i met some friends from austrailia and we were talking politics.
they said that everybody in austrailia had to vote.
if you did not vote you are fined.
I never voted or did jury duty as a dub. When I proved I was a minister of religion I was exempted from jury duty and every election time I just sent the form back to the electoral office explaining that I had voted for Jesus quoting scriptures etc, etc and nothing ever happened. Very boring hey!
But I am voting this year.....................and boy am I glad to have my say! YEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A friend of mine when in her 20s became a dub. She always talked to me about the borg and troof and I listened. When I had my 1st child and experienced the miracle of life and unconditional love I began to really question the purpose of life but more so the reason for death. From MY own bible my friend showed me scriptures that made sense. I guess I was having an informal study.
As my marriage and health deteriorated I began to dream of a peaceful, safe life. That's when I began to rely more on the dubs and the borg. All the love bombing clouded their hidden agendas and I believed they were god's people on earth. It took me about 12 years of spasmotic studies and indecisivness before I became a dedicated dub.
I was looking for god,truth, love, family, support and happiness. And for a while it seemed that the borg was providing all those things. But it really wasn't long before I started to notice things weren't right. The rest is history.
I thought it might be interesting to compare how many of us here were converts or born dubs.

check out the official jw-media site and find their 'official' response to the accusations of child abuse within its organisation.. they simply feature this quote:.
"people didn't have the body of knowledge 18 or 20 years ago to say that this is something that will harm your child emotionally, if you don't address it.
parents didn't know the seriousness ... and the long-term effects.".
This just brings up so much anger and emotion.
Those bloody lying idiots treating people like they are ignorant and stupid.
So the light wasn't shining 18-20 years ago! Right!
Geeze they're full of it. I hate their guts for what they did to my child, me, my family and every other trusting soul who has suffered at the hands of the WTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm an inactive witness, been so for a few months now.
got put off mostly by 1914 being hammered more and more lately, the child molestation issue, the un-ngo thing and just feeling like i don't want to shoot my mouth off and get labelled apostate so best to fade out.

i went out with girl-friends last night so i slept in this morning.
had breakfast with hubby as the kids are out and about, and read the paper.. i will potter around home a bit and tidy up, then hubby and i will go to do a bit of shopping and throw some wts cardboard cases into the recycling depot.. later on this afternoon we are meeting some friends down at the lake to watch an open air screening of tropfest which is a competition to find the best short film, made by unknown film makers in australia.
some music, wine and fine food...........should be great.. then home to get ready for the next week of work........... and not one second regretting my choices!.
See......................after the borg people still have a life, do what they want..............and are happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jws go door to door with their book bags and bibles and try to spread their doomday tactics to as many as possible, but are they really trying to save you or are they pressured to recruit to save themselves.it reminds me of someone selling encyclopedias at doors ,if people don't buy you don't get paid.i remember irritating people at their homes trying to get them to listen to me about the end comming and thinking only of recruiting to save myself.at that time i don't think i was actually thinking of myself but looking back on it that is what it was.jws are actually in it for them selves to save their own butts.it is a devotion of self love ,to themselves and the watchtower.

I was emotionally and spiritually sick when I became a dub.......I needed to save the world and myself! I had left an alcoholic husband but was still in high control mode.
But I have always been a people person so going door to door and meeting new people was a real joy for me...........and dead easy. I did believe the WTS was the true organisation and that their teachings were right so passing that onto others was no problem.
But I did do it primarily for myself in the beginning! Later it was to save the world, and a hint of control still!
Sorry to say I studied with many people, 8 at one time! And 5 became dubs. Fortunately 3 have come out but 2 are still in. Hubby and I have tried to de program them but to no avail! The best we have been able to do to redeem ourselves was to tell friends of mine who were studying with another couple, all about the UN, sexual abuse cover ups, shares, CofC, etc. They stopped the study so we did do some good!
I believe most dubs preach out of habit and fear.

And just reconfirms the fact that the borg is a pedophile paradise, supported by a bunch of legistical bastards who would rather protect a molester using legal loop-holes than an innocent child and trusting family.
Jehovah's Witnesses officials deny reports of widespread abuse, saying the incidents are isolated and mostly involved church members who weren't in positions of authority.
ISOLATED incidents?????????? What a load of sh*t. They choose to cover the facts. And so what if the abuse is not involving members in positions of authority? If it is just a member of the R&F doing the molesting.................what are those in authority doing with their AUTHORITY anyway.??????????? Are the victims getting the help they deserve? NO! Are the pedos getting help and protection for Jah's name sake? YES!
In my case the elders worked their magic in protecting the pedo and his family's name, position and reputation. Later to keep protecting the perp they df'ed me!
This news story just makes me so proud to have put my conscience and love of truth 1st. I'm proud to have walked away from that corrupt and evil organisation and proud to be associating with all you guys here who hate child abuse, lies and deception.
Jesus said to let the children go to him.............this proves the borg is definately not the 'true' religion, if there even is one!
I want to see all the filth in the WTS be exposed. And I want to see all dubs eat humble pie.

i remember having a ton of those books lying around, and some of them i never read.
A heart-wrenching letter. If I received anything like that I'ld be in tears.
Your letter reveals what a good, kind, loving, honest, thinking person you are..............and regardless what your brother does, that IS what you are.
I hope things work out for you and your brother but if he does not respond it will be his loss. The problem lies with him.
