its seems that her refusal of a transfusion wasnt the significant factor in her death, therefore from what ive heard JWs can say that it was the operation that killed her and not her refusal of blood.

The Woman Who Put Faith Before Her Own Life
by anonwest inhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=425267&in_page_id=1770.
the basis for the watchtower society's blood doctrine is so weak - it saddens me that the the org are still letting people die over this issue.. comments at the bottom brand this poor woman selfish.
they don't realise that had the woman accepted blood, she would be shunned by rest of congregation.

Otherwise Engaged...
by LittleToe injust a little breaking news:.
after several years of a great friendship with diane (previously posted as xena) things have started to really come together recently and i've succumbed to making an honest woman of her (or at least as honest as it's possible to make her.
last night (xmas day) i popped the question and she agreed to marry me (i wonder if she knows what she's let herself in for!!!)..

Bush's war on terrorism a failure?
by frankiespeakin ini think bush's method of fighting terrorism only creates more terrorism.
the us government has acted like a terrorist to the people in iraq, such actions canonly lead to more justification in the minds of would be terrorist.

It's bush's 'war on terror' not 'war on terrorism'. work that one out.

Britain Under Surveillance
by daystar infar from following the u.s.' lead, britain appears to be way ahead of the pack in spying on its own people.. brothers, is this all true?
how far will we, the masses, let this sort of thing go?
americans, if this sort of thing is allowed, and works, where do you think it will go next?.

What we need to be concerned with is the erosion of liberties, not being under surveillance.
so how will the camera surveillance network come into play when we get to the stage when those liberties are totally eroded? when habeas corpus is gone, wouldnt the network be very useful to locate and detain certain people (by using face recognition technology) the government didn't like such as those people concerned about 'liberties'?
its my opinion that the vast majority of people are too stupid or apathetic to realise that the actual tools are being put in place to be used by government in a totalitarian way. people will get what they deserve i guess.

GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY!
by Butters ini cannot believe what i saw happen today at the store.. i was at wal-mart browsing various electronics and digital cameras and such, when i heard behind me, "brother hardy, how are you!"...
first thing i thought was oh shit, they found me, and forgot my real name, or have me mixed up with someone else.. turns out, this disfellowshiped witness was there at the store and saw one of his congregation members there.
now i personally have never been part of the shunning process myself, but here i am, an ex-jw watching from the other aisle, a bunch of shit that i never thought i would see the lights of day on.... the brother, this "hardy" i guess, looked up at the man with a smile, but then when he realized who it was, he immediately frowned and started pushing his shopping cart away looking straight ahead and not even acknowledging the man... (here's where i jump in..).

when y'all just gonna learn to chill out for once? smoke some fat ones, and you'll see the story in a completely different light.

Five years posting!
by LittleToe init doesn't seem two minutes since i first joined this site.
on the other hand it feels like i've been here forever, accumulating about 15,000 posts in the process.. it was a wednesday (12 september 2001) on a small island off the west coast of scotland .
in recent months i had experienced a spiritual awakening of such proportions that it caused me to question one after another of the beliefs that i'd been raised with as a jw.

House of Spiritual Stuff
by Moomin inlast month, my husband and i went on holiday with my family and stayed in a big house in the norfolk countryside.
the couple who owned the house couldn't afford the upkeep but didn't want to sell.
they made one of the barns habitable for themselves and then rented the house out for holidays.

yes i think they would leave. they'd be far too frightened to stay. you know how superstitious they are. although the statue does sound rather strange and kinky!
p.s. think u might have to give me the address!
