so the elder i studied with called round last wednesday.
i didn't tell him i'd lost my faith, i just said there are a number of reasons i wouldn't be able to return to either my studies or the meetings.
he asked me whar 2 or 3 of my reasons are so we could discuss them.. my reply: 1 i think all christians should partake of the bread and wine.

All the replies above will hopefully be very helpful to YOU, but please don't waste time and energy on this elder. Should he be open-minded enough to consider what he is promoting/protecting when he comes to see you may in fact be a complete lie, what you've already said is enough to get the cogs moving.

a few months prior to baptism i had shoulder length hair which i loved and had wanted ever since i was a child.
i remember sitting with an elder during a bible study and asking him point blank if i 'had' to cut my hair.
whilst the answer was given slightly awkwardly the answer was a no, "there are no rules that say you have to cut your hair".
I have always been madly inlove with Robert Plant. Imagining him minus all that wild rock n' roll hair - unthinkable!!!
Your hair is a part of your identity. I remember one young 'brother' in our cong who returned from the big bad world with shoulder-length hair. Slowly but surely his hair was trimmed; it took a few years but the WTS won in the end - he ended up with a boring ol' short and sides, like all the other men. If you suit your hair long and it's length is part of your identity - don't cut it for the WTS! I am sorry you've become baptised, but you've come to a great site if you ever need advice or just a listening ear.

once the kids were in bed, i set up my daughters new kitchen play set took me a little over 2 hours but was fun.
this morning we came down stairs and the joy on my kids faces and the wow!

I remember some adult faders would come back because they'd had children out in the 'world' & were petrified their children would die in the big A if they didn't hurry up and become active JW's again. I understand now that these people were still indoctrinated & genuinely scared, but back then I always felt sorry for their children. They'd been so close to a JW-free life!
