Great job, Gretchen!
The smirk probably meant they had no reply, being brainwashed cult members. They had not been practicing this "objection" at the ministry school and service meeting. It's not covered in the Reasoning book.

you know i'm not usually the type to do this, i really didn't even think i had it in me.
i was waiting for the bus, it was time for it to pull up, i was chatting with a co-worker and standing right in the middle of a whole bunch of other people, and here come two men in suits with briefcases, one looked to be in his 20s and one older, maybe late 30s or early 40s.
the younger one tries to hand me the magazines, the new way, by shoving them in your hand.
Great job, Gretchen!

dear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

This was my post before on here and I hadn't updated anything because I wasn't sure. My sister had a little girl born Sept 29th- they named her Riley. I sent a couple baby outfits and a gift card, emailed her about a million times before realizing I wasn't going to ever get to see the pictures...
I’m so happy to hear about your sister’s baby girl . . . and I’m sorry to hear they are among the “speechless ones”. I know what that's like, as I have several "speechless ones" in my immediate family. Let’s celebrate your niece right here right now!
Woo Hoo! Congratulations, you have a beautiful new niece!!!

Wonderful news about the Christmas gifts! Trusting your sales will be beyond your wildest expectations!
Little about my day . . .
Up on the Burnaby Mountain was not so nice today. Today was our first snow storm. The double-long buses quit running --- too dangerous --- they are at risk of jack-knifing as they come down the slope. Too much weight and too much momentum. I caught a bus home and it took a half an hour longer than usual. Traffic was slowed to a crawl getting down the mountain. Thankfully I got home safe and sound. The weather forecast is calling for snow tonight and tomorrow, so I’m hoping for a day off tomorrow! *crosses fingers*

trimmed my cat's hind leg claws this morning. She doesn't like that very much, so I clip a few at a time. . . . Here kitty.......
LOL! That’s what I used to do with my cat --- clip a few at a time. I approached when she was sleeping. I got two or three clipped before she woke up enough to figure out what was going on. Then she’d run. Four or five naps later she was nicely trimmed! LOL!
Love to all,

my sister and i who are disfellowshipped have a jw elder as a father.
guess why mom and dad didn't tell us that our grandfather died a week ago?
thanks watchtower for denying us our grandfather's funeral.
(((Professor))) My condolances. I'm sorry to hear.
Skully gives good advice: Keep in mind, that your parents can't stop you from honouring your grandfather's memory in whatever way you choose, now that you know.
I agree, go ahead and plan your own special way to honor your grandfather. The process will help you heal your grief.
Remember: the speechless ones need our prayers, for a miraculous healing of their voicebox.

because the problem was on their side of the phone socket, it got repaired for free.
Gotta like when that happens!
R.Crusoe, Thanks for sharing your “batty” story! Quite the adventure.
Weatherwise it has been freezing here. Waking up and going to work with frost on the ground is not fun. Lots of accidents lately because people are not used to the ice on the streets. Me, I use public transit, so leave the driving to someone else!
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate this weekend! Gobble-gobble.

I can’t imagine you having another perspective. Unless it’s the one most of us on this forum had --- the brainwashed jw perspective perhaps? . . . Glad that’s history --- and what a lesson!

Wow, congrats Soldiergirl! What a change from dub-dumb. Pushups are not in my repertoire, either. I’d rather be dancin’

"my girlfriend was raised jw she was'nt allowed to use the phone, and was brought up very strict to say the least.
she has a 4 year old daughter, and recently moved back home with her family were she lives in their living room.
she can't call me and our only communication is through emails, when she can sneak to the computer.
33 years old and a prisoner in her parents home? Honey, she is a prisoner by her own choosing.
What grown woman would put up with that kind of treatment?
Might want to find a therapist who knows about cults.

re the troll: One of the speechless ones has found their voice! It's a miracle!!!
i was at the sunday meeting today (i know, i know...) and i heard this one guy give a comment about how hollywood movies always portray rich people as happy and successful, so that's proof that satan controls the film industry because it's a lie.. .
i struggled to think of one recent hollywood film that portrayed anyone as being happy, let alone rich and happy.
if they made a movie like this guy was describing, it wouldn't sell.
Hmmm . . . a syllogism, eh? First time I heard the word.
Thanks, Farkel!

now that i can see right through the crap that is the jw religion, i sometimes ask myself - how come you blindly believed all that rubbish for 30 years??!!
i am so annoyed with myself for that - i have a degree, yet i was totally duped for such a large part of my life.
and now that i can see how so full of holes it all is, i kick myself for not seeing it before.
I've stopped beating myself up for being so blind. I was born and raised into the cult, so it took me a long time to see through the cracks.
Glad I finally did, though!
On with life!
