If they want you out then they will find a way or trump something up. (Been there done that.) It is a sad state of affairs when the borg is thicker than blood. Control of information is a way to control decisions made by members. If the people you call friends are only friend if you meet certain conditions then were they truely your friends.
Hang in there and enjoy the freedom.

If the organization is a diamond, what are we???
by spiritwalker inas a witness, i remember the illustration of the diamond, in regards to the organization.
it referenced the fact that a diamond, when examined from afar, looks perfect and like something of high value.
yet when you looked closer, it has minor scratches and flaws that make up the large more perfect picture.

Hmmm sounds like you are mixing metaphors.
Let's keep with the gem illustration.
WTS might be like a Diamond but a flaw is still a flaw and it is very hard to polish our a scratch when made of an unyieldingly hard material. To get rid of a flaw in a diamond it must be cut out, discarded or put so some minor (read industrial) use. Like a Diamond the WTS is transparent when examined closely. But from a distance a badly flawed diamond would sparkle and appear to have great value.
The xJuu (I love that one from carmel) would also be in the gem catagory. They would be likened to an opal. From a distance it would appear to be of little value. No two are alike, with a little hard work even the worst scratches can be polished out. But unlike a diamond it is the inner workings that make the opal special. The little inclusions and flaws catch the sunlight to form irredescent patterns. The irridesence has many colors, many shapes and changes as you look at the opal from different angles. It is the one who pauses to look closer that sees the true beauty within flaws and all.

How important is the Devil to God?
by Narkissos ina few days ago, on the thread about ?a new view of the trinity?, rubadub voiced his disappointment as to the lack of any really new view, such as a fourth member who could turn it into a quadrinity or replace any of the members of the trinity in case of emergency.
at the moment i just laughed, but later on i thought the devil could be a very good candidate.
just think: under the influence of persian dualism, shortly after yhwh, the god of ancient israel, became god in the absolute sense (say in the 6th century bc, with second isaiah), satan (from a common hebrew noun meaning ?opposer?

The sioux had a saying that translated something like this:
The warrior is judged by the strength of his enemies.
So if you want to have a great and powerful god you must have a powerful antagonist.

The Un-Christmas Gift
by 76crash ini just received my annual un-christmas gift from my mom.
it contained 2 dishtowels, an awake!, a watchtower, 2004 daily text, the book "worship the only true god", and a letter.
the letter was the kicker, in it she directed me to an article she "really appreciated" in the awake!

Maybe you should soil the towels and send them back to her for cleaning.

Moon Landing Conspiracy?

What about the empirical evidence? With the powerful telescopes now available to the public it should be possible to dial in on the landing sites to see if in fact there were landings on the moon. What about the laser reflector left (by Apollo 11?) that can be used to precisely measure the distance to the moon? While the ambient light reflected from the moon will wash out most normal photography using different wavelengths it might be possible to look at the landing sites and see the trace evidence (tracks made by the lunar rover etc) of activity at the landing sites. This isn?t even considering a tasking of space based observatories that have much greater resolution being trained on the landing sites.
There are too many ways to poke a hole in the No-Landing theory with just the physical evidence alone.

What JW Teaching Did You Never Quite Totally Accept???
by minimus insince i was raised a witness, it was only as i got older that i started to "think" about what i was teaching and believing.
but even as a young teen, i never accepted the thought that 1975 was going to be the end of the "system of things" and the beginning of the "new system".
i just didn't quite believe that.........what belief or teaching did you have a "hard time swallowing"?

Same as SF-Jim ( no rain before the flood) as well as all dating methods used by science were wrong Wrong WRONG except when it helped prove a pet theory of the WTS. (C14, K/Ar, Pb/U) etc. How could they be inaccurate in all other instances of dating except when they supported what the rank & file were suppose to believe.
Oh yeah the 1000 years per day of creation, I guess basically pretty much anything that they tried to pass off as science.

Elders once a year check-up on DF ones.
by Blueblades inwe got this call from one of the elders who df'd one of our loved ones.he wanted to know where so and so lives, phone # etc.this after two and a half years.they wanted to make contact to see if that one wanted to return to the congregation.
( not like the prodigal, who was restored on the spot by his father, rather ,by sitting for six months in the back of the hall and given the silent treatment.
he admitted tha elders can't read the heart and make mistakes 'mistakes' destroying someones life is a mistake??

Working on 13 years.
No calls, no visits, no notes. Come to think of it they didn't bother to visit, call, or check in even when I was attending. So why would I expect any different just because it says they are suppose to in a confidential book for elders?

Can we forgive our parents??????????
by LyinEyes inguess this kind of goes with the other thread i started about looking at the inner child that is still hurtingk by posting a pic of us when we where kids.. i found this pic of my parents, my mom was just 15,,,,,my dad barely 18, shortly after , they married soon and i was born when my my was just 16. .
just looking at their faces in this moment in time, in this picture, i can see , that they were just kids too, that they were not ready to face the hardships of starting a family so soon.
i am not making excuses for the things they both did,,,,,,,,,,, they both did many things to hurt me.

((( Dede )))
I also arrived very early in my parents lives. When I was born my mother and father were 16 & 21 respectively. They made their mistakes and hurt me and my siblings as well but, I don't think I can honestly say that they didn't give it their best effort. There were times growing up I watched them do without so that we kids could have needed items. The stuff we had was not always the what we wanted but it was what we needed. To compound those troubles with the cultish teachings is a stress that I am glad I do not have to endure today as my partents did.
Forgiving them is very possible, but forgetting the harm is not. To remember what was done is to prevent the pattern from repeating itself and being passed on to the next generation.
Hang in there,
