentuating the negative?.

Shunning/Going To Meetings Question
by reubenfine ini was never df'd or da'd.
i am curious if you ever were and were reinstated, what was it like to be shunned and treated as a non-person while sitting in the rear of the hall?
i can only imagine it to be the utmost humiliation on top of a public disfellowshipping and can't imagine having to go through it.

I can only imagine it to be the utmost humiliation on top of a public disfellowshipping and can't imagine having to go through it. Maybe it is one reason when the vast majority of reinstated people are anemic in meeting attendance and witnessing.
Was the resultant love bombing upon reinstatement phony to you?

How did you feel about 'fake' witnesses?
by Simon ini'm sure you know the ones i mean ... they decided to have a family 'present day' on dec 26th each year so that the kids could announce what presents they got while the rest of us 'zealots' were getting the piss taken out of us.. at the time, i could not understand how or why they did it or got away with it - it seemed obvious to me that thwy were celebrating christmas and we were not supposed to.
but hell, what did i know ... i was only a kid ... not an elder .
now, i kind-a-think "yeah, do what's right for your kids" but also "you're not fooling anyone!

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 11-24 WT Study
by blondie insorry this is late.. comments you will not hear at the wt study 11-24-02. october 1, 2002 watchtower page 17. cultivate obedience as the end draws near"to [shiloh] the obedience of the peoples will belong.
"genesis 49:10. introduction.
the first thought that went through my mind was why obedience was highlighted so much, what happened to love?

Yes, folks you cannot obey the Bible without obeying the faithful slave. But you can obey the faithful slave and not obey his Word. And once again Gods blessings are dependent on being obedient to the FDS.
LMAO! I love your posts, blondie. I didn't see the article, but did the good judge have a glass of whiskey in his hand while he sunned in Beth Sarim! hehe

Anyone taken legal action in DF'ing?
by startingover ina close friend of mine, in fact a lurker here, got a call last night inviting him to a jc meeting, accused of apostasy.
he would like to avoid this because of the things it would complicate, and would like to just be left alone.
i know in the past i have read comments of some who have threatened legal action in this situation.

I don't believe a shunning lawsuit would win in the US. I'm just a lowly paralegal, but my schooling and research have shown that the US government will bend over backwards to stay out of religious problems unless an obvious law is being broken. They'll probably also CYA somehow by saying, "Well, we didn't tell them to shun you. We just said anyone who's a decent Christian would shun you," or some BS like that.
I say we shun THEM!

Make me GAG: WTS website article
by Scully in.
it looks like the article with "those who simply leave the faith are not shunned" has been replaced by this one:.

Good point, rocky. I also think they were subliminally saying, "Don't bother to sue us for anything because you won't win." Of course, when I sent them a typed 4-page letter stating the results of my legal research, I got back a two paragraph letter saying my opinion was unreasonable without disproving ONE POINT! hehe Well, since it was from Brooklyn, it HAD to be right! What was I thinking? sheesh.............
