(((((((((((Inky)))))))))))))))))))
I can see why she wouldn't want to read that letter again.
That would break any mother's heart.
My heart goes out to you.

Feeling Pretty Bad
by rebel ini hate mondays!.
i also feel bad because i have been receiving subtle hints from my hubby that he may be leaving me.
we have been married for 24 years, have 4 beautiful, intelligent children (one is no longer with us), we have been though troubles, worries, the death of our darling claire, money problems - you name it - we've been there.. now - because i have different religious views to him, he doesn't think he can associate himself with me any longer.

Your Username
by RAYZORBLADE inthere are many reasons why we choose a username.
on this forum, aside from some of the more obvious names associated with our avatars, what does your nickname/username mean or refer to?.
some are first names.

Mine is pretty self-explanatory. This has been my nickname since I was a kid. My dad was always fixing my scraped knees, cuts. In adulthood, I have had many avoidable accidents that have landed me in the emergency room.
One incident was I was hanging drapes in our bedroom, instead of taking the time to get a ladder, I had one foot on the bed and one foot on the night table, reaching over a dresser, well the night table ended up tipping, I couldn't catch myself and I fell right on top of the night table. Knocked the wind out of me. I had to drive myself to emergency, as xjw was working late, I didn't want to call him and tell him the stupid thing I had done. I ended up with a hairline crack to my collarbone.
I've had two broken ribs from being pulled off a sleigh ride and ended landing sideways on xjw's big snow boot.
I've ended up with a concussion from xjw throwing rocks, the size of a grapefruit, into the bush to spook the kids on a hike, only to have one rock richochet off a tree and hit me smack in the back of my head. Knocked me out cold.
So I think that is a good name for me.

LETTER FROM MY DAUGHTER.... NEED YOUR OPINIONS
by calamityjane inokay guys, i need your opinion.
my 13 year old daughter was pretty close to my jw parents when we left.
i cut off ties last year because of my mom's intrusive behaviour with my daughter.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Ladylee I agree with you totally. JW"s run by their own laws, they don't care if they lie to you, they feel they are justified in doing it.
Scully, yes that's a great idea by having my parents explain to my daughter, in front of us as to why they can't associate with us. I could see that as a very awkward situation for them. Dinner out with the grandparents where everyone can see that they are eating with apostates. LOL
If and when I do contact my parents, it will definitely have to be supervised at first.
We will definitely sit down and talk to her and be open. If my daughter persists on wanting to see them, I am going to have arrange something, as I do not want my daughter to resent us. It seems when you hold something back from child, they will do everything to obtain what your holding back.
thanks again everyone.

What if...
by SheilaM ini have been thinking a lot lately, with anthony graduating and going into the marines.
but, a horrible thought hit me the other day.
what if when thunder and i chose to leave the "lie" the kids had stayed.

that scenario is the one I don't want to live with my daughter.
Kids are so vulnerable at the teen stage, and to let my parents into her life at this time just confuses things. I went through this with our older one, my parents, no matter how rebellious she would be they would stick up for her, blaming me and xjw for our problems with her.
Now what rebellious teenager would side with their parents when they have grandparents that say "that's okay, they're not that bad". When I as a teenager under their roof I could never, ever do what there grandchildren did or planned to do.
My parents will work against me tooth and nail, and I'll lose my daughter to them because they will accept her no matter what she did, just to gain her soul to the borg. And that is the truth.

Okay guys, I need your opinion. My 13 year old daughter was pretty close to my jw parents when we left. I cut off ties last year because of my mom's intrusive behaviour with my daughter.
Today, she spent time at her non-jw friend's house and visiting her friend's grandmother.
Before I got on to the board, I find this letter on the computer desk, addressed to "Mom and Dad" it reads this way:
(this was exactly how my daughter worded the following letter:
today I experienced a "tough" time spending time with Kaitlyn's Nana. ? Cuz I can't spend time with my grandparents (Buba and Gedo). Soooo. like will you let me visit them a couple of times. like who knows one of these days they could die!! (I'd be really really pissed cuz I didn't say those special words to them "I Love you" like you don't have to see them but I would cuz I experienced a tough & rough time.
Luv you lots
TMS
I have a tough time with this, because I need to shield my kids from my parent's especially my mom, because I can't trust her, with the borg mind control. But I know that I can't deny a grandchild their grandparents, and yes I've heard "then have it a supervised access" well to tell you the truth, I can't be in the presence of my mom without feeling contempt or her feeling contempt for me.
It's not like she doesn't have a set of grandparents. We have xjw_b12's parents who love the kids, but they live quite a distance from us and only visit once a year.
