not that they'd give the names and their df/da offenses.
i vaguely remember an assembly where some numbers were released regarding the number of persons disfellowshipped for a particular offense, for example:

Or is this one of those private WTBTS matters?
i haven't been df or da, just left.
i run into jw's in restaurants, grocery stores and on the street and they act so stuck up, or give me a dirty look if i smile at them and say hello.. i then think to myself, what reason do they have to act so arrogant toward me?
they support a religion that promotes the secrecy of child molestation.
Ya know...many of these Jehovah's Witnesses that I remember, like myself, have aged. For example, I met up with an old high school friend this past summer. He is not a JW, but ironically, he works for one. I hadn't seen him in nearly 21 years.
When I first saw him, I didn't even recognize him. We both changed in 21 years.
Then it got me thinking while I was visiting family in Atlantic Canada this past summer. If I have changed my looks in 20 years, so have they (JWs).
I probably wouldn't know any of them now if I saw them. It's odd, now that I live in Toronto, even those that I knew here back in 1983, would have no doubtedly changed their looks.
Running into them these days, wouldn't bother me. IF...they recognized me, I'd be surprised, but better still, that they'll end up here and figure this entire story out and tell me that they are OUT of the Borg! That'd be so cool.
But that shunning thing....oh boy...it was a toughy in the beginning. Glad it does not affect me now. But for those that it does, I feel your pain and anxiety, I've been there.

Hi Introspection.
I don't read every thread. Like pr_capone, I tend to be drawn to the ones that spark my interest.
Some threads, I have read, but don't necessarily feel like I need to respond because someone has either touched on what I would have written.
Another thing, my eyes are not the greatest. I have to use bold fonts, and after awhile I cannot focus, and things start to blur or go grey. I need bi-focals (never thought that'd ever happen to me ) which I hope to pick up, in the near future.
Some of the Biblical and scriptural threads are now not so relevant to me. Having put away the Bible and my interest in it, I find there's little now that I can contribute to those discussions. 20 years ago? Oh yeah! Nowadays, no. Besides, there are some very skilled and passionate writers on here who post responses so eloquently to some interesting biblical/doctrinal questions/challenges. I'll look in on those, and either remember the passages, or feel proud of my fellow forum mate's adeptness at explaining scripture or sharing information that may have been denied someone in a particular organization.
There is always something for someone on here. The best forum I've encountered in my on-line experience.

Joel, thanks for letting us in on what's going through your mind at present.
First off, if one person (1) loves you unconditionally: you're doing pretty good buddy.
Secondly: be glad Mitch is sticking by you.
Thirdly: (on a downer ) the WTBTS would never sanction your relationship with your partner. That's for sure.
Fourthly: it appears you are feeling a bit low these days. We can feel so vulnerable at these times. It shall come to pass. If you are taking something to help you out, good. If you are receiving counselling or are considering it, I recommend it. After being in the Borg, I needed it too and it helped me immensely.
Last, I'm glad you shared it, and I'm glad that you took the time to read many of the posts on here. You replied, and perhaps some of the posts, suggestions, hugs and humour has helped. I sure hope so.
This is a safe space, come here when you need some grounding or reassurance.
The responses I've seen overall, have been so warm. People do care, even if they have never met you. Unconditional? Absolutely .
maybe i was just curious to hear what they were going to discuss.

Hey Joelbear. I was surprised to read your post.
I cannot remember how long you've been away from the organization, but for me, it was a lonely struggle for awhile. Now, almost 20 years later, I have friends that love me unconditionally.
I have missed certain individuals from days gone by, but I know full well that if I tried to contact them, It'd be under their conditions > returning to the Kingdom Hall and being reinstated.
As far as safety, well, I haven't felt more safer than I am right now. I don't fear any apocalyptic demise of myself or others at the hand of god.
Having hope. I took out my dictionary (Canadian Gage Dictionary) and looked it up.

Perhaps there are some things that are troubling you at this time.
Perhaps, it was good for you to share this. What can we do to comfort you Joel bear ?
I hope you'll share some of your thoughts and concerns with us so that we can better understand what it is you are feeling at this time.

the other day i was a movie theater and if i wanted to - i could have seen a rated r movie - (like the old george bush on saturday night live - scary!

I do not worry that they might be right; because I don't think that they ever were (post-JW).
I am concerned about the state of affairs on this planet these days, but I don't have even an inkling that this present situation, is attributed to the 'last days' etc. or any other WTBTS prophetically inspired ponderances.
