i will preface the start of this first by saying this happened many years ago - in 1985 when i had just become a new father myself to my dear son flipper junior, i'll call him.

when i explain this to you, some of this may appear comical, in fact, now that i overcame it years ago, i can laugh at it, but when you see the totality of the story- when it happened then to me- it was no laughing matter.

OMG . . . I'm shocked, Mr. Flipper. Elders acting so disrespectfully and abusively. Perhaps their "acting out" is their reaction to being controled by the borg. Not surprisingly their wives left such situations. These elders need psychiatric help --- or prison!

for me, it's having friends that i don't have to hide my lack of meeting attendance/service from.

it's amazing how they teach you that only jws can be your real friends, but in reality, it's all contingent upon your religious "performance.

" sure, if you're not going to meetings, they'll try to be "friends," by encouraging you to go back.

I am getting sick of these Scientology adverts!!!

it seems to me that whenever i click a new page that a new scientology advert either springs up on the right hand side or down the bottom.. if they stayed still it would be ok, but they don't, you try to read a thread and out of the corner of your eye somethings moving and its scientology!!!.

i have clicked on it a couple of times and the site isn't even that good.

do they really think that by linking the site to xjw's they are going to get converts?

Do you have a spritual eating disorder?

with all the talk of puking on the site lately, i wonder if many of us don't have spiritual eating disorders.... after all, many posters say things like "i'm puking in my mouth" while reading a pro-jw poster.. perhaps some have to really spiritually puke after attending a jw meeting to get the wt influence out.. so are you a spiritual bulimic?

I find it best to avoid all foods that make me naseous. So I quit goin' to them meetings. No more diet of dub grubs to bug me -- ha! Love the term! Had to take it a step further . . .

I'm sorry to hear your family is shunning you. I know how that feels, as my children shun me. One good thing about shunning though . . . you get to live your best life without their interference!

I'm glad to hear you are being true to yourself.

The jws set a person up to fail if they leave the religion. I was too determined to let that happen to me. And I'm glad to hear you did not let the beliefs of the dubs destroy you. Instead you took control of your life. Writing about your experiences is a very healing process. Keep loving your Self and live your life fully --- just as you please!

"Why does America always bomb other countries?", my son asked tonight.

first of all i do not want to turn this into an american bashing thread, that is not my intention at all.. i would like to hear americans opinions as to what my thirteen year old son asked me tonight.. on the way back from swimming tonight my two sons (13 and 11) and myself started talking about wars.

my 11 year old was the first to bring it up talking about wwi & ww2.

we had an interesting conversation about it, then the subject got onto nuclear bombs.
